Geez. The short stories aren't even that scary! (I say even though everyone has a different tolerance for scary things) Though one of the stories, 'The Breaking Wheel', had a gnarly Cover image for if it was the first story of the book, but they went with the image for 'Fetch'. And yeah. Most of the stories aren't obviously scary. Several are more psychological horror and body horror.

I just remembered Slenderman! Who remembers the Slenderman? I mean, who wouldn't, it's literally mainstream now what with the game Slender, the feature film, and the minecraft mob based on it. I got so creeped out watching Marble Hornets back in the day, and of course seeing the photo edits which is where it all started.

Slenderman actually doesn't have an Original Creepypasta Story. He was originally made for a forum thread about creating Paranormal Images. Since then he's really made it in regards to popularity and infamous horror lore.

Surprisingly, Slenderman isn't the 'creator' or, in Pokemon terms, either the Mew or Arceus of Creepypasta. Most agree that a story called Ted the Caver, posted in 2001, is the true first Creepypasta.

The Creepypasta spectrum is immense. Anything can be twisted into something else. From odd behaviors to old shows to superstitions and even simple moments people experience.

Sometimes scary is a spectrum as well. What scares the creator likely won't scare some others. I actually have 2 (and a half) Creepypasta OCs that I think are cool. Maybe if I ever feel like it, I'll actually write their stories, lol.
