On behalf of the entire Indigo League, we are so excited that you're taking on the Indigo League Challenge!" Professor Oak exclaims, arms open to the new trainers in front of him. The lab is an impressive building, surely one of the best in the world... As the humming and drumming noises of various machines in Oak's prestigious laboratory drone on, you can't help but ponder...

Everyone has heard the rumors. Even neighboring regions are concerned. A dangerous, scientifically modified Pokemon known only as Mewtwo has been ravaging the Kanto region. Earthquakes, droughts, strange behaviors in wild Pokemon... Oak will say it's "the planetary rotation," "Groudon and Kyogre fighting in Hoenn again," or some other scientific mumbo-jumbo, but the gaping hole beside Cerulean Cave says otherwise. You know this won't be a normal Pokemon Journey.

Oak clears his throat. "Ehem! Now, if you don't already have one, please choose a Pokemon partner of your very own! You'll need it for the uhh... tall grass..."

Hello, and welcome to the first RP I've made in years! I'm super excited to make one again, so please read through the rules and have fun!!

Professor Oak beckons you to a table with baskets of PokeBalls, each labelled with a different Starter Pokemon. "Here, you can choose your very first Pokemon partner! Choose wisely, as you only get one."

Name: Marcia
Age: 17
Gender/Pronouns: Female, She/Her
Region of Origin: Sevii Islands (4 Island)
Backstory: Born to two overprotective parents, Marcia always longed to explore the world outside of the Sevvi Islands. Growing up with books all about the great Champions of old, powerful legendary Pokemon, and the fun that comes with exploring the Pokemon world, Marcia was always intrigued with all things ancient and unsolved. As she got older, her goals became more refined, and her dreams now lie in meeting (and catching) great legendary Pokemon and studying the ancient Pokemon world. More recently, a tsunami caused by what was speculated to be Mewtwo wiped out her small family home, and with this development, Marcia was finally able to convince her parents to let her travel to Kanto, at least until her house is rebuilt...
Personality: Marcia is head-strong in her goals. She does deceitful and reckless things in the name of discovering something new. This sometimes lands her and those around her in some trouble! At heart, though, Marcia is genuinely just curious about the world, and doesn't mean to hurt any of her friends. Marcia can come off as head-strong, troublesome, or even rude at first, but she truly cares about those around her. Artsy and eccentric, Marcia can be hard to get to know, but a fiercely loyal and thoughtful friend.
Appearance: Marcia, slightly tan from the island sun, has very light blonde hair going all the way down to her hips. It's wavy and a little frizzy, but shines in the sunlight with tinges of gold and white, accented with curtain bangs which frame her face. She has light blue eyes and soft features. She's shorter and a bit rounder, at around 5'3ft, but almost always wears platform sandals to bring her height up to average. Overall, her style reflects the island she's lived on for most of her life. Colorful dresses, cardigans, and skirts go side-by-side with her almost overwhelming amount of jewerly, ranging from seaglass necklaces to seashell bracelets and handmade flower crowns.

Not accepting you because you... seemingly didn't read the rules at all? It's in the main post that you need to choose a starter Pokemon from the Kanto region and, if you wanted a different starter, to palpad me first. You also want your starter to be a mega Absol, which is super overpowered and against the rules. You're also adding a lot of lore to the story that I would have wished you had discussed with me first, like being taken in by Professor Oak would be fine if you'd discussed it first.

I honestly recognize you from the Shiny Shop too that you either don't read or disregard the rules, so I don't wanna roleplay with you, I'm very sorry.

Backstory: Luna grew up in the small town of Azalea with her grandparents who were both skilled Pokemon trainers. She developed a love for Pokemon at a young age and dreamed of becoming a Pokemon trainer herself. When she turned 16, she set out on her journey to explore the vast world of Pokemon and become a Pokemon Master.
Personality: Luna is determined, kind-hearted, and adventurous. She is always eager to help others and make new friends along her journey. She is also fiercely loyal to her Pokemon and will do whatever it takes to protect and care for them.
Appearance: Luna has long brown hair, hazel eyes, and a warm smile. She wears a red and white trainer outfit with a backpack to carry her essentials.
Starter Pokemon: Cyndaquil
Other Information: Luna has a special bond with her Cyndaquil, named Ember, who she rescued from a group of poachers in the Ilex Forest. Ember now serves as her loyal companion and partner in battles. Luna is determined to become a Pokemon Champion and make her grandparents proud.

Backstory: He's a foreign exchange student from Unova, and she comes from a huge household with multiple siblings and his two moms. She loves Kanto, the culture, food, and pokemon, but they still miss their family and floragato back at home.
Personality: They prefer being alone, opting be around pokemon rather than people. He's relatively quiet most of the time, but when they have a strong opinion they will not hesitate to share it.
Appearance: They have dark tan/almond colored skin, deep purple eyes, and a dark blue hoodie. (I have a ref, and will add it when I get onto my home computer)

Starter Pokemon: Male eevee with white paws/Tail tip/tips of ears
Other Information:They chose a new Starter when they transferred to a school in Kanto a couple years ago, and seeing the floofy eevee, they knew the two would be great partners.
Also, some have sworn they feel an eerie presence when they go near her. Some say they've seen slitted eyes in his shadow.

Backstory: Umbro grew in the quite town of Cerulean his mother was the gym leader in the town and Umbro always looked up to her he dreamed of becoming a gym leader himself so when he finally reached the age of 15 he went on a journey to become a gym leader
Personality: Umbro is determined in his goals though he straggles to make friends because of his dark nature but if he manages to get a friend he is ready to do everything to help them
Appearance: dark short hair hair and dark blue eyes he has a dark aura around him and always dresses in dark clothes
Starter Pokemon: shiny eevee (later umbreon)
Other Information: Umbro likes the dark typing and will catch every dark pokemon he sees his goal is to become a dark type gym leader

Backstory: Dakota’s a huge Pokemon lover. She always wanted to catch ’em all, or at least find every Pokemon species. She lived a normal life, until someday, on a path in the woods, she found a Celebi. She knew that’s a rare Pokemon and rushed to catch it, unfortunelly failing and getting sent to the future as a punishment. But Dakota used it for her own goals. She found Pokemon that were not in her home region and started a new adventure.
Personality: Dakota is usually shy and nervous, only opening up when she needs help or when she wants to help someone other. Deep inside, she’s very friendly, but tries to hide it, after some… unexpected events happening (not told in her backstory for a purpose, I kinda want her to tell others later in RP and not let people know from the beggining).
Appearance: A young girl with peach-colored hair, pale skin and red eyes. Usually wears some old-fashioned clothes, mostly white, but later in the roleplay she’s going to change her clothes to more modern, to better fit in current times.

Name: Ronald "Ronno" Blitzbee
Age: 17
Gender/Pronouns: Male (He/Him,)
Region of Origin: Kanto, Lavender Town

Backstory: In the fair county of Lavender Town is where we lay our scene, where Ronald, as his parents tell him, hatched from an egg left by Moltres at their doorstep. This story is a daydream that Ronno earnestly believes to this day, but not without some actual foundation- He did indeed turn out much more fiery than the rest of his townsfolk.

Brought up by two cryptid, isolatory radio hosts who made living off of the paranormal, Ronno always longer for more- More colorful, more joyful, more,, getting to go out of the house, without his parents warning him about the many Pokemon after his soul and how the region of Kanto- if not the world- will, inevitably, come to an end at the morn of his 18th birthday.

Making the best of the few years "prophecized" to him, Ronno pursued his dreams of color, taking on everything from theatre to experimental poetry, even dabbling in songwriting and art- those, admittedly, to a bit of a miserable extend.

Being treated as an exotic and unusual commodity in Lavender Town served him swell, and he quickly rose from pioneering his town's first theatre club, to his parents gifting him an hour of their radio runtime for his allocated "Rendevouz with Ronno" spot, where he re-enacted theatrical plays with him as a sole actor.

But his eighteenth birthday neared, and with the appearance of Mewtwo, the prophecy weighed on both his family, and all of his parent's fans who just as him believed in their words...

And with that, daring once more, Ronno announced to his small following that Randevouz With Ronno will be taking a break till the Doomsday comes- That he will venture out on his Pokemon journey, and meet the end of the world halfway. And then, he will return once more for the last time, to read the world's best poem, and to continue reading till the World takes its last breath.

... And if this keeps him from having to take up a retail job that would signal his life over for sure, doomsday or not, then all that more swell for him.

Personality: Flamboyant and verbose, Ronno is an introvert's worst nightmare. Always zipping everywhere with too much energy, self-importance and grandeur, waxing poetically about little nothings. Some are drawn to what he considers charismatic and charming, and his taste for fine and romantic things, but it's common for him to rub people the wrong way with his cheekiness, lack of self-awareness over his own antics and his obtuseness for some day-to-day life things.

His zest for life is contrasted by his sudden meekness in any actually serious event, and his paranoid and superstitious nature- Inherited from his parents, Ronno does sincerely believe in all things from the inherent unluckiness of standing underneath willow trees, Farfetch'ses being an auspicious sign, and of course, the inevitable doom at the hands of Mewtwo.

All in all, Ronno is a good-hearted boy with the best of interests, but maybe not the best execution. He just needs to get socialized by the commoners with common sense, and simply, get his nose out of the poetry books and hang out with kids his age.

Appearance: Ronald catches eyes easily, making up for his lack of eighter height or impressive build with as much as sparkle as he can. His face is a thin and sunken, a tell-tale feature of any good Lavender Town citizen, which he accentuates into "sharpness" with his prominent use of make up, and a fake beauty mark on his left cheek.

His trademark is his hair, thick and lustrous black with a single thick yellow streak that was meant to match his pale hazel, gold in the right light eyes, but Ronno overdid the color. He puts his hair up in a high ponytail that often twacks whoever has the misfortune of standing too close.

His face is further accentuated by his long dangling earrings- twin golden suns, which have two small chain hanging off of them, now ending with small gold feathers, while the longer wraps around small, yellow quartzes.

For outfits, Ronno spares very little idea of practicality. His current favorite is a casual, torn at the edges, gray waistcoat, and a low-hanging white shirt unbuttoned around the lapels. He also wears a loose yellow tie, one that often gets away from him if a slight wind gets involved. He is not exactly handsome- rather, he puts so much effort in appearing so, it sort of achieves the opposite effect-, but his smile is bright enough to make up for it. Until he actually opens his mouth, at least.

Starter Pokemon: A bulbous female Pikachu with lopped ears and unruly mop of fur covering her eyes, whose name changes depending on Ronno's whim.

Other Information: Holding my silly stupid gay boy for consideration so bad. He is bit of a comic-relief/obtuse doof but I promise, it's only because he is just so stupid and genuinely little afraid for his own life. Somebody give him hot tea and some normal friends.

Backstory: Phoebe is from the Sinnoh region, her love of Pokemon started when she saw an Azelf while walking around the neighbourhood, when she went to see the Azelf for the first time at the Lake Valor, she knew that her dream of becoming a Pokemon trainer should become a reality. After studying about the Pokemon habitat and the Pokemon that live in the areas, Phoebe knows that she is ready to take on the challenge of becoming a Pokemon trainer.
Personality: Phoebe is adventurous, she is sweet and caring also she is a great friend.

Backstory: Teo's mother is from Paldea, but he grew up in Pallet Town. His visits to Paldea sparked an interest in traveling in him, but he wanted to finish his schooling before starting his journey. Now that he's done with school, he's excited to travel and research Pokemon out in the wild.
Personality: Teo loves learning about history and investigating legendary Pokemon and historical events. His dream is to encounter every known legendary Pokemon. He is methodical in all that he does, and can be quiet at times.
Appearance: Teo is tall and lanky, with medium-length black hair that he usually keeps in a bun.

Other Information: Teo has worked in Professor Oak's lab in the past, and has a good working knowledge of Pokemon names and typings due to research he's helped with.
