In a faraway future, humanity is close to a peaceful extinction. Those left enjoy a leisurely life. There’s no need to work. After all, the robotiaid can take on any task needed to upkeep society. The world is now a utopia, and humans should be enjoying it…

Or at least, that’s what they tell you.

The year is 2071. Ever since the invention of the android, crime rates have plummeted. Human life grows more and more scarce. Why have a child when you can buy a mechanical one, new? Human-run businesses are becoming a rare commodity.

The Clockwork Detective Agency is the last of its kind. Crimes are an uncommon occurrence, and usually solved by an all-mechanical police force. But this little agency of detectives, is, despite the name, fully comprised of humans who investigate the dark undertones of this new cyberpunk society.

You are a worker at The Clockwork Detective Agency. Janitor, up-and-coming detective, a simple time-worn secretary- it doesn’t matter. You are as human as they come. And when the city of Trydanfaid is threatened, it’s up to you to investigate.

But when the tangled mysteries are unravelled, the evil lurking beneath this new world will step out of the darkness... and towards you.

Make sure to read all of the rules! Giving me all your oreos is optional, but following these are not. If you break them, you'll get a warning. 1. PH rules apply.

2. Characters must be balanced. They may be as smart or strong as you like, but above all, they must be a fairly flawed person and not an idealised form.

3. Do not control other's characters. You have your own characters for a reason. Characters will only make their choices under the person whom they belong to. Example: Example lunged forward, her fist at the ready to punch Example2 and relished in his squeak of fear. The person controlling Example cannot make Example2 squeak in fear. It is up to Example2's roleplayer to make that call of what Example2 will do.

4. Try to keep your characters relatively consistent. They can change over time, of course, but the change shouldn't come out of nowhere.

5. Paragraph style and third person. This style means that you will write your posts like a book. Such as- ("Hello," she said. "It's nice to meet you." She held out her hand for a handshake.) opposed to (Hello, it’s nice to meet you *I said and held my hand out for a handshake* ) This is to keep the posts clean and as easy to understand as possible. There is no minimum word count, but try not to do one liners.

6. If you are going out of character, then please put it in brackets. It can be confusing otherwise.

7. Your character MUST be human. If you would like to negotiate for a partially mechanical character, please contact Serendibite privately to discuss.

8. This roleplay won’t go into particular graphic detail, but due to the dark themes in any work of dystopia, please only sign up if you are over the age of 13.

9. Be active. If you sign up, then please try and post at least once every few days. If you are inactive without any explanation for over a week, you will be put on the blacklist.

Keiki has a bit of a shady background, no one knows really where they came from. At a young age, they mixed in with the wrong crowd and started a life of crime. Y'know...serious stuff. Stealing candy from babies, littering, all the horrible crimes out there. I know, shocking. But Keiki soon grew bored of stealing candy from children and the occasional bank robbery, preferring to steal a new kind of thing.

Living poor and on the streets was not something Keiki was very fond of, so they blackmailed and lied their way into a life of, not luxury, as that would attract too much attention, but a life of comfort. Keiki knows the right people, and can ruin your life in an instant. So, be wary.

Personality: A cold, rational, and aloof individual who rarely does extreme shows of emotion. She is very intelligent (not so much so socially in which case she is very oblivious) in a great many matters, methodical, and thorough in what she does. She has a great passion for science, which is her deepest felt joy in life, but with most other things, there is really nothing to get stirred up about.

Suzume is rather reserved, and does not get irritated easily. She is cool-headed most of the time, and she does not easily get attached to people, possibly due in part to her trust issues. She considers the world to be a very dangerous place, and she doesn't think particularly well of anyone within it, nor does she want to get close to them. Or… so she tells herself.

Suzume doesn't really go out of her way to accommodate others, but she doesn't really go out of her way to be cruel either. She tries to remain polite and civil in conversation, but may say the wrong thing and realize too late. Deep down, part of her does want to connect with other people, but she's not so sure she wants to let her guard down.

After all, there's plenty of fulfillment in the work she does, isn't there? Why would she ever have the need for anything more?

Suzume can come across as a little creepy at times when it comes to her experiments, as she is willing to do anything in the name of discoveries. She might speak of something particularly mortifying with little show of any sort of mortification. This is probably not out of cruelty, she is just incredibly curious, and unbothered by seeing the darker side of the world.

She can be incredibly assertive at times and quite relentless at pursuing what she wants. She tends to trust her own reasoning, and rarely likes to admit that she is wrong. She can be a little arrogant in this regard, liking to think of herself as incredibly intelligent and competent.

Suzume struggles greatly when it comes to matters regarding emotional sensitivity, and is often puzzled at what the right thing is to do in such situations. She dislikes dealing with her feelings, and tends to push them away if she can whenever necessary.

History: Well… probably similar to that of the Dangan Roleplay. She lived a semi-decent life with her biological parents until they both died in a car crash. After she was orphaned, she was adopted and raised by her two dads. Suzume developed a massive interest in how the world around her worked in its many manifestations, and sought to understand it. She became obsessed with researching all the various types of science that existed, she had to know everything about how everything in the universe around her worked and why. She often found herself ridiculed by others for her "nerdy" interests, and never really found real friends to call her own. She developed severe trust issues as a result of this, and took to living her life mostly desolate and alone. Despite this world she lived in having no need for a human to work so hard, science was still always her deeply felt passion, possibly her only one. Upon hearing that the Clockwork Detective Agency would work to solve numerous crimes with various staff members, and that they were in need of a Forensic Analyst, Suzume found herself perfectly qualified for the job, and of course signed up for it. Let's see what she's in for…
