The world collapsed in upon itself, one day.

They called it 'The Apocalypse'.

All over the world, monsters appeared out of nowhere, and massive domes trpped people within the confines of the city they resided in.

And these... creatures appeared.

They called themselves... [The Gamemasters].

and suddenly, the world became a videogame.

"The First Scenario begins now!"

And all hell broke loose.

"Cassius. You rang?"

Her heels clicked against the cold, marble floor, as she crossed her arms.

The golden-haired scientist glanced back at her, his expression as neutral as ever.

"It's ready."

She let out a quiet laugh.

"My, is it that time already?"

Her attempt at a joke goes wholly unnoticed, as Cassius turned back to the screen of his computer, the light tapping of keys ringing out once more.

She sighed.

"Would it kill you to laugh?"

Cassius's hands paused, as his eyes glinted azure.

She paused, turning on her heel, laughing nervously.

"Neeever mind then-!"

She heard him sigh.

That stung, a little.

Just a little.

"How long do I have, o' all-seeing one?"

Her tone was sarcastic.

She heard a heavy sigh come from him, before the clacking of keys.

"...be back in 19 hours. Or less."

19 hours.

It's not nearly enough.

Not nearly enough to say goodbye.

She swallowed her emotions and nodded.

"Alright. See you then."

But his attention was already gone.

She let out a heavy sigh, and walked away.

His eyes fluttered open.

Everything was so blurry.

Where was he?

…no, a better question would be WHO was he?

God, his head hurt.

A soft female voice rang out, from beside him.

"You're awake, hm?"

The woman let out a soft laugh.

"My, Cassius did a good job in reviving you…"

A soft hand gently rested on his cheek. His vision cleared up, and he saw her.

The first thing that came to mind was how startlingly bright her eyes were.

A bright shade of red.

Beautiful.

The lady helped her up.

Everything ached…

"Where…"

His voice was hoarse…

The woman put a finger on his lips, softly.

"I know you must be confused, but listen carefully."

His heart hurt.

It felt like a spike went through it, every time the lady spoke.

The lady let out a small laugh.

“Elias Winter. My wonderful knight. I’m sorry it has to be this way.”

Elias.

Right, that was his na-

Wait, knight?

Her purple hair fell to her waist, wearing a white dress shirt under a black jacket, hanging off her shoulders.

“Viv…ian?”

Her smile was soft, and sad.

“That’s right.”

Her hand gently rubbed his cheek.

“I’m sorry it had to be this way.’

Her crimson eyes were filled with sorrow.

“When you wake up, you won’t be Elias Winter, the Knight. You’ll just be ‘Elias’, a college student.”

God, everything was spinning.

Her smile was so bright, yet so sad.

“Goodbye, my loyal wolf. Perhaps…”

She paused, as she stood back up.

“Perhaps we’ll meet again in the future.”

[𝙱𝚊𝚌𝚔𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚛𝚢]
Born in a normal family, Yohan had a decently normal childhood growing up. But that was until during his first year of middle school. Yohan accidentally found out that his mother has been cheating on his father for the past couple of years. Due to the fact that he was still immature back then, in a panic he told his father. In a fury, they divorced, and Yohan's father kicked her mother out of their house. But the trouble didn't end there, to vent out his sorrows, his father started drinking and gambling again. Which in turn put their used-to-be well-balanced normal financial situation into a crisis. By then, Yohan was in his 3rd year of middle school. Too young to start working, but thankfully, to the fact that he was more mature than his usual peers among his age, he was luckily able to grab a few jobs here and there. But that clearly wasn't enough, and Yohan's household slowly sank into debts, due to his father's gambling addiction. Combined with his father's selfish outbursts that happens every single day. Yohan slowly got tired. That was the moment, he started to scheme. A seed of evil has been planted, and the idea of rebellion has been set. Now all he need is to wait until he is legally of age. Until then, he planned, and planned and compromised. He made sure there weren't a single flaw in his plan, and by the time he is of legal age, there wouldn't be a debt in his name, nor a father. A few years went by in a flash, Yohan successfully has gotten rid of his debt, went into a middle-level university far away from his hometown. Became a diligent deputy chief in the advertisement department, earning normal wage. Yohan wasn't happy, nor sad, nor disappointed in himself. He just felt.. life was boring. He thought of the complex and stimulating process of getting rid of his past. Setting himself free... If this was how freedom felt, then freedom was boring and dull. Everything in his small little world was all within his plan. Even his promotion was planned. Every little detail was within his expectations. But never did he expect, that his little world that he ruled would one day crash upon himself.

By choosing a medium, whether it be a piece of line paper, or even the ground, and a writing tool. The [Tyrant] has the ability to create 3 rules, that all people under his eyes must obey by. 1 rule for civilians, 1 rule followed by his solders, and 1 rule for the enemy. As long as the rules are written down clearly, they have to be followed. It's range is limited by the scenario, and the powers are limited in the beginning, from debuffs and buffs, to limits of actions to something even more extraordinary as the ability levels up. It can only be used once per scenario and cannot be changed. The rules would be canceled once the medium is destroyed.

[𝙲𝚑𝚊𝚛𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝚃𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚝] - [Tyrant]
There are only 3 types of people in the eyes of the tyrant, civilians, those that pose no harm to the [Tyrant], soldiers, who sworn to be the [Tyrant's] sword and shield, and enemies, the dead souls who shall recieve no mercy. People who regard the [Tyrant] with good will, will receive an all stat buff of 10% to be your sword in battle. Those who regard the [Tyrant] with animosity will receive an all stat debuff of 10%, as those who go against the [Tyrant] shall be off with their head! [иαмє: Blake Rivere (They/Them | Androromantic Androsexual | 165 cm/5'4)]

[αgє: 14 years old ]

[αρρєαяαи¢є: (picrew) ]
Blake's appearance is surprisingly youthful and childish, with messy, slightly curly white hair, shimmering, curious emerald-green eyes, and pale skin from basically only going out at night. They wear a fitted black turtleneck underneath a cozy maroon sweater, and also a stylish black denim jacket that they keep unbuttoned, paired with skinny black jeans and long dark gray socks. They wear a black metallic hairclip in the shape of a crescent moon along with silver earrings as well. Completing their look, they wear white high-top sneakers. They hold a mysterious locked grimoire with them at all times, its contents supposedly being related to forbidden eldritch knowledge.

[ρєяѕσиαℓιту: ]
Blake possesses a deep fascination with the eldritch and occult, their curiosity often getting the better of themselves. In their free time, they can often be found engrossed in whatever eldritch tome of grimoire they have on hand, usually the one that they keep around all the time. Despite their interest in those rather unconventional and esoteric topics, Blake still maintains a friendly and cheerful demeanor, not afraid to speak his mind (usually) and ask questions. However, Blake's shyness often holds them back from openly sharing their passions with others. They fear being judged or misunderstood by those who may not share their interests.

[вα¢кѕтσяу: ]
From an early age, Blake was drawn to the mysteries beyond human comprehension, delving into the realms of eldritch stories. Their parents, unable to understand or accept Blake's interests and their nonbinary identity, responded with disapproval and disdain (why are all my enby ocs' parents unsupportive). At school, Blake faced bullying from their peers, further isolating them from finding acceptance and understanding.

One fateful day, driven by their insatiable curiosity, Blake decided to attempt a summoning ritual to connect with the eldritch realm (this is starting to sound like an chuuni anime plot) during a full moon. They really did not expect it to work at all, yet something manifested in their hands - a grimoire. Starting out with only a few pages, it expanded each day, revealing the secrets of the eldritch realm curtain by curtain.

Shortly after that, Blake received a coveted invitation to Miskatonic University — a beacon of knowledge and understanding for those who delve into the mysteries of the eldritch. However the apocalypse began and stuff and they never got to attend blah blah blah end of backstory i only got 6 hours of sleep

[ιииαтє αвιℓιту: [Courtier of Azathoth] (Active) ]
Blake has the capability of summoning their assigned eldritch mercenary, Ayame, for a limited amount of time (the entire night if he is summoned during a full moon) by reciting an eldritch summoning ritual.

“Tibi, magnum Innominandum, signa stellarum, nigrarum et bufaniformis Sadoquae sigillum…”

At higher levels the summoning becomes permanent instead. They also gain greatly accelerated physical regeneration and become able to wield eldritch magic (mainly elemental and light magic) to some degree, as well as gain greatly increased eldritch understanding for a short amount of time after the summoning.

Information about Ayame is below:
Quote from Look at the sentence above this(picrew)
Ayame (He/Him/They/Them | Aromantic Asexual | 137 cm/4'6)

N'ghftlloig, or more commonly referred to as Ayame, is Blake's personal eldritch mercenary. His existence transcends mortal comprehension, being the reborn soul of a child whose death was caused by immense sorrow and grief.

Ayame takes the form of a 10-year-old human child with shy ice-blue eyes and disheveled mauve purple hair. He wear a white sweater and a purple-brown cloak. He wears knee-length white socks and black platform boots as well. A keyhole-shaped cavity is on their abdomen as well, with Blake's grimoire representing a key of sorts.

He carries around a large, heavy black scythe mainly for aesthetic purposes, but is able to deliver heavy blows. He is also able to use eldritch magic (obviously), specializing in poison manipulation and life draining. As an eldritch entity, Ayame is also capable of levitation, and is affected less by physical attacks.

[¢нαяα¢тєя тяαιт: [Present-World Esotericist of Eldritch Phenomena] ]
Nothingness is the end, yet fear not of it, for it is the end of sadness and suffering. The [Esotericist]'s [INT] stat is increased by 50% when reading an eldritch tome, allowing them to memorize and comprehend them to a far greater extent. During a full moon, solar eclipse, blood moon, or any celestial anomaly involving the moon, their [INT] and [WIS] stats are both increased by 5 points, and any eldritch spells they cast will also have greater effects. So close, yet so far... Embrace nothingness with open arms, for salvation lies in nothingness.

She tends to not care about people or the consequences of her actions, instead focusing on the momentary enjoyment she can squeeze out. If something catches her interest, she'll play with it for a while and crack a few jokes, but whether or not that thing is a person or not, means nothing to her. The moment they start feeling closer to her, she'll drop them like a hot potato. Overall, not the best person to hang out with- though it's not like you'll have a say in it, should you catch her attention.

-[Likes] Attention. Video games. Crows. Strawberries.

-[Dislikes] People who take things seriously. Children.

[Backstory: ] Toshiko was put into the system soon after she was born, due to reasons unknown to her. She spent most of her childhood flipflopping out of homes, and rarely maintaining friendships or solid relationships. She ended up adopted at age 11. She finally managed to form relationships, particularly with a kid named Briar who lived nearby, who picked up smoking with her and similarly hated his family situation. When she was 15, she stabbed her adoptive mother, and was immediately institutionalized following the incident, since her adoptive mother didn't want her to go to juvie.

Toshiko hated the institute even more than home, especially due to her psychologist, a man who abused her and other young girls around the facility. When she was released, she returned home to her adoptive mother and started up at a private school, where she met someone named Kaya, who she got into a relationship with, bonding over their shared damaged background Currently, at the end of the world, she is searching for her, in the hopes of being reunited. She and Chizu went to the same school together, and Toshiko travels with her. (Chizu calls it stalking.)

[Family]

Toshiko's adoptive mother is despised by her adopted daughter. Toshiko practically wants her dead at this point, blaming her for the abuse she's experienced throughout her life, and often projecting a lot of her bad experiences onto her adoptive mother. Deep down, Toshiko does feel some remorse for what she did to her, but buries it beneath a heaping load of blame and anger.

Toshiko's adoptive sister Miyako was annoying. Too young, too obnoxious, and she reported on Toshiko's butter knife. Unforgiveable. A breaker of sibling code. Pure evil.

[Allies]

Chizu is amusing to Toshiko. So silly and overdramatic- she's so over the top, and such a bad liar! The kiddin likes to pretend she's on top of things, but really, at the end of the world, Toshiko suspects she's thinking about a guy. And not even a cute guy. She should really find Briar and set the two up...

Kaya may just be the one person in the world that Toshiko happens to care about. Toshiko might crack a joke or two, but deep down, you can see in her eyes that she is truly worried about her. Where is she? What happened to her? Who's keeping her from her beloved girlfriend? Toshiko is terrified that she'll lose Kaya- her one last real human connection. Without her, who is she? What value does Toshiko hold if she's only to be used and discarded, a broken toy? When the one person in the world who liked her is dead and gone, then is Toshiko nothing? Just a breath of air, there for a moment, then left to dissipate? ...None of that matters, because Kaya is alive out there. Please please please be alive Kaya I swear I'll never leave you again, please-

Briar is a friendly but distant memory. Toshiko enjoyed trolling him. He was funny.

[Enemies]

Toshiko's psychologist is a major aspect of why Toshiko has given up on humanity. So many despicable people out there... at this point, who the hell cares?

Chrissie was pathetic. Infuriating. A cowering mouse in the body of a person. Everything about her was what Toshiko disliked in a person, and yet Chrissie took another step forward. Toshiko longs to crush her, more than anybody else in the world. And Ash too.

[Innate Ability: ] [Crow's Call] is a useful, if annoying power. Toshiko is inexplicitly attracted to shiny things, but she can also summon down a flock of crows if she screams particularly piercingly. They obviously don't listen to her, but somehow, a flock of shrieking birds that are trapped within 5 metres of your enemy can be somewhat annoying to get through. It would probably be a good defense mechanism, but Toshiko mostly uses it to piss people off and for lunch if she's feeling particularly interested in experiencing West Nile Virus.

[Character Trait: ] [Villain's Heart] Gets a 5x boost to any magical attacks after inflicting negative status effects on another party.

[Name: ] Luther Waters

[Age: ] 21

[Appearance: ] A tall, lanky individual with skin the colour of light milk chocolate. He has wide, dark brown eyes. Bleached blonde curls. There's always the hint of a smile in his upturned lips- as if in any second he's prepared to flash his sharp white teeth and wrap someone in a hug. Angular facial features. Generally, he wears a grey t-shirt and olive cargo shorts. Gold helix piercing in both ears.

[]Height: 182cm or 5'11
[]Weight: 68kg or 149lbs.
[]Skin Tone: Cocoa.
[]Hair Style: Curly, a little long.
[]Hair Colour: Bleached blonde.
[]Eye Colour: Medium brown.
[]Clothes: Grey t-shirt, olive cargo shorts.
[]Accessories: Gold helix piercings.
[]Other: N/A

[Personality: ] An optimistic, friendly presence who's always there, ready to support someone at a moment's notice... But truly, deep down, is nothing more than an insecure, manipulative mess. Luther has a great deal of self hatred for himself and the world around him- in fact, hate tends to drive his every action. Hatred for those who laugh and smile at his goofy antics. Hatred for his friendly, outgoing persona. Society itself, which drove to conceal who he was underneath a shallow veneer; a veneer that's the only thing he has left in a shattered world. While this seems to be all there is to him... there is in fact more. He holds a deep sense of honour within, especially for those whom hate him, and would die to protect them, even if he'd wish death upon them in a quieter moment. While this might seem a tad contradictory, then you must understand that deep down, he is by no mean's a bad person- and underneath the façade of a goofball, there is another façade, of one believing that he hates others.... when in fact, he might just love them too much.

-[Likes] Gold. French nursery rhymes. Cats (though he'll vehemently deny it!). Watching birds. Camping.

-[Dislikes] People who don't speak up. (He's deaf in one ear.) Raw tomatoes. The colour pink. Dogs.

[Backstory: ] Luther grew up in a nice suburban home with a wealthy single mother and no siblings. He had few friends due to his prickly attitude. As he grew up, he learned to shove his spite and anger downwards, to a place no one would notice it. He quickly garnered a reputation for a silly goofball with only air existing in his head, and even more quickly, began to hate his persona, and work on it at the same time. As he grew older, he began to mask his ability in subjects, picking up on what his "friends" seemed to dislike and find difficult, matching his own grades to their own. This, combined with his disdain for school and any work in general, seemed to frustrate his mother. He was sent to a private school, and was there when the apocalypse started. He believes his past is far behind him, back in his hometown, but a certain figure from his past haunts his footsteps... and soon Luther will have no choice but to face his truth... the reason why he is here to begin with.

[Family]

Luther's mother is an important figure in his life. He admires and respects her, even if he doesn't want to admit it to himself. She's everything he wanted to be growing up, and it's hard to not imitate her calm and poised persona, even as the entire world burns down around him and the importance of how he acts becomes all the more vital to his survival.

Luther's grandfather was distant. Luther isn't sure how to feel about him... at least he supported his future career?

[Allies]

??? was an idiot. A fool. But now at the end of the world, Luther can't help but feel a creeping chill up his spine at the memory... just where is ??? now?

[Enemies]

[Innate Ability:] [Wish Upon a Star] Luther has the ability to hear and grant the wishes of anyone who says their wish aloud- no matter where they are on the planet. He finds the ability annoying and overwhelming. Of course in the end of the world, everyone's going to be thinking about the what-ifs. And he doesn't care! Not really, not at all. Most of the wishes end up being in foreign languages anyway, so he has no idea whether he should grant them or not. The whole ability just serves to give him a headache, especially since he'd never grant anyone's wish to begin with.

The train rattled along, peacefully.

The people in it stared at their phones, or quietly sat on the seats.

It was a fairly empty train, only about 20 people taking up the 90-person train car.

The sun slowly set, as the world, or this nation, at least, was bathed in vibrant hues of red.

It was peaceful.

No one gave the others any mind.

Elias Winter stood in the middle of the train, his hand tightly holding onto the pole next to him, the other hand, and his eyes, preoccupied with his phone.

Everything was going fine.

And then the train came to a crashing halt, as a creature appeared mid-air.

Small, white nd fluffy, wearing nothing but a loincloth, this white-furred creature floated in the air, hovering like a drone. Its' red eyes looked down at the people in the train car.

"Hello, hello, humans!"
Is it
wickedness?

Or is it
weakness?

With one ear against his phone, and a laptop resting on his lap, Yohan didn't immediately notice that something was off. The train has stopped, and suddenly the train grew quiet.

Yohan looked up questionably, wondering what sorts of events has happened for the train to suddenly grow quiet. But in the corner of his eye, he saw a sudden ball of fluff with horns on it's head.

"???"

Yohan muttered a curse under his breath, wondering if it was his old eyes finally hallucinating, or some slave-ran company was running an advertisement. But to his exasperation, and disbelief, the weird creature that somehow resembled a dokkaebi spoke.

Now more questions rang inside his head. This was completely against his daily routine. Despite the fact that deeply in his consciousness he wished for something against the ordinary to happen. He did NOT infact meant this.

Was this creature truly real? If it was, why.. why did it seem strangely evil?

One the other side of his phone, it grew strangely quiet. His superiors (Yohan didn't like calling them that) weren't barranting at him anymore.

Weird.

Elias jumped in surprise, his golden hair flying around.

He stared at the little ball of fluff in the air.

Oh god.

What was that?

It looked like some sort of demon, with its' pointy little horns and evil smirk.

This didn't seem good.

Was he in danger?

Probably.

It sounded like an eldritch abomination too.

Yohan wasn't stupid, the moment he realized that the otherside of the phone was growing eeriely quiet as well, he immediately knew something was wrong. He clutched his phone tighter, and his eyes narrowed.

Instead of immediately panicking, he kept his eyes on the fluffy ball of creature at all times. Was it a dokkaebi? He couldn't quite tell, as the horny ball of creature looked more animated than what was on those scriptures taught in school.

But if there was one thing Yohan Park was almost 99% certain about, was that, that creature's smirk definitely didn't mean anything good.

Blake Rivere

Blake was, as usual, absentmindedly reading through their grimoire. The two new pages that manifested overnight didn't have any eye-catching details.

Quote"The night is stilled, the air fresh, yet soaked in an anxiety as sweet, and as precious, as the ground cherry, a fair gold for which darkness gives way to reveal such delightful horrors, haunting every soul to its deepest depravity."

Seriously, why does every witness' experience have to be barely any different? I mean, not like they wouldn't be a mind-expanding experience. Just... not fun to read.

The white-haired teenager couldn't help but be reminded of a particular vampire as the vibrant crimson light illuminated the words on their grimoire.

Quote"A foreboding silence echoes through the corridor of portals. Unrelenting darkness brightens the nothingness surrounding him. Sinful as it may be, there is a splendor to be found in appreciation for lost fear supposed to be felt in the presence of a Great Old One."

They barely noticed the cease in movement, yet their attention was caught by an...odd voice. One they'd never heard of for sure.

"Hello, hello, humans!"

Blake turned their head to look at the source of it. It was white and fluffy, with small horns and a sinister smirk. Looks normal, he thought. Being interested in the eldritch meant knowing the existence of weird looking creatures. This one definitely wasn't one he'd seen or read before, but its existence in books were probably lost to time anyways. Probably.

Alaire was rather annoyed by the presence of this... abomination. If it had only appeared an hour later, she would have safely transferred to another train, well on the way to her next assignment. She was heading to small town to follow up on developing reports of a series of sightings of a well-known cryptid, mothman. But it seemed that... something else... had made itself known.

She glanced around at the other occupants of the train. There was short dude reading romance novels on his phone (kinda cute), a white-haired teenager reading a suspicious looking book (a little young), and another guy talking on his phone (interesting, but not her type). They didn't seem... too concerned. Maybe it was some sort of demonstration for the train passengers (she'd seen and covered stranger things in this city). But something told her this was far more sinister.

She adjusted her sunglasses (they worked extremely well to avoid unwanted conversation) and tucked her purple hair behind her ear ("just the right amount of alluring for the news business..." her boss had said). She instinctively held her bag with her clunky laptop (bought fifth-hand a yard sale with a five-hour reboot time) closer to her. She could sense that her communication skills might not be very effective in this situation.
It was never meant to be.

"well, well, well! It looks like this group of humans are quite... interesting!"

The strange being let out a quick laugh.

"Here's the deal! You're currently trapped in our game!"

The white fluffball spun in the air.

Elias stared at the creature, his hand dropping to the side, his phone gripped loosely. His mouth was slightly agape, his mind trying to process what was going on.

"game, game, game~!"

People around Elias reacted differently.

One man, looking very annoyed, glared up at the creature, pointing at it.

"Hey, are you filming a movie or something? What the hell is this?"

The creature suddenly stopped its' chilling laughter, staring at the man.

It grinned.

How terrifying.

"Ehehe~! Looks like you don't quite get the situation!"

The creature's grin got wider...

And then it snapped.

Suddenly, the man's head exploded, raining blood inside of the train.

Elias jumped back, his eyes widening, dropping his phone.

Gods Above, that wasn't good.

Her sunglasses were painted red with a splatter of blood. This was going to go... well. She took them off, looking at them rather disdainfully, and perched them on her forehead so she could better see the creature.

Alaire stayed silent, letting the creature monologue. A game, hmm? Lucky for her, she knew how to play along.

A game huh.

Yohan hasn't seriously played a game in years, but never did he thought that the next time he'll play a game was when his life was on the line. A splatter of blood stained his pants, and Yohan scowled.

If there was a game, then there must be a goal. But just as there a goal that you must complete, there must be a set of rules everyone will need to follow. Who makes those series of rules? A Gamemaster.

Years working in a game company, experience taught him that.

Yohan kept the phone raised against his ear, despite the fact there was nothing on the otherside. He morphed his face into one of surprise, even though he was eerily calm on the inside.

As he still wants his boring life, let's play this awful game then. Let's see how long it'll take to lure the gamemaster out of his little hut.

F*ck it all, let's play.

Blood.

Blood, blood, blood.

Elias stared at the headless body of the fallen man in shock, his eyes wide in fear.

"W- what the hell?!"

The strange creature laughed, before snapping once more.

Suddenly, a semi-transparent rectangle appeared in the air before everyone, not too different from the status window of a video game.

Yohan, like many others looked up at the holographic screen in wonder or fear. In Yohan's case, wonder it was. Holographic technology has been the dreams of many, though it was never seen to be possible in the recent years.

But now...

Yohan sighed, that isn't the main purpose of this post. But rather their objective was. It seems that they already know their minor goals for this game.

[1. Kill 1(one) living being.]
[2. Escape the Train]
[3. (additional) Kill 1 3(three)-Star enemy, [Sea Serpent].]
[4. (additional) Obtain the sponsorship of a [Fable]-Grade [Constellation].]

Though.. wasn't it too hard for a beginning quest? No?

Yohan finally set down his phone, and combed his hair backward with his hands, and let out a silent yet crealy tired sigh. The first one was already going against humanities morals. Second one wasn't too bad, but the third and fourth was confusing. Where are they going to find sea serpants? And finally, what and how where they going to gain a constellation's sponsorship?

No, what are constellations anyways? They couldn't be actual stars in the skies right? Even if they were, how in the world would they gain the sponsorship was a literal ball of rock?

Suddenly a loud swish was heard, outside of the train window, a tail of a huge monster appeared.

Suppose that answered his third requirement.

Leaning back against his seat, perhaps instead of worrying about the rest, he should figure how in the world should he fulfill the first requirement?

First of all killing a real human being was out of the question no matter how much he thinks about it. Yohan isn't that desperate yet. Plus, if you think about it in the gamemaster's perfective, wouldn't it be boring if most of the players were killed in the beginning?

There must be a loophole, he just has to think harder.

Wait.

[1. Kill 1(one) living being.]

It didn't specify what type of living being it had to be.

It was as if Yohan had a light bulb moment... He suddenly knew what to do.

Since the game didn't specify the rules, he wouldn't be fouling right?

Blake Rivere

Blake watched wide-eyed at the fluffy creature, then at the headless, bloodied corpse of the man. Their emerald-green eyes sparkled as they stared curiously. Well, this'll be fun. They thought, gaze still set on the headless body.

Luckily their grimoire was untouchable by anything other than themselves, otherwise the blood stains would be impossible to clean out, and they'd have to get themselves another one. That would be unfortunate.

A holographic window appeared before them as their interest in the corpse died down.

Quote from holographic window[Time Limit -> 1 Hour]

[2. Escape the Train]
[3. (additional) Kill 1 3(three)-Star enemy, [Sea Serpent].]

[Penalty -> Death]

So. They had to kill someone, and otherwise they'd die. Nice game, They thought. Promoting murder was always nice. Blake looked around the train. There were a bunch of easily murderable people near them. Well most of the passengers were taller than them, but it'd probably be no problem for Ayame anyway.

A sea serpent flying out of a tear through reality would be cool. Constellations...those are cool too. I mean, Ayame's title is "The Shambler from the Stars" anyway... there are probably other stuff out there. In space.

Alaire was not sure how she felt about committing murder. Yeah, she'd prepared for the worst. Her mom had taught her how to use a handgun and baseball bat, but right here? Right now? She slapped at a mosquito hovering around her head. Removing her palm, she could see more blood. Rats, it had bit her.

The creature disappeared.

A message appeared on the screen in front of Alaire.

[First Condition Met. Please move onto condition 2: Escape The Train.]

Elias put his phone away.

Oh god.

Kill another person?

He couldn't do that.

He couldn't-

He was cut off by all hell breaking loose within the train, people starting to attack each other with whatever weapons they could find, being pens or books, or even just their fists.

Elias backed away, until his back hit the doors of the train car.

Crap.

Eyeing the smaller holographic screen that appeared infront of a beautiful (though to flashy for his type) women. Yohan rewinded the actions to the other back inside his head.

What did she do, that made her complete the first quest? All she did was slap a mosquito-

Wait.

Yes! He was right.

Suddenly Yohan was pushed back against the people fighting against each other in the train. But that didn't bother him. He knew the true way to pass the first requirement.

The holographic screen never specified which living organisms it was required to kill. It just told them to kill something that was living regardless of it's species.

Luckily, he noticed this opening early on, and didn't panic immediately, or else who knows, he may already be dead meat that was used as a stepping stone for others. If he was going to die, Yohan wanted to die with dignity.

But unfortunately, perhaps it was because mother luck didn't want to look at him especially today, no matter how hard Yohan searched he couldn't manage find a single bug.

It was as if those little critters were purposely hiding from him.

Fuck.
