Newbury's Academy of the Mystical Arts
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Newbury's Academy of the Mystical Arts"I wish we could.. but unfortunately my mana is completely drained except for a few drops." Shitea bluntly said. She guided the two of them out of the dark gloomy alleyway, and into what seemed like a foreign town that even Shieta has never seen before. Matching the vibe of the alleyway, the street was just as gloomy and dreary, if not worst.
"..Oh my." Shieta silently gasps. Now that was unexpected.
There were very little working streetlights on the side of the streets, much less any humans. Shieta didn't know what the town looked like when the sun was up, but now that sun went to sleep, the town seemed much more like a haunted land where the moon shines upon it adding a eerie glow to the establishments.
"Let's try this again." Her hands flexed by her side, a curl of shadow creeping up her wrist. "I said, one thousand."

"Woah... this looks amazing. I have never been to a town this big." She said, louder than it was safe to speak, judging by the bland street. Somehow, for the dancing flame, this was still something to marvel at. "I know those roads from my village but... they are so... even!" She thought back, as every street in her village (barring one) had, at least, a 1 in 5 slope. "Do you happen to know where we are?"
She looks back at the frosty witch, excited once again. How exactly one could have so much life in them given the circumstances is beyond the gods at this point.

You know the first rule in combat? Shoot them before they shoot you.
More and more speculations turned in her head, and the looming working streetlight above their heads started to flicker, and the wind started to pick up unnaturally, giving them a chill down their spine. Looking at Elvira in the corner of her eye Shieta sighs.
"Lets.. Let's find a motel shall we? We don't want you getting a cold." That is, if they could find one in this cold, dark, seemingly inhabited town, where there was no human in sight. There wasn't even a single house with their lights on! After Shieta double checked her pocket watch, only to find that it wasn't midnight.
"Behave, Emma, dear. Don't make me gag you."
Jack sat back down next to her, crossing her legs daintily, her mask perched delicately on her face.

"A motel? Well, it looks like everyone is asleep... but maybe we can find a place by following the lamps! After all, you can't have business in a narrow alley!" That was... a weird deduction. Not an incorrect one, just weird.
"So, let's go!" She smiles again, starting to walk in whatever direction the next streetlight was

Emma laughed quietly.
The auctioneer seemed to be rapidly going through the other students... most of which Lydia seemed to buy. How much moneydid she have???
But Kendo didn't show up.

She looked around. Any cameras? It was too dark for her to see clearly, and her head was so foggy. She grabbed a small wooden chair by a table with crayons and a book, and threw it against the window. Loud. Very loud. She hopped into the frame, wincing at the shards of glass poking through her skin and making her bleed. She had to leave. Go back to Kendo and Jack and the school.

It seemed like she had some endless pouch of coins.
But as the auction dragged on, there was still no sign of Kendo.
Lydia leaned over to Jack.
"He's not coming out."
She hissed softly.

"Where is he?"
Jack glanced over at Emma briefly. If she needed to, she would untie the prefect to help in the raid.

"Play along..." She whispered to her fellow prefect. Jack crooked a finger, summoning Lydia to follow her. She knew the art of putting on a show for the people in the room, and the more she acted like she was in power, the more power she had.

"This way," she said, directing the two in the direction of the basement. She slunk along the shadows, blending into the corners as the darkness appeared to be fusing with her.
