The golden portal at the palace sputtered. Once... Twice... Before spitting out some- one?

The figure landed on the ground with an "Oomph!" and the portal sparked one more time before vanishing.

The figure's body and identity were hidden by a large dark cloak, hood drawn over their head. The hood moved, as if the figure was looking around. Then the figure drew themselves up... And began floating above the ground. They seemed to be humanoid with no visible feet as it levitated above the area it fell onto...
