"Ladies and gentlemen, it is the pleasure of yours truly to announce the arrival of tonights star of the show, give it up for: PROMETHIUS!"

Solarion city, Guild hall, ? (A/P).m today

"Well, are we not innocents as well? You yourself implied a high mortality rate in this mission, thus the high reward, if they're that much of a threat to our lives and health, they're clearly not innocent." A bead of sweat slowly trickled down promethius's neck, she was pushing his luck, and she knew it.
The ashes rained down from the sky like snow, cinders scattered through the breeze…
And where was I? Burning in hell, of course.

"Mmm." He had a point, as much as I loathed to admit it. "You, Prometheus, have never been innocent for a moment in your life. But as for your fellow heroes, yes, they are. But in this world, you have magic. And as part of our checks and balances on magic, you are required service to the Council, and by extension the guild."

I kept my voice even, repeating back the doctrine that they had all grown up with. This conversation was beginning to enter dangerous territory.
It was never meant to be.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Kataraménos had seemed to find himself faded away into the background, of no use to the conversations at hand. He didn't mind, though, it all seemed to bore him anyways. Besides, he found it best to stay quiet and observe from a distance anyways, gathering information without giving much himself. He idly walked behind the group and listened to their ramblings, ignoring the sudden argument that had popped up and went ahead into the storerooms.

By the time he had arrived in there, the rest of the group wasn't all that far behind. He paid no attention to them though, instead looking around to see what was in store here.

Weapons... Ah, how intriguing. Finally, something here that caught his interest. He had gone ahead and sent to an area in the room further back from the group, deciding to observe in silence instead of engaging with that lot anymore.

Kataraménos had always been oddly entertained by these hunks of metal and other precious materials, it was part of his livelihood after all. He occasionally made some of his own as a small hobby of sorts, and his magic intertwined with said hobby quite nicely. And somehow, said hobby led him to be, what he considered, one of the more experienced blacksmiths in the land. Besides, given his day-to-day life, he needed said weapons quite often. Unlike what seemed to be most here, his expertise lied in his physical prowess, Kataraménos wasn't exactly one to "fight with magic". Seemed dull, boring, a bit too silly even.

Taking a quick glance at random things he had picked up, he could tell these were made quite nicely. They were made to be used, unlike the frauds he had commonly seen. Precious gemstones too, rare metals, elegant designs... He had to admit, he was a little impressed. Wow, who knew the most powerful people in the land had actual supplies? Shocking, right?

Too bad his attention was diverted to the familiar lady behind him, who had just entered the room.

"Good evening, heroes. I trust you're finding everything that you need?"

A silent scoff was made upon the title of "hero", but otherwise Kataraménos made no reply. He instead remained silent as another conversation began. He had to admit though, he was already getting sick and tired of all this "mage" and "mission" talk or whatever it was, it bored and irritated him to death.

Promethius opened their mouth to interject about them not being innocent, then closed it. They were wrong, they might be a gambler, but they're a nice enough person. Nobody actually recognised him as a normal erson worthy of proper respect. He stared down Franz for a few seconds before turning away, their mouth creasing into a firm line.

He was sulking. The goblin next to him tensed, eyeing me coldly. But even worse, I felt bad, because I know I had spoken insensitively. I could see Rem out the corner of my eye going through weapons.

"Prometheus, I apologize for my... harsh words." I sighed. "This wasn't my first choice, you know. To just send you off into the desert with... limited resources and communication. As much as you might not realize it, my actions are just as constrained as yours."
It was never meant to be.

Promethius nodded, the expression of unhappiness lifting off their face to be replaced by Promethius's poker face. "Thank you for the information you provided, i'll be sure to make use of it efficiently. I'm ready to set out now since i brought my own supplies."

Athena walked into the storeroom. She'd noted the conversation between Promethius and Serafina Magisteria, as well as the respective reactions from the others in the room as far as she could. Some facts were quite interesting, but it was generally what she was expecting.

She was still seething and quite very much ashamed from her outburst earlier, but since she'd already messed up, there wasn't much point to go back into hiding. She'd have to make an impression on everyone sooner or later. So why not sooner?

Nodding politely at everyone, Promethius and Paiyoon included, though slightly reservedly, she turned to Serafina. "Ms. Magisteria, thank you for this wonderful opportunity. It is a great chance to apply my knowledge and skills to real life. May I know exactly when we will be embarking on our journey?"

In most of the members of this assembled group's eyes, she would be coming off as trying to impress Serafina. Athena knew that completely and fully, and she internally cringed slightly at her words, yet they came out sincere and innocent. But what choice did she have? Despite all her great achievements, she was still trapped being a perfect princess.

Thérèse was also mostly in the background for the majority of the conversation. But not just because she had no real idea of how to integrate herself into a conversation like that... but also because she felt like listening and hearing out information is far more effective than speaking herself. She had little to contribute, she was just a coastal alchemist. Though when Serafina spoke about them being "required service to the Council", the Stormravener felt a little... insulted. No, that's the wrong word. Misvalued...? Unappreciated? Something along those lines.

She takes off her glasses... her eyes taking on a little golden hue. Her divination magic was now active but she just looked around. Trying to see anything out of the ordinary.

"Princess Lediana," I smiled, looking at the young princess. No one had been more surprised than me to see her name on the form. "We will be leaving tomorrow."

Eris tilted her head a bit. There was much they weren't being told... Maybe she should consult her Tarot Cards when she got a chance?

Thérèse nods at Serafina, taking down notes. The chemistry enjoyer was eyeing everything around her, looking for some sign of magic. Occasionally, she did see some but nothing that screamed malice or ill-intent. They were probably safe until tomorrow.

She just puts her glasses back on, the golden hue vanishing as soon as she did so. "Is there anything else we need to know?" Those were the first words that the bartender from Stormraven said in these walls, the first time anyone heard her soprano voice. It was filled with suspicion but showed little fear. It was more of an... inquiring tone.
