As Kleine was on her way home, she started to glow and soon Kleine floated up to the shore, "Wait what's going on?", Kleine asked as she continue to float upwards her appearance changed, she was now wearing an orange t-shirt and jeans with running shoes and her hairstyle went from burgundy red to ombre blonde, "Oh my gosh! What just happened? I thought I was in the ocean but now I'm in the shore", Kleine said and soon she screamed, "Oh No!".

As darkness fell and the difference between the ocean and the trenches grew more and more blurred, the shadows moved fluidly. A large body slithered through the sand, kicking up dust and disturbing the ocean floor. Silt billowed up around the dark figure as it stalked towards the sands. Anyone watching the sea from the beach wouldn't notice anything amiss until it was too late and a massive shape rose out of the water. A clawed hand gripped one of the cliffs overlooking the water and Ascelin hauled himself out of the water, water sloughing off his body in waves. By the time he had put wobbling feet on firm ground, all of the water had ran off the cliff, leaving behind a fairly scrawny looking boy.

Examining this new appearance of his, Ascelin was only slightly disappointed to learn that he was much much smaller than what he was used to. Just as he was trying to ascertain exactly what was going on, he suddenly retched, almost falling forward if it wasn't for his hand bracing against the dirt. Huh, his nails were blunt, he noted absently as he coughed wetly something stuck in his throat. After a few minutes of painful sounding hacking, bone white teeth, jagged and wicked in its build, lay strewn around the grass as Ascelin spat out the final traces of blood in his mouth. Unpleasant for sure, he didn't really put much stock into these sorts of things and only put the teeth into a bag that had somehow appeared on his body much like the annoying restricting things that wrapped around every inch of his body.

Still shocked by the appearance, Kleine was still in surprise but she was not alone, she sees Ascelin who also changed its appearance, "I guess I'm not alone, but what is Ascelin doing here as well", Kleine asked and soon sees the night sky, "Well, although the night sky looks bright". Suddenly, she sees something interesting, tessen fans appeared right in front of her, "This is incredible", Kleine said.

"Woah, I'm gonna try go out of the water." Sobble looks around to see if anyone was near him. "Yeah the outside water is tempting. Imma do it."

The water slowly grew darker as night fell. Kaori had been busy in the small little cave, collecting seashells and sharpening her knife, which she used as defense. It was a shiny sea glass-and-coral knife, sea glass being the blade and coral being the handle. The knife was used to fight off enemies of mermaids, and to gather food. The blade being sharp enough to pierce flesh, yet dull enough to not hurt herself while gathering sea cucumbers and seaweed, the main diet for the vegan versions of mermaids.

Back to the story. It was nighttime, and Kaori needed to swim quickly back home, before the water grew dark enough for sharks, a mermaid's greatest enemy, to hide. Swimming around coral reefs, Kaori soon reached her home, relieved. But that feeling of relief soon disappeared and was replaced with a longing curiosity. Kaori's house was very close to the surface, close enough to see the sunlight, yet deep enough to be well hidden. And every single day, Kaori longed to go above the water, and see how life thrived outside of water.

Biting her lip, Kaori quickly swam inside the house, which was colorfully decorated with small pieces of colored seaweed. The house was warm and cozy, and gave off a friendly vibe. Which was almost enough to convince Kaori to stay inside. Almost.

But curiosity took over her. Kaori grabbed her knife and hung it at her waist. She quickly swam outside, above the water. The night was beautiful. The sky was dark, blotted with bright lights. The moon glowed faintly, and the air was brisk and cool. Kaori swam in one direction, and soon, a beach came into view. A beach with a couple humans on it. Some of them seemed to be sitting, some standing. From Kaori's distance, it seemed like nobody noticed her. Good. If she was caught, her parents were so going to kill her. Painfully, slowly, torturous. And her parents would probably do it Asian-Parent style. With a belt, slipper, etc.

And in order to preserve her life, Kaori must not be seen. She slowly swam towards the beach, silently, barely making a sound. She made a sound only when she went onto land, her mermaid talk splashing slightly on the beach. But right in front of her eyes, her tail began to dissolve, and was replaced with stockings. After a bit of transformation magic, Kaori was now a measly two-legged human, no longer a majestic mermaid.

Sobble swam out trying to get to the surface. As he swam, holding the hammer in one hand being careful of anything trying to attack him. "Alright here we go! Wonder what's up on the surface..."

Kleine turned around and saw other characters turn into human, she ran up and asked, "What's happening? Our appearance have changed, how did this happen?", Kleine looked and stared at Sobble, Kaori as well as Ascelin, then she said, "This can't be happening, something is a miss here", Kleine curiously said.

Sobble looked around and looked at himself. "You're right, it seems as if we've changed into a form that makes it easier to travel land."

Kleine started to walk with her feet still feeling wobbly she started to walk though she is still shocked by new appearance, "How long do I have to look like this with the t-shirt, jeans and running shoes because it makes me look like I'm a sports star?", Kleine asked as she continued practicing her walk.

"We need to stay calm, we could learn how to move better on land." Sobble looks around and sees people wobbling. Sobble realized he's wobbling as well. "Woah woah woah I need to be careful this is pretty hard."

Turning his head at the loud sounds by the beach, Ascelin didn't even have to squint to see the small ants crawling over the sand, all much too loud for his liking. It seemed like even in this weak and vulnerable form, he still had good enough eyesight. Now, how to move. He had two pretty solid appendages similar to his arms attached to his waist now, much different to the sleek and flexible tentacles he was used to. He certainly couldn't propel himself like he usually could, not equipped with the right limbs to do so, but that was okay. He was always a fast learner. He had to be if he wanted some chance of survival down in the depths.

Hauling himself up by using a tree as a crutch, Ascelin took a few shaky steps forward and growled as the fabric gripping his legs prevented him form moving too much. What even were these things anyways, so annoying. But soon enough, just as he had predicted, Ascelin was walking around with little to no problem and made his way down to the beach. Perhaps those silly ants that were struggling along it could give him some insight as to what was going on. What he'd do after though.... well that really depended on his mood didn't it.

Sobble fell to the ground and winced. "Ouch that hurt me, I guess I'll start crawling or something. I'll try to stand again." Sobble tried standing and as he wobbled, he took a step forward.

Kleine continue her walk and her walk started to become much stable, "Phew! That was tough I'm starting to get use to walking in solid land which is somewhat of an accomplishment", Kleine said as she gets closer and closer to the rocks, as she did she walked around the rocks and made it to the boardwalk, "Hey I did it, everyone I made it to the boardwalk", Kleine said excitedly but she still hopes to see the land from above but also she starts to worry about missing life in the ocean.

"I should get some sort of a walking tool." Sobble finds some rocks and sat down. "Phew I've gotten better at walking on literal ground."

At the boardwalk, Kleine viewed the amazing view of the shore, "This is literally the first time that the group has been on shore but the question remains, why the appearance changed when all of us are on the shore because in the ocean our looks are different, but also how long do all of us have to be in our human appearance? There's got to be a piece of the puzzle missing in this interesting situation", Kleine asked.

"Wait don't tell me we have to stay like this forever, I mean there has to be a solution right?" Sobble tries crawling back to the water and gives it a slight touch. "Man I missed that feeling of water on my hand."

Kleine looked at Sobble, "I mean try to ask the others who transformed into humans and hopefully they might have the answers, but if there's no answers so far, then it will be turned into a waiting game", Kleine said with curiousity. Kleine continued to look around the shores and saw a beautiful seashell, Kleine picked it up and held on to it.

Sobble went back to the water and started floating on his back. "This... feels funny." Sobble looked around as he floated. "I feel like the human forms might be temporary or something."

Kleine was surprised but she was still curious about the shore life though she was starting to miss being in the ocean a lot, "I already got a bad feeling about this, I'm already starting to miss the ocean life but I hope I can get used to being in the shore life", Kleine said.
