So... You are dead. Long dead. But when a change in the government of the place you now call home gives you the chance to rejoin the world today, you immediately consider leaving the Afterlife. But some of you friends are more hesitant. And you want to leave with them. After all, what is life without the ones you love? But you have to either convince them quickly, or decide to stay behind, as the government is only giving you 3 months to choose. It seems like a lot, but as time passes, you realize how little time you have left. Here's your choice: You convince your friends to leave with you, or you stay behind with them. What will you choose?

But the 3 months pass by quickly. Only a day remains where you can convince your friends. They all say no, they prefer staying in the Afterlife than returning to the Upper World. Then that one day goes by, and your attempts were unsuccessful. Now, the government has increased security, making sure that nobody would even attempt to leave. But you somehow manage to convince you friends to leave with you. But the journey will be dangerous and risky... Are you up to this extremely dangerous quest to leave the Afterlife? The choice is now yours. - this was totally not copied from the sign ups XD


Kaori stroked Taro. The cat purred, and fell asleep. Kaori put Taro down on the bench she was sitting on, next to her. Would I have actually chosen to go back to the real world? she thought as she stared off into the distance. She looked at the many ghosts in the Afterlife, wondering how many ghosts had left. After all, she had overheard many heated arguments among the ghosts, arguing why they should leave. But she wouldn't. She couldn't. How could she face her mother after her death? She remembered the last minute she was alive. Jumping in front of the bomb just as it detonated... Her mother's agonized face during the explosion... The bomb's detonation... The bomb releasing such air waves that she was flown backwards, in pain... Pain, everywhere... Now taking her last breath... Becoming a ghost...

Kaori shook her head. She wouldn't go back. No matter what or how anybody tried to convince her. Meeting her mother again would hurt too much, especially after the bomb detonated. Her mother would go crazy, and she was positive of that. She had been sneaking into the governmental offices to check on her mother. Her mother was thinner, more depressed looking. And she was always praying at a shrine made for Kaori.

Athena was determined. She was going back no matter what. She'd had enough of this silly excuse for a government, and she missed her days in the upper world. If her friends wanted to come, she would help them. If not, fine. She'd stated her case, it was their life. But... There was one person she didn't want to leave behind. One person she wanted to take with her. One person who just wouldn't come. She headed towards the 'park'.

To annoy you.

Amber was sitting on the field picking flowers. She slowly lifted a daisy to her nose and sniffed it. She sneezed. Too much pollen, she thought and put it down. She then leaned over and picked a sunflower. It was almost as tall as her, and she gently put the stem onto the ground, feeling for the sunflower seeds. She then collected the black, round seeds and made her way to Kaori in the park.

Ayran was just grabbing his usual morning coffee, now that the borders are close, and people who wants to leave are gone, days should be peaceful.

He yawned, then shuttered 'Why do I have a feeling that I jinxed myself...'

Lucinda was sitting relaxed on a bench in the park, everyone was discussing about going back or not, and the government… Lucinda had a painful decision to make, her sister or her friends, she would help her friends and join them in the upper world, but staying was fine too… she looked at the others, many of them seemed to want to leave-

"Hey Kaori." Athena sat down next to her friend, and offered her some ice-cream, or as close as you could get to ice-cream in the afterlife anyways. It was really just dirty snow mixed with some food flavoring powder. She'd no doubt stolen it from someone.

Kaori looked up from her crazy thread of thoughts. She saw that Athena was right next to her, offering some of the infamous Afterlife Ice Cream.

Kaori smiled and took a bite (WITH A SHPOON). She handed another spoon to Athena so that they could share. When she was alive, she used to enjoy ice cream whenever she got it, and this was close enough to the ice cream she remembered. She shook Taro slightly to wake her up, and had Taro lick a bit of lice cream off her finger.

"So... You really aren't coming?" Athena really wished there was a way to introduce the topic better, but whatever way you put it, it was still the same. Are you coming or not? Is this goodbye? Athena petted Taro a bit, stroking his soft fur.

Kaori looked down again. "I can't bear to face my mother" she whispered softly as tears started falling. The memories raced through her mind again, images forcing their way into her memory. Her mother at Kaori's shrine... Her mother in therapy...

"But wouldn't she be happy to see you again?" Curse herself for never having thought carefully about Kaori's mother's situation. She knew what had happened, but not the details. She'd never wanted to push her friend too far.

Kaori kept her head down. "I snuck into the security camera office once, and I saw her. She was miserable, and temperous. I'm worried what might happen if she sees me back from the dead, and how she might handle it" she whispered a bit louder, but tears still fell. As her tears fell onto her lap, her hair fell over her face, and she started going back into her bad habit of moving her fingers around, like playing an instrument.

Kaori looked up, and wiped her tears. True, what good what it do if she stayed in the Afterlife. She nodded at Athena, the nod saying that she agrees to leaving the Afterlife, and help her mother get over things.

Kaori looked up at Lucinda. She smiled, for real this time, wiped her tears again.

“Geez, I wonder who always play around with fire that almost killed my sister- and who said we run around carelessly, boys run around with footballs covered in mud, tryna be cool. We’d rather stay away from those type of people thanks, but no thanks.” Lucinda said forcefully. A boy saying girls run around carelessly, is it backwards day today? Lucinda preferred to keep to herself, and boys, na uh, not her taste AT ALL-

Kaori heard everything. What Julius said, what Lucinda said. It was quite funny. How Julius thought all teenage girls ran around carelessly. That was 100% FAKE. She knew both Lucinda and Athena were much calmer, and very careful with their decisions. And her? She didn't know. She knew that a lot of people thought of her as mute, too emotional, a crybaby, etc. Besides, the man was probably drunk, or something. She wouldn't let that bother her.
