Natsuki had woken up, and already had a stubborn look on her face. She noticed her cookbook, notebook and pen rolled down to the end of the cart! Nat hated walking inside moving things, so she just slithered towards it, and stopped when the row of seats she sat on refused to go on.

Elliana looked out her window as the train moved, she always loved a good car ride so this was not much different, and wondered about the new people she would meet and potential friends. She wanted to find other students like her but she felt a bit anxious incase no one likes her.

Athena grinned. She always loved the sport, but she was never brave enough to try it, always worrying what other people would think. She practiced flying in secret everyday, so she was actually quite good at flying on broomsticks. Before she knew it, she words were out of her mount. “Want to try out for the house team?”

If there was a Guinness world record for most annoyed person in the world, she would be the holder of that title. "Gimme back my stuff, stupid train!" You could even see the anger mark above her face. She couldn't reach, even if it was to be only a seat away. Yuri always made fun of her for her height, since she in Yuri's eyes was a tiny dwarf.

The train continued to move, faster and faster. The students on board continued to reminisce and catch up. For the most part, all was peaceful. It was said by the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, Harry Potter, that the friends you made on the train would stay with you until death.

Banners and candles were being restored to the Great Hall. Professor Rubeus Hagrid, recently promoted to Keeper of the Keys and Creatures, had brought some real fairy lights into the castle for good luck. He was currently preparing for the journey down to Hogsmeade Station. As Hagrid lovingly hitched each thestral to its chariot, he remembered many past Septembers, all long ago.

Everything has a purpose, he told himself. He was not sure yet what would come from this year, but he was hopeful. And excited. Hagrid was always excited for the new school year.

Hagrid allowed himself to do what he did every year since the battle: remember the fallen. He had always been able to see the thestrals since his father died when he was young. But even if he hadn't been able to before, the Dark Lord ensured that he could. It had been twenty-five years, but sometimes it felt like it had been yesterday.

After hitching the last thestral up, he climbed onto the front chariot. With loud whoop, the procession began their journey down the mountain.

[Rules of the world: Hagrid teaches Care of Magical Creatures (3rd Year+), thestrals are winged horses people can only see once they've watched someone die, 2nd-7th years are taken up to the castle in thestral-pulled chariots, 1st years take a boat ride across the lake with Hagrid. FIRST YEARS ARE PROHIBITED ON QUIDDITCH TEAMS. <3]
