Blythe looked in another bookshelf, and Takai's head fell out, and Blythe investigated. "Looks like.. dagger marks?" She later found a dagger tucked beneath a bunch of books.

"I found a dagger! Another clue, detective girl! Also, don't mind the uhh... head!" Blythe yelled so everyone could hear. She put on some spare gloves in her pocket and held it in the air. "Dagger, probably used to.. dismember her." She muttered that last bit, remembering that she just lost her roommate, her.. friend.

Matsuki bit back the urge to correct Blythe on the gendering. They could wait until after they got out of the room, they figured. It didn't matter when they were trying to solve a murder. "A dagger? How in the world can one of those.. daggers aren't able to do this much damage."
They wondered for a moment. Given enough time, any sharp object could be used like this, but it would've taken multiple hours. And the scream had been pretty recent..

"Ohh.. oh dear.." Philomena covered her mouth, trembling. She glanced around, but she could feel a certain gaze burning against her skull. The calico-haired detective-type was glaring at her from across the library and she knew that there was certainly enough present to incriminate her.
But she was innocent! And she had to rely on her connections and charisma to get herself out of this mess.

Matsuki had only glanced at Philomena for a moment, but they saw her recoil in a panic. They weren't exactly a people person, or even particularly good with social situations, but that was either suspicious or a normal reaction.
They approached her slowly.
"Matsuki Akimura. Ultimate Newspaper Editor. Unless you plan on being helpful, don't talk."
Was that too harsh? Maybe.
"Ph.. Philomena Ambrosia, Ultimate Gossip Girl. I'll try to be helpful. Should we go now..?"
"Yeah, sure." They closed their notebook and clicked the pen again, retracting the nib. Tucking it behind their ear, the newspaper editor was already walking out of the library.
They trembled with fear and rage the moment they thought they were out of sight. This was vile, and justice was going to be served no matter what.

Blythe arrived at the area and stood at a podium. She remembered all of the evidence, that could be needed later. She then noticed everyone had a podium, too. She noticed 2 people with very similar blonde hair, which looked familiar to the strand. She glared at each one, and they both matched the evidence...

She eventually arrived at the trial room, wringing her hands together. There was another blondie here, so maybe she could push the guilt onto her. Besides, she figured that scary cat-person would appreciate her putting in at least some effort in. It was better than nothing, right?
As she arrived at her podium, she lightly rested her hands on it. She'd stopped shaking by now; having relaxed enough to appear at least somewhat calm. Besides, if this was a discussion, she'd be fine. Philomena was quite capable of talking to other people.

"No one told me this was going to be court simulator." When they arrived at the trial room, Matsuki was still lightly shaking. This frustrated them to no end, honestly, and they couldn't wait to leave this wretched room at the earliest opportunity.
They opened their notebook again, skimming through the contents before stopping on their notes regarding this case. Taking their pen from behind their ear, they jotted down just a few more things.
Multiple blondes. Blonde hair could belong to either.
Dagger may not be the only weapon. Check back on this later.

The discussion had started, and she felt like she had to start. "Uhm- I found the girl - I think her name was Takai's body in the library.. Uhm... her head was in between books, and I don't know where the others are..." She obviously felt uncomfortable, as she started looking down and twiddling her thumbs. "I hope this ends soon..." She thought to herself.

She glanced between everyone, twirling some of her curly blonde hair around a finger as she waited for affirmation or decline. Occasionally, she fluttered her eyelashes, a slight pout coming to her face.

"Stop her from.. I assume working on that book? Either reading it or writing it, I assume." Matsuki pointed to that information in their notebook. "How much does this help us, exactly?"
They tapped on the page with their pen.
"Personally, I think the hypotheticals are a load of trash. We're all total strangers right now, how are we supposed to incriminate someone we don't know the patterns of exactly?"

"Even if there are fingerprints on the dagger, isn't it reasonably difficult to check fingerprints and compare them when we don't have a database to go off of?" Philomena asked sweetly.
"I like the idea, dearie, don't get me wrong. It's just.. we're not professionals with access to the equipment. The best we can do is pencil and tape on a piece of paper, and that's not even a guarantee.."

Matsuki studied their nails for a moment, cringing when they noticed the orange polish was chipping. Well, they were due for a new color anyways.
"We can go that route if we have to. I have a notebook."
