Can you Giga Meowth with Everstone?

I have a Meowth with an Everstone that I’m currently getting up to lvl 100 so that it’ll be able to Dynamax after I can get the crystals for it, and I’m wondering if I have to take the Everstone off to turn it into a Giga, since the Everstone stops evolutions, and if I need to put the Everstone back on (or leave it on, if I don’t have to take it off) after I get Giga Meowth in order to stop it from evolving into a regular Persian.

Giga evo it when it reaches lv100, remove everstone then you gotta act quickly

Okay, so I do have to take the Everstone off to Giga it? But do I have to put the Everstone back on after it’s a Giga to stop Giga Meowth from evolving into a regular Persian?

I can see the 'Giga' button even though my (normal) Meowth is holding an Everstone. Maybe you can try clicking it once yours is strong enough to figure out if the everstone stops it or not?

If you need to take the everstone away, you need to give it back after gigaing. For some reason, Giga formes aren't stopped from evolving.

Yes we can, and what a coincidence i found out this by evolving my meowth only haha.


Also I don’t think you’d should worry about it evolving into Persian cuz it requires a lot more xp and unless it’s in your party and is a 2x day I think you should be fine


and CAT, My meowth is lvl 115 now and doesn’t have an everstone I don’t think it evolved

I am very confused. As some people have guessed, I don’t want to take the Everstone off of Meowth in order to Giga it because I’m afraid it might evolve before I can Giga it or after it’s been Giga’d and I’ll have wasted so much time and effort on leveling it up and getting the Dynamax Crystals, but I think I need to just in case because I’m really afraid that, if I try to Giga it while it’s holding an Everstone, it won’t turn into a Giga but will still take my Dynamax Crystals away.

Meowth is weird because it’s the only Gigable Pokémon that evolves through level up, but I don’t mind keeping an Everstone on it after it’s a Giga, because Everstones are much easier to get than Dynamax Crystals.

You don't need to remove the everstone. I got mine without removing the stone.
