"Oh- okay." Niwa looked disappointed. "Yeah, I guess we better..." He stood up, slipping his chopsticks onto his plate. He cast one last glance at the sushi and mumbled, "such a waste-" before pulling away from the table and breezing out the door.

He didn't wait for Keiki.

Koda blinked with annoyance. "Suko." She hissed at them, booping their nose. "Shush." Koda was now seriously wondering if it would be justified to sit on Suko, so they'd listen to her.

Kowai frowned over at Koda, pondering what she'd said. She should've felt some kind of emotion stir in her right then, but there wasn't any. She blinked with empty eyes.

That was just who Koda was, huh?...

Oh, Kowai wasn't intending on getting hurt either. She watched Suko leave. Curious...

Why would they just walk away from potentially life-saving news?

"I'll go after them," she told Koda, before darting off.

Suzume Fujimori's POV


Suzume laughed quietly. "Well. We could still be the Scientist-Cryptologist team. You analyze the corpses and... I analyze-- the corpses and everything else?" The words came out awkwardly, and her eyes shifted away from Megami.

Femi Davis's POV


Femi went stiff as a board. His eyes looked as dulled as though someone had burned them right out of their sockets. "I... came up with it?" His voice sounded dry and coarse, like his throat was closing up. "I...came up with it..."

"Sadly there aren't many things to be 'found', per se, in the cryptology world. Most of it is just old ciphers dead people wrote. The main thing i've been working on is trying to develop my own cipher, but no luck."

Hisoka Yamanaku




Hisoka's throat suddenly felt dry. "Did you not?" He asked, tinging his voice with irony that sounded fake to his own ears. "I assumed that was what you meant. It was heavily implied..." he trailed off purposefully.

Gods, he sickened himself sometimes. This- he should just be quiet. Stop lying, stop manipulating- but wasn't there more than Femi at stake? More than both of them?

"I apologize," he said coolly. "Your words confused me. I will go." He walked away without another word.

But inside, his heart flailed and sobbed like the terrified child it still belonged to.



Third Person POV




The hallway was dead silent. Niwa didn't move, didn't day anything, as the bright red leeched from his face.

"It does?" Niwa's fingers brushed his cheek. He stared at Keiki. "That's... really nice of you to say." It had fully vanished. He had the oddest expression, now- was something on Keiki's face? Or was he seeing something he hadn't seen before?



Suko Nobu




"So-" Suko prepared for a long rant about how they'd kick her butt and prove their total awesomeness. But the words just faded away.

What was the point? They were trapped in the present now. It caged them just as much as the past did.

And the future-

Suko swallowed dryness away. This was fine. This was all fine. They just needed to speak. "So, you wanna go see Monokuma's awesome decorating show and enjoy our awesome match after?" Totally awesome.
