Kowai Kurai's POV
But in her mind, despite the genuine terror and shock on the girl's face, she was shocked at something else. How much Koda cared for... her and Suko. She barely knew either of them.
And Kowai knew it right then. She ENVIED Koda. How she could care so easily...
How could she do that?
"Koda... I don't understand why you care about me."
She hadn't meant to say it out loud, and she hadn't realized she did. But she did.

"I don't really have a favourite genre, there are other aspects I usually look at in a book. I don't really have any textbooks or anything, but I do have an autobiography of one of the rocket scientists who helped send some of the first humans to the moon, if you wanna read that. It's a pretty good book."

But she'd love to read that autobiography with Megami. She knew she would.
She couldn't help but admire what an avid reader Megami seemed like. "And what other aspects do you tend to look for in a book?"
Suzume found herself distractedly gazing at Megami, not even noticing she did so.

Hisoka Yamanaku
Hisoka flipped the exchange over and over in his mind. It had happened. He had pondered over it for a long time, exactly how it might play out. This was one of the less likely routes, yes, but...
Still salvageable. Everything was still salveageable. Each event slid into its plastic slip, filling up the book. Kowai knew he was up to something. That was what was important. She didn't trust him, and yet she knew him.
She only knows that I'm a coward, he thought bitterly.
So she wouldn't think he'd hurt her.
She was correct. She would come to the proper conclusion, then. The conclusion he needed her to come to...
Koda was dispensible. It was time to find the next piece.
It came right to him. And apparently, Koda had blabbed more than he'd thought she would. Femi. The stammering doe-eyed fellow who'd tried to befriend him earlier. Hisoka's stomach twisted at each word.
"So," he said as coolly as he could manage. "You want to kill them, and have me frame Koda?"
Femi Davis's POV
But this was how all of Femi's memories reoccurred to him. It was raining, or it was gray, or it was black- or there was blood everywhere... shadows replayed in his mind, shouts and whispers. Words of rage, of suffering.
"N-N-NO! THAT'S CRAZY! I CAN'T- I can't do that... I ca-"
The whip cracked across his face. Another welt began to form. He tried not to scream in agony, as he used to. But he'd gotten more used to the pain by now...
Listening means the pain will stop. Obeying means the pain will stop.
"Y-yes, sir. I... understand. I'll... do it."
No one was ever different. He was wrong. People were wolves, every one of them.
Had... Had he been implying that? Killing them? Kowai and Suko had never done anything wrong... that he knew of. He couldn't just kill them both...
"Hisoka, no. I... I- we- can't do that. You'd all end up killed, and for what? And we can't just kill them... how would that solve anything? I think..." He breathed deeply, pondering it for a moment. "I think we need to figure out what they might be planning, and stop them. We... can't just resort to killing them. Unless- you're implying I got executed."
...
Would he be willing to do that?
To die, knowing all these people he barely knew would be safe?...
"I promised I'd be back, that I'd find a way out of here," Femi choked out to himself in a whisper. "I promised..."
But he had to help Hisoka. He had to help everyone...
"Is- killing them really the only option?!"
Suzume Fujimori's POV
Suzume giggled. Which sounded strange and unnatural coming from her. Especially... in a place like this.
She supposed only Megami could bring such things out of her...

But the pleading look in her eyes, it seemed so... genuine. The tone of her voice.
"I'll try," she replied with a bittersweet smile. You couldn't promise anyone anything...
"I hope they'll be okay too!! And you," she quickly added.

Gotcha.
"I never said that," Hisoka said coolly. "In fact, I was of the idea that you brought it up." He blinked at Femi. "Well, I'll take what you've said under consideration. You do seem genuinely saving-our-lives motivated."
He smiled at Femi. "Do you know where Suko is?" he asked.
Suko Nobu
"KODA!" They screeched suddenly. It was Koda! Their very bestest friend! They jump-tackled her in a hug. "I've missed youuuu," they sniffled. "You left Suko alone with Greeneyes! Everyone abandoned them!"
Then they pulled back and glared at her. "Traitor! Why didn't you help me?"
"Sushi's good-" Keiki muttered in between bites. "Not as fabulous as the pancakes but this'll do- I guess." Keiki paused. "I wonder what Monokuma has planned for us later- hopefully something to do with pancakes but I can't be too hopeful." They grinned. "What about you, tomato-face? You like the sushi?"
Third Person POV
"Isss good," Niwa mumbled through a mouthful. He was blushing rather hard. How odd. Was he choking? Why on earth was his face so Niwatoed?
Another loud cough and he drank more water. "Anyway! Your party is tonight, right?"
And then Monokuma popped up from a hidden trapdoor. "HEY! KIDDINS! IT'S TIME FOR THE EVENT! BETTER GET YOUR BUTTS OVER, OR YOUR FAMILIES WILL DIE!"
"My family?" Niwa stared at the bear. "What-?"
"GET OVER OVER OVER OVERRRR-" and then the bear popped out of existence.
