Mei lifted her head up and closed her eyes, which, paired with her grin, made an oddly sweet and innocent expression. "Awww, you guys really think it's me? How sweet! A little bit funny too~" Alright, that was definitely a hint at something.
She looked over at Darcy and gave an exaggerated frown, her voice having a more childish tone. "Aww, Darcy, you don't mean that! You love me, don'tcha?" The way Mei said it only seemed to be in a teasing way, like she only meant a platonic love, but she really meant it. She was only sugar-coating it so she could maximize the amount she annoyed Darcy. If the chocolatier said anything, it would only confirm it, and everyone would know. A subtle wink was made towards Darcy before Mei broadened her attention to everyone else. "Well, I won't denyyyyy it, in fact, I probably could've done it! Motives were supposed to be involved, right? Weeeeellll... Mine could've been super duper crazy or somethin! Maybe somethin like... Ooh, I eat people for breakfast, yeah, that could be it! Half of her body is missing after all~" Mei giggled a little then gasped dramatically, putting a flat hand to her mouth. "Whoopsies, I said too much! I wouldn't want you guys to know something like that after all!" At this point, Mei was struggling to hold in her laughter, small bursts of snickers were escaping her mouth.
At this point, not even she knew what she was doing...
While she was laughing her ass off, Kaoru said something quite... unexpected. She got it right that the death was at nighttime, but... Was that his only reason? "A lot of things had to be done"? Gee, so helpful, am I right? Might as well just be another one of those wild assumptions with the amount of evidence it lacked. Her smile faded, her head fell towards her shoulder, and she glared at the babysitter person, whoever she was. If Mei wasn't putting on this whole show, she would've gladly stepped in and do all the work herself. Too bad she wanted everyone to fail, even if that included her in the sinking boat. Or... Who knows, maybe she was the killer.
Time of death... Alibis... Hey wait a minute, why were people so reluctant to give their alibis? Akari was as silent as the rock that took the place of his brain, Sawyer and Darcy were bickering, Akora and Solaro weren't even saying much, and the former was more focused on the details of the body anyways, Lucian... Mei honestly had no clue what they were doing due to Daiko's inability to read, and Mika... Was just pointing fingers. That's it. Sutaraitsu was just confused. If she cared enough, she would've definitely tried to force alibis out of everyone, but she really didn't. She decided to just let Kaoru and Kubo talk or something.

Darcy Harper's POV
Darcy trailed off, quickly changing the subject. "Y-Yeah. Good point. A lot had... To be done." They became queasy, remembering Horatia's dead body. "The question is... What did the killer do?"
Lucian Arbred's POV
Akora and Solaro were right, however. They couldn't all jump to conclusions about who the killer was.
He nodded in agreement at the point Kubo and Kaoru brought up. "...I'd have to agree. If we're to assume that to be the case, who among us have alibis for last night?"
Sawyer Laurens's POV
Darcy wrinkled her nose in disgust. "Yeah. It... Honestly is."
"Anyway, uhh, I was looking for Kaoru's bag. And then I sorta wound up wandering about."
"I was in my dorm," Darcy added.
"...Kaoru let me in to my dorm, with her, last night. We slept there, together," Lucian stated.
Darcy looked over at Mei, paling. "...if you would actually kill anyone here, that is absolutely sick."

Mei sat for a moment, her usual, cheery demeanor returning as she swayer her head back and forth yet again. "Sooooo... You hate me? But you'd still make me some chocolates, riiiiiight?" She gave Darcy puppy eyes before everyone else spoke up, and she returned her attention to the rest of them. "Alibis alibis alibis... Nope, don't have one! No clue what I was doing last night~"
"Other than killing..."
There it was again, the sudden switch from a carefree to a menacing appearance. Geez... How edgy could this mfer get?
"...Kaoru let me in to my dorm, with her, last night. We slept there, together."
Oh my gosh, there was no way that guy literally said that out loud. Did Lucian really say that seriously? With a straight face?
Her face after hearing that led into another remark, one that made her laugh even more. "Oooooh, you slept with her? In these circumstances? Hehe, lucky guy, am I right?" Before she could say anymore, she was cut off by Darcy once again.
"...if you would actually kill anyone here, that is absolutely sick."
Her expression changed once again, but instead of menacing, it was just plain serious. "...Oh?"
"Well if you don't believe me... Then what do you think of the actual killer, hm? Would it be even more troubling to you if someone you believed to be a sweetheart turned out to be a cold-blooded killer?"
"Besides... Looks like someone hasn't done their research, I've already done the deed after all... And I could've done it yet again, who knows?"
Mei didn't return to blabbering on after that, she simply remained silent with her arms crossed, her head held slightly low. That was one of the only things that irked her, people accusing only the bad of being capable to do the dirty work. In all honesty, the ones who showed a friendly face with a knife behind their backs were the real threats, the one people should be disgusted with.

Mika suppressed a grin.
"That's a weird thing to say out loud, but okay."
He internally asked his roleplayer to give him divine inspiration on who the killer might be. The response was 'leeks'.
"Sooo, um, the killer had to be someone that saw Horatia with leeks or something, I guess. Or they could be really sadistic." He glared at Mei once again.

Kubo Atsushi
Kubo went rigid all over.
"Like a parasite," he whispered. "Went for the prettiest guy here. Latched on and she's goinna drain him dry."
His face twitched. He wasn't sure if he wanted to cry or punch that pretty little face. Tear those pink lips off and bash that tiny nose in, or throw his arms around her and beg for forgiveness.
Instead, he did nothing. He just stared at her.
Her face went red immediately. She ducked her head like a demure shy little Catholic girl.
"A-Ah. I'm sorry you got that impression. Though I do feel like- I care for Lucian, we did not... do anything of that nature. I'm sorry."
She, he noted, neither denied nor confirmed anything. She was feeling the situation out. Did the boy like her, or didn't he?
If he didn't, Kubo thought, well then-
Lucky guy. Maybe I'll put a knife through him, Kaoru.
Setsuna Jun
"Eh? What's going on?" Setsuna looked between everyone. Kubo was glaring daggers at Green Hair. Mei was snickering, as per usual. Annnnd... Oh dear, the pretty boy who had saved him earlier...
"Maybe we should work on alibis instead?" he suggested. "If... Well, I was in my dorm! That's confirmable." he sweatdropped. "My dormmate... was there? Maybe? Who is my dormmate-?"
OH GUITAR GIRL!
"Guitar girl!" he burst out. "She confirms me."
"I was in my room too." Miyako smiled. "Riiiiight? Miko?"

He was surprised it was even interpreted that way!
"I'm sorry, Kaoru. I didn't mean to imply that something like that happened." He crossed his arms and sighed. How frustrating. Poor Kaoru.
"...yes! Got it." He cleared his throat. "...okay. Anyone else who hasn't said their alibis yet?"
Sawyer Laurens's POV
Darcy Harper's POV
"..." Darcy didn't know how to respond to the chocolates part. "Stop messing around! Don't joke about killing people..."
Oh damn. She really didn't expect that from Lucian, somehow. Did he seriously just say that out loud?!
Then... Darcy heard the next remark. Her eyes widened.
"...shut up. Shut up. I- anyone who kills someone is just SICK. That's all there is to it."
Darcy looked at Akora. "...yeah. We're dormmates. I can confirm Akora's whereabouts."
They sighed in frustration. Sawyer really didn't get a lot of things, did they? Just by looking at Kaoru... she knew. She liked Lucian. And from Lucian's response, he'd basically just said, "I don't think of her in a romantic way, and I probably never, ever will."
"...well, I guess that's cleared up..."

"I dunno about y'all, but it seems I'm the only 'guitar girl here. Two things.
First, this ain't no guitar. 'S ukulele, pal.
Second, I don't see no guitar girl around here. You talking 'bout me?
Then address as 'guitar....master.' 'Guitar god'? Those'll work." Saeko grumbled.
Saeko scowled.
"Ugh. Yeah. I confirm June over here."

Mei refused to say anything, she just silently stood with her arms crossed and a dark look on her face. She was now in a bad mood for some reason, and it didn't seem like she would do anything useful any time soon.
There had to be a time limit for this trial, right? Otherwise... No stakes, we could sit here all day...

Akari stood silently as well, but his expression seemed more neutral and... tired. So... Someone finally got Mei to crack, and shut up as well. He would've expressed his gratitude, but he didn't feel like it was the time. He had multiple thoughts about the situation, but didn't want to voice any of them. Besides, there was too much talking going on... Akari obviously hated this much noise, but he was calm enough to be able to drown it out. Without covering his ears.
Once there was a momentary silence, Akari took the opportunity to attempt to clear his name. "I... I was in my dorm all night, Sutaraitsu wasn't there though so he can't clear me... I went in there immediately after announcements, so you guys probably saw me go in anyways..." Thank god he didn't try chasing after Mei, that would've been a mess. Still though... he really needed that thing back, especially in these circumstances. Too bad he wouldn't dare mention it to the other Ultimates, that was way too risky.
One other thing... He did see Mei go into her dorm as well, so she was pretty much cleared, but... Did he really want to clear her? I mean... It was probably for the best, since it was a high chance that picking her would be the wrong move, but... She was just so damn annoying, and if he cleared her... What the hell would she even say about it? With a shaky breath, Akari's low and raspy voice spoke once again. "I saw Mei go in her dorm as well, but I closed my door a minute or two before the lock, so..." He paused and looked over at her, and surprisingly, she remained still. "She could've went outside again, but I can't say for sure..."

He seized his hands, ringing them out under his podium. They wouldn't stop shaking. He suddenly got the impression that he'd start strangling himself if he let them go.
He faltered and they fell limp.
They're on the wrong track.
Miyako Hiroto
Miyako scowled at Miko. "I'll hit you," she threatened. She glanced at Setsuna who appeared to be being yelled at by the angry gremlin person.
Kaoru started moving out of the corner of her eye, and it took a moment for Miyako to realize she was speaking.
"We've established that the murder took place at night," Kaoru pointed out. "That doesn't clear your name. Instead..." Her eyes narrowed. "It incriminates Sawyer."
Miyako inhaled sharply. "Ohoho? Sawyer?" She smiled at them. "How interesting. Now that's a good name to say." She shot a glare at Miko.
Setsuna Jun
Oh... oh dear... Setsuna shrunk under their glare. Welp! Guess the second murder will be a suicide.
Second murder- when had he started thinking like that?
"Oh! Sawyer?" he blurted out. "Who's that?"

"...wouldn't?" Sawyer asked.
"No, couldn't. Like you're literally physically incapable of hurting a fly."
"OKAY NOW I'M JUST INSULTED!! THEN I DID KILL HER THEN!" Sawyer grumbled, crossing their arms.
"...Very funny, Soy Bean."
Sawyer muttered angrily under their breath, a pout upon their face.
Darcy rolled her eyes. "...how... can we figure this out? I know Sawyer wouldn't do this. It had to be someone else!"

Kaoru shivered internally. Kaoru's my friend.
She gripped the hem of her skirt. He didn't necessarily mean it like that. But as she stared at his face, at the brightness and openness of it...
"The murder had to have happened at night," she said calmly. "Because we have an established time frame. It had to have happened in the day, evening, or night. The killer had to attend dinner, if it occurred during the day, and been caught with bloody clothes. If it were the evening, maybe they could've gotten away with it, but there was a crowd outside the classroom at the time. The killer couldn't have shuffled a body out, even if they snuck away themself. But the night... that's an open book."
"Makes sense," Miyako agreed. "So that means it's Sawyer? They have a motive, no alibi, and plenty of lies to go with it." She smiled at them. "Jealousy, sweetheart, is not a good look on a suspect."
Jealousy? Kaoru wondered. She shook the thought off. "Anyway, that leaves the night open."
"Wrong," Kubo said.
She glanced at him. He returned to muttering under his breath.

But is it Sutaraitsu... either? Aren't there more suspects on the table here? Lucian tapped his index finger to the side of his face, closing his eyes in deep thought.
Who is it? Why isn't it occurring to me?
"It's not me!" Sawyer repeated.
Darcy Harper's POV
Darcy bit at their nails. Ugh... this is so frustrating. Who could it be? I know it's not Sawyer. I just know it...

"The motive is obvious. You got into a fight with her- and she harmed you." I'm not sure what the 'jealousy' comment refers to though... but I'll take it. "That's your motive. You have the time, the motive, and the means to do it."
She glanced at Lucian. Why is he paying attention to Kubo? She ignored the twinge of jealousy.

"Oh oh oh! We're so close to discovering the truth~ I can almoooost taste it!" She giggled. "What do y'all think? We vote Sawyer, get this whole farce over with?"
"Puhuhu~ Does this mean you're ready to vote?"

When will they get over these petty grievances and focus on the subject at hand?
He sighed internally. "What was Horatia's cause of death?" he asked everyone.

Lucian raised his hand, in a stop motion. "NO! Shut the f**k up. Kubo has something to say. I think we've got something wrong here!" He looked over at Kaoru. "...we can't risk that."
Sawyer shook their head, insistently, shaking, eyes widening. "IT WASN'T ME! I promise, IT WASN'T!"
"Let's hear it, Kubo," Darcy insisted, a desperation in her eyes. Just don't let it be Sawyer... please.
