Xyeneca Hybrids~
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Xyeneca Hybrids~Fail, after fail, after fail. All of the subjects were dying. The scientists were losing hope, scared that their dream wouldn't become reality. Until, the serum was discovered. At last, the first, successful human-animal hybrid was born. It was a huge achievement in the history of science. All were shocked, amazed, pleased.
But, they didn't realise that there were effects of this magical serum. Terrible, devastating effects, that caused the hybrid to turn aggressive, and began to attack its creators. The creature was eventually put down, and the plans to create more hybrids were stopped.
Until now. Few have been chosen to become the next hybrid. You have been chosen for unknown reasons. All you know is that the Xyeneca Foundation are attempting to carry out more tests on volunteers, to try and create more hybrids.
Slightly nervous, you volunteer, unawares of what will happen to you. You are placed in a cold cell, surrounded by other cells, in a large white room. Gradually, more and more people fill these cells.
Then the tests begin.
Pain.
Agony.
Anger.
Hatred.
This was the worst choice you've ever made in your life.

"Everything is going to be okay."
Drip.
Drip.
Laruius knew they were dead. Why else would everything hurt so much? Why else would everything be black in a world like this? Why else would everything be okay? Be peaceful, even? This... this was perfect. This was a fitting punishment for her fate... They would be reunited at last...
He closed his eyes-
Then a rattling sound pervaded their ears.
They jumped.
Their scalp connected with metal.
With a hiss, Laruius settled down, their hand instantly going to their head, rubbing the spot. Is it bleeding? they thought vaguely. He did have a headache, but surely it should come later... head trauma... characters...
In his confusion, Laruius finally realized where he was. He was in-
"A cage?" he blurted out. Their hands reached up and clapped over their mouth. They felt the bars of the cage, feeling the roof, the metal, the chipping plastic coating- He frowned. His eyes were beginning to adjust to the dark.
There was a faint trickling sound in the corner of the room. Focusing, Laruius peered into the shadows- He blinked. Was it just the light, or...? Was it... was the water red?
Even as he stared, it appeared to be changing forms. Shifting. Some monster was rising out of the liquid, out of the blood. Laruius choked-
And then the blackness began to creep in. The monster was staring at them.
"Help-" Laruius breathed.
And then they passed out for the second time that night.
The room was empty.
No one was there.
Except a small, curled up person held in a cage, dreaming of the punishment they'd receive for a crime a thousand years in the making.
She narrowed them a fraction.
Scanning her unfamiliar environment, she tensed.
Mirej remembered signing up for the testing, but didn't expect to be in a...cage?
Shivers went up her spine at the thought.
Her eyes scrutinised each unfamiliar face in each cell.
She knew no one.
Mirej's fists clenched.
Strangers...were a danger.
Then he began to whimper in his sleep. Names, words, places... he was shaking. References to a monster-
He rolled over. The cage banged against Kira's as he did so.
Wait, did I just hiss? Kira said, snapping back into reality.

"Everything is going to be okay."
Her anger flared.
She supressed the urge to scream.
The girl knelt down, putting her hands over her ears, and burying her head in her lap.
Her mouth opened in a silent scream.
The ringing in her ears grew louder and louder.
A sharp pain pierced her arms.
They started to ache.
She let out a scream of agony.
The tests had begun.
Kira had a feeling of pain in herself. Of anger. She screamed internally, trying to let her rage out. Kira was usually a calm and collected person; she never got angry. Well, not until now.
She could feel her anger rising. She knew the anger wasn't sustainable; nor was it ever letting go of her.
The tests had begun. The moment Kira was knew was coming, but she didn't want it to come.
Laruius gave a cry and jolted upward in their cage, nearly sending it tumbling back. "W-What's going on?" they wheezed, pain pounding through their head. "What's going on?!?"
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
The person cringed downward. They brought up their hands and clapped them over their ears. "WHAT'S GOING ON?!" he screamed.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
She wanted this nightmare to end.
Zak, Zak, Zak. The name echoed through her mind. Then sounds of laughter. Kira almost started to sob. You're weak. You will always be weak. The statements echoed through her head, in the same voice as her childhood bully. Kira screamed louder.
"HELP!" he screamed, choking. "HELP, SOMEBODY!" He curled into a tighter ball. "PLEASE!"
Mirej roared.
Her voice broke off, and suddenly she let out a large "CAW!".
She clapped her hands over her mouth.
Her vision suddenly sharpened.
What was going on?

Ky ran a hand through their white hair.
They were sweating.
The needles left purple marks on their pale arms.
Searing pains appeared in his mouth.
They doubled over, retching.
A foul taste filled their mouth.
They spat out a green-ish sort of liquid, which hit the floor, and began to sizzle.
Ky froze in fear.
"What the-"
They whispered.
Their pupils, now a sinister black, darted around the room wildly.
They could tell that everyone else was experiencing similar things.
(cats have night vision!!!)
She looked around, focusing. There were far more people then she thought there were. She almost stood up, but remembered that the cage was car too small.
Suddenly, someone yelled. Kira almost cried at the sound. It was far more loud than a regular human yell. She covered up her ears, a terrible ringing going through them. When everything went quiet again, she could hear many things she couldn't hear before. There was weeping, banging, and quiet sobs.
Kira decided this was all part of the test.
