Jackie clapped her hands with excitement. "Ooh, waffles!! How charming!!" She said. Veronica scratched her head, then walked up to DD. "Is she ok..? She usually doesn't act like this." Veronica said, worried for her ex-bestfriend.

DD turned to Veronica then looked back at Jackie. "I'm not sure. She..." Pausing, DD decided to twist the story a little, for Jackie's sake. "She left to go to the bathroom last night, but didn't return until early this morning. She seemed almost... traumatized for some odd reason, only to start to act all happygolucky like you see now." Watching the girl in question, she wondered once again what had happened to cause this strange behavior...

Veronica raised one eyebrow. "Oh?" She said in confusion. Jackie then finished her breakfast, and went to her dorm. Veronica watched as the happy girl left. "Should we follow her?" She said to DD.

The duo walked in the dorm. "Jackie..?" Veronica said. Jackie was on her bed, passed out with a bottle of pills in her hand, and some pills including the lid of the bottle. Veronica gasped and put her hands to her mouth. "Oh God..." She said, in shock.

Dd gasped and ran forward. She grabbed the bottle of pills, examining what they were and told Veronica, "Get the nurse!" before turning back to Jackie and trying to get her to wake up.

Veronica nodded worriedly, and ran to the nurse's office. Soon, the nurse and Veronica came back, and the nurse investigated Jackie's passed out body. Veronica watched in shock. She hated Jackie, but didn't want this to happen...

DD stepped back as the nurse took over. Why had Jackie done this? What had happened while she was in that realm through the portal? She turned the pill bottle over in her hands, looking at the label. It worried her...

The nurse sighed. "I'll have to take her to my office for further investigation. It might take a while to get her awake, so please be patient." The nurse said, as she lifted Jackie off the bed with her powers, and left the room. Veronica watched sadly.

DD grimaced. This shouldn't have happened... DD simply sat down on her bed, Fukuro hooting and cuddling up against her in an attempt to comfort DD.

Veronica left the dorm in anger and sadness as she slammed it behind her, ran to her room and fell on her bed, thinking about what happened sadly.

DD felt.. sorrowful for Jackie. What could she have gone through...? Unfortunately that sorrow slowly turned into pity. Scornful pity, which meant that she was trying to subtly take control. DD mentally shoved down the feeling and settled for monotonous indifference. Sure to outsiders it made her seem cold and heartless, but this was merely a facade to cover her actual feelings in the event that such would arise. Standing, and with Fukuro now on her shoulder, DD headed to the one place that could hold answers to the questions bugging her mind: The nurse's office.

Jackie was in a deep sleep-like state. She was breathing, but she didn't move a muscle. The nurse watched her carefully for any signs of scars, bruises, at least something. But then, the nurse saw something. Something that confused her. The mark on Jackie's neck was getting blacker and blacker. The nurse investigated it. Jackie was then having trouble breathing. What was going on?! The nurse called out to the other nurses for help on the girl.

Black blood game from Jackie's eyes. The nurses were horrified, but kept trying to keep Jackie stable. Veronica was walking around and saw DD near the nurses office. "What's going on?! Why are there so many nurses?!" She said.

"I don't know!" DD said, eyes staying on the mass of nurses. Whatever was happening was very very bad... Monitors were going crazy around Jackie's unconscious form. DD could see the black substance flowing from Jackie. What was happening to her?!

Veronica watched in horror once she got close to the window from the nurses office. "JACKIE?!" she yelled, holding back tears. Yes, Veronica hates Jackie, but it doesn't mean she doesn't care for her either.

DD grimaced, both at the situation with Jackie and because of her, who was cackling in delight at the scene. She also made comments about kidnapping Jackie to try to understand what was happening and how to recreate the effects. DD took several deep breaths, doing her best to suppress her darker thoughts. She focused her mental state into one of sorrow, of near loss, to better fit the atmosphere. She clutched her hands together, forcing herself to calm down and not need her siren call.

Jackie started breathing heavily, and started to scream. "STOP IT!! LEAVE ME ALONE!! DON'T HURT ME!! DON'T HURT THEM!! I BEG YOU!!" she yelled. Nurses tried to calm her down and get her stable. Veronica clutched her stomach as tears ran down her face. Other Queens watched from afar, worriedly.

DD had to suppress a dark smile that threatened to spread across her face as Jackie began to scream. Her dark urges were slowly gaining strength. She had to remind herself that Jackie was, and still is, the closest thing she had to a friend. With a few breaths, she schooled her expression to one of worry and concern.
