Royal Academy: Mages And Knights
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Royal Academy: Mages And KnightsKynik kept his footing, holding sword to his front, attention turned on the creature as it suddenly sank into the ground, a shadow of what it once was quickly traveling along the ground to his backside. He turned once again as it sprang a second time, this time leaping down from a tree. Claws hit metal again, the beast emitting a yowl of frustration prompted by the glancing blade catching flesh.
The man jumped back, then parried forward thrusting towards the creature's face just as it sunk into the ground again. A miss.
The next sweep was aimed down, glancing off the ground where the shadow had intended to travel and it hisses, a seeping wound to its right shoulder appearing on the shimmering form as it stood its ground in full. Though shadowed, it must have hit proper that time to have left such a mark.
Circling around, one paw placed at a time, it leaps once again, batting the ready sword to the side. But this time Kynik was ready and jumped back before the second paw could make its mark.
Aiming for the head a second time, he thrusts foreward, hitting the target's shadow right before it could move. A loud screeching yowl of anger is heard, the shadow traveling along its path in the tall grasses while the "prey" kept a wary eye, waiting for it to pop up again.
Agent Fallows, signing out~

Kynik's eyes flickered, darting between the different shadows looking for the darkest one. Right... No, left.
He twists on his heels, following the subtle movement of the cat that had taken to hiding.
Now forward - The mist of shadow magic sprung from the ground, the beast once again taking a harmful form as it attempt one last pounce. He felt the stinging heat as claws met flesh, the sword in both hands being thrusted upwards as the duo landed on the ground, a darker form covering the body of the student.
He looked upwards, panting. The sharp blade had met its mark, stabbing upwards through its throat, meeting the base of the skull. Red dripped down painting his hands and shirt as the animal struggled few moments more, paralyzed. Kynik himself would take a short bit in rest, stuck under the beast, stunned into soaking up the recent situation.
"Fighting a beast... really is... different from fighting a person." He pants trying to roll the 180lb creature off of himself.
"A Beast of Air?" Aspen frowned, cautiously bringing his dagger out; his too-long sword would only hinder his movements.
The raven snapped with its beak and suddenly lunged forward, generating a great gust of wind that would've slammed Aspen against the trunk had he not quickly swung to another branch, dagger out in front of him. The raven cawed and flew aloft into the air, rearing its wings and slamming them down. Aspen rolled behind a tree, avoiding a gale of monstrous power, then darted out and flicked his dagger into the air with his wrist. It spun through the air, yet only nicked the bird's wing, and the Beast screeched, an inhuman sound that thundered through the woods, jolting Aspen.
Aspen gritted his teeth, tried to ignore the sound, and reached for his second dagger. Luckily, the raven circled around once more and flew raggedly into the distance.
Earnest leaped back, heart thudding, as a huge fox stalked forward, amber eyes glowing. Wait, amber? Is that a Beast of Fire? His question was answered when the fox reared and swatted at him with fierce claws, a streak of orange fire aimed at Earnest's head. Grinning with delight at the challenge, he conjured a wall of near-white flames, then stepped through them, readying a second explosive burst.
The fox snarled again and bounded forward, leaping at Earnest, but he ducked and rolled forward, leaping up, turning around and slashing a white-hot bunch of flames, boosted with Energy, at the fox, which howled and turned into dust.
Adrenaline pumping through his veins, Earnest continued his quest, eyes wide with excitement.
Dear, Cherali
It was really hard to get that beast off you! No worries, however, I had a ball fighting it! Just a suggestion: DO NOT run away from those beasts, they run really, really fast!!! I almost had to use actual fire in order to kill it! Just be sure to stay vigilant out here in this forest and you'll be a-okay!
Best Wishes, Mrs. Spellbook
Cherali read the message over and over, observing what she just witnessed. What beast? Did the spellbook actually fight it? One phrase enveloped Cherali, "Mrs. Spellbook"
Who in the world was Mrs. Spellbook? Was her spellbook a sentiment ... book? Could it cast its own magic? Does the book kill the beast count as her killing the beast? Cherali shook her head, stuffed the message in the folds of the book, and got fully up to the floor to continue her trout through the forest.
After some fighting, the crows were gone and splattered all around on the ground. Elliot looked down and picked out some feathers that were un-damaged, and put them in a plastic bag in his pocket. Checking his watch, it was almost time for lunch. He decided to head back through the forest.
Juzi was stroking Ezria when suddenly she sensed something that wasn't right. She hopped off the tree and casted a spell to show whoever was in the meadow with her. It worked after a moment, revealing a porcupine with long quills that had a fiery aura around them.
'Oh..a fire type beast I see..' Juzi thought as she got ready to fight.
.
..
...
A few moments later, the porcupine was lying dead on the ground, and Juzi had not gotten a single scratch on her. She pocketed some of the meat into a container for later use and began to head back, Ezria following close behind.

Meet Hiko~!
“Oi,” Earnest growled. “What happened here?”
The boy looked up with wide blue eyes, piercing into Earnest’s soul. “A raven of Air came by, but I managed to force it away.”
“Then the hell are you doing?” Earnest snapped, roughly forcing the boy to his feet. “Get up. Unless you plan on failing your second day here.”
Blinking, the boy nodded, retrieved his daggers and immediately tore through the grass, legs pumping up the hill.
Earnest widened his eyes in surprise at the sudden speed from the petite-looking boy, then immediately snarled and charged up his fire, clearing the trees in one huge burst and racing towards the shrine in explosions of bright white.
He really is a Fire mage, Aspen thought.
He approaches a lift, stabling himself on all fours before pulling into a stand and grunts looking down at the beast whos dark affinity had given it the advantage of surprise. "I suppose we might need proof so..." He brushes a nose to his sleeve, trying to wipe off some of the ichor that had dripped down on him and makes a few repeated attempts to deadlift the beast.
The scratch in his shoulder however was hinderance enough that carrying this thing, as heavy as it was for any long length of time would probably prove to be a problem. The swordsman would end up settling, dragging the body by its scruff a few minutes at a time towards the direction of the shrine.
He would pause, surveying the direction he was walking, hoping not to run into anything else just as troublesome but the trees were at least starting the thin out.
His eyes felt droopy, and a few moments later, he passed out. Head against the tree, daggers beside him.
Juzi arrived at the tables, picked a tree and sat on a tall branch. She stroked Ezria as she wondered when the others would arrive.

Meet Hiko~!
"What brings you here, young one? It's dangerous." 'Oh crap I sound like a grandpa'
"Mama... papa... goan.... Rororo scared... Rororo mish em... bery mushh..."
After saying this much, she once again began crying. Tears rolled down her cheeks. No person with a heart would be able to leave such a child behind.
"I'll help you find them, don't worry." Samton smiled. He reached for her hand, intending to help her up.
A feeling of unease swept through Samton as he got closer. He felt as though his mind was letting out a blood curdling scream. He hesitated for a moment. Looking there once again, on the spot were the young child was, now stood a 6 ft tall humanoid blob. It seemed as though it was a mountain of poison which came alive. It reached for Samton, ready to swallow him whole. Its creepy smile from ear to ear paralyzed Samton, who fell to the ground. Its grabbed Samton's hand, opening it's mouth wide enough to swallow Samton whole. A huge bolt of extreme pain made Samton feel like his hands were being dissolved by acid. Samton fainted.
When he woke up, Principal Sparmi and Tien Sebas were standing by his side. Sparmi looked at Samton kindly and asked, "Are you alright?"
"Principal, there was this girl... but she became a thing... I have never seen anything like it... I nearly died, sir... my hands- they felt like they were gone, sir..." Samton was barely able to speak. His voice was shaky and he had terror in his eyes.
"You're fine now Samton. Nothing happened to you. Take rest for the day." Sparmi said kindly, put Samton back in bed, and went for the Staff of the Academy.
"Call all the students back. There have been far too many terrible things happening lately. We must no longer take chances."
"But still, how did a mimic...? How here...? Thank you, Spirit Spirimine, for protecting this boy of yours."
Spirimine is the name of the butterfly spirit of light. (Name origin: Spirtus Lumine (lit. light spirit)
The student emerges from the bushes, large beast as a makeshift shawl, stepping into the clearing where the shrine was. He'd look around. Surely he'd taken more time than this, it had felt like it had taken forever to lug this thing all the way back. There didn't seem to be many students who'd made it back yet though. He'd glance at the sky with this thought as the signal rang out for students to return. Wait what? Was it over? Or were they canceling early?
The brown haired man really had no idea unless more information was given. He'd need to check a clock at the academy to be certain if nobody confirmed it on the way back. He makes his way closer to the shrine itself before lugging the puma off his shoulders, dropping it on the ground and sits next to it, waiting for more students to return.
Well? Kynik could certainly take a break now. They did say they'd be getting breakfast after all this.
He sits waiting, waving to any other students that pass nearby enough to get his attention.

Xavier touched his ear and noticed some liquid, he quickly moved his hand in front of him to see what it was 'It's just a little blood. It must be from the continuous screeching the air beasts made, it's not a lot of blood so my ears haven't been damaged that much' Xavier started to make his way to the shrine trying to clean himself up
He has a few feathers all over him he decided he wouldn't take off all of them as they would need proof right? Though he didn't notice that there were a few feathers in his hair so he left that area untouched
