Tien grimaced slightly. the conversation had obviously taken a turn
for the worse. He turned to Samton, who only gave a weak smile in
return.
"I wonder how much of the rumours are true." Tien whispered to
Samton. The two had taken a few steps back to not be heard.
"It all seems to be. I still don't believe that they murdered one
of us, however. And Royal blood, well, everyone has an eccentric
uncle I suppose" Samton chuckled slightly at the last part, in an
attempt to diffuse the tension. He did not, however, interrupt the
conversation.
“Can’t attack me if you can’t see me dearie! And what makes you
think it’s brought in? The deed was done in the premise itself! If
I brought it in, it probably wouldn’t smell as lovely, or look like
that either. It’s still quite fresh!” Thalia cheers, before
squashing the useless parts of the heart, and pocketing (in a bag,
of course) the useful, worth it organs. “I’d reckon I’ll be able to
stay alive. I mean, isn’t my family the one who....oh but we can’t
confirm that, it’s still a rumour isn’t it?” Her eyes twinkle,
whether a threat or mischief no one knew
Kayeru turned to Samton and Tien who didn't look like they could do
anything about the conversation either, she let out a small sigh
before turning back to Thalia "but you are admitting that you've
killed before so unless you want to go to prison I would much
prefer to avoid conflict that you brought in yourself
dearie" she sorta hoped the professor would realised what
they were talking about so she could finally end the conversation
Thalia seems overall unaffected, letting her face sink back into
it’s usual scowl. She sharpens her nails with the blade of the
knife, before replying “I do imply indeed that I may or may not
have killed humans. But do you have proof? The last I checked, the
rule “innocent until proven guilty still held” After all, there is
a 50:50 chance that it’s a empty threat. You do not have proof,
only my word for it, pumpkin” Thalia purrs, as she seems to trim
her hair
Samton stepped forward and said "I think we've had enough of this
topic for the day, don't you think? Let's listen to what Principal
Sparmi has to say." Then leaning closer to Kayeru, he whispered;
"there's no certainty it does not belong to a creature of some
sort. So it would be best to ignore it for now."
Tien lowered his head slightly. 'I know how the nobility works.
If Samton insists on getting in tested only to find that it belongs
to a beast, then the nobility would question his integrity and
fairness. Not to mention, the rumours don't really help either.
Everyone would assume he is attempting "revenge"'
Kayeru was going to say something about how stupid it is but knew
it wasn't going to change anything god, what did i get myself
involved in? "well just know that many others may or may not
heard about this conversation so people will be paying attention to
what you're going to do from now on, even if its based off your
words alone" she said "I still think that having a heart alone
would still be kinda illegal" she whispered to herself before
turning to Samton "I agree, this is just leading us to nowhere" "we
should keep watch of her every action, we should ignore it for now
but still keep it in mind when interacting with her" she whispered
to Samton "honestly, how did she get in again?"
“Okay— Dawn! You came. How sweet of you!” Thalia crooned, picking
up the little fox. “You came too, Dusk!” She said, picking up the
small black cat in the other. Her scowl brightened upon being with
her friends. Dawn dropped a parcel into Thalia’s hands, and Dusk
placed a scroll. Thalia’s eyes brightened. “Mama replied! Let’s
open this later, okay? Not here, it might be dangerous, you know
Mama”
"That just shows how strong she is, as a mage." Samton whispered
back. The entrance exam tested students based on their strength and
potential. To pass was a huge deal, which proved every single
person there, including Thalia, had much more strength and
potential than your average citizen.
Sparmi finally reached the conclusion of his welcome speech.
"Before we wrap this up, I would like to inform the first years of
the Annual Student Exchange Program we have with our neighboring
nation, Trystiana. There will be competitions held here in a
month's time, and all the students are welcome to try out. There
will be a huge array of competitions, so remember to take a look at
the notice board, which carries all necessary information. The
student exchange will follow suit. Consider this a time to discover
the culture and practices of a neighbor. Do not pass up this golden
opportunity. With that, I bid you all a wonderful year ahead!"
Sparmi waved his hand, and immediately, tables from within the
shrine flew in. An open-air buffet, filled with food that rivals
what is served at the Royal Palace. All hard work shall be
rewarded.
"strong mage or not can we just agree shes a psycho?" Kayeru
whispered back, as someone who grew up in a household which
revolved around magic she obviously knew every mage(and knight by
that extend) here are incredibly powerful, even so she doesn't
understand how Thalia on in based off her suspicious nature but
whatever, the food is here and she will ignore the conversation for
now. She casually grabbed something off one of the tables and began
eating
"Maybe that's exactly why..." Samton thought, reaching for
the appetizer, eyes amiss and deep in thought, "... she was
accepted."
"There wouldn't be a better place with stronger mages and
knights around than here, except perhaps the national prison and
the royal palace. Either place would not be fit for her. So then,
accepting her here under strict supervision might have been their
plan. I just hope it won't get anyone hurt."
As Samton kept moved from dish to dish, consuming them in a way
befitting the prince, he could not distract himself from the
thought. If push came to shove, he'd do what it takes to protect
everyone. He does follow the light spirit, after all.
Light vs Darkness
The fight between light and darkness began much before any of us
were even born. The Butterfly, light incarnate, and the Black
Panther, darkness incarnate, have been fighting for dominion over
the world since the beginning of time. Day and Night are believed
to be a result of their constant struggles.
However, the presumption that 'Darkness' means 'evil' and 'Light'
means 'good', is false. Magic spirits do not have an alignment. It
is what you decides to use your abilities for that makes
magic "good" or "bad"
Xavier looking at the array of different foods on the table really
only picked up a few pieces of bread to eat. He wasn't comfortable
yet eating anything else since he thought it would be rude to eat
anymore than one dish as other students would want to eat some too.
He quietly ate his bread a little ways away from the crowd of
students getting food. He would look around while eating to get to
know the area a bit more as well as seeing how many students were
there
Having watched the chaos between the mages unfold, Aoife bit her
cheek and wandered off towards the food, not before mentally noting
who it would be worth avoiding if she ever wanted to go home
intact. It wouldn't have surprised her if the 'crazy one' had been
a distant relative of her birth family. She certainly seemed to
have that bloodlusty vibe about her, regardless of whether or not
she had, in fact, been to one to - uh - obtain the mutilated organ.
Would Aoife have turned out the same if she was still associated
with the Seighin family? It was an interesting, yet disturbing
thought.
Her eyes glaze over the tables dressed with all kinds of foods,
most of which she'd never been in the position to try before. On a
whim, she picks up something that was seemingly popular. It could
only mean that it was good, right?
'Speaking of which, I wonder how they'd feel if they ever found out
that a Seighin was planning on becoming a knight..'
Riley was quite excited to see not just food but a whole buffet.
She wasn’t even sure when she started getting hungry but her guess
was around when she saw all the food. She grabbed a fruit and a
chicken leg and started eating.
"Woah..." Cherail murmured underneath her breath, she walked over
to the table and grabbed a biscuit. It was a plain biscuit, with a
golden-brown, flaky surface and a poofy, airy middle. The mage
smiled as she ate it, it wasn't buttered nor had jam but was great
to eat.
I may seem like a bunch of useless text, but I LIVE HERE and I
don't welcome visitors >:(
Soon, the more popular food items were nearly finished. Seeing as
there was only one last french fry, Sparmi took it and ate it.
Immediately, the table flew back in, and another returned with a
fully refilled plate of french fries.
"Principal Sparmi sure loves a show, huh?" Tien's words were met
with a chuckle, as Samton reached for some dessert. Aah chocolate
ice-cream. Certainly the best invention of them all. "It's easier
to show than to say, I suppose," Samton responded before digging
into the cold and lovely ice cream he enjoyed so much.
zane was eating a small sandwich it was enough to stave of his
hunger and after eating he wears a white mask and he covered
himself in a small layer of darkness magic , he was still in the
crowd but he wasn't interacting with anyone 'don't talk to them '
he thought as he went to a chair where he could sit

Thalia swept by everyone, taking her food of choice before walking
back to a corner to eat. She swept along gracefully, daintily, much
to their surprise. The moment she sat down, Dusk and Dawn
immediately leapt into her lap, looking innocently, and hungrily at
Thalia. Thalia chuckled, giving them some food, before taking a
dumpling from her plate and eating it. The meat was juicy, and the
filling delicious, a light taste of sweet blended with savory, not
too cloying, carrying a light aftertaste of ginger and garlic. She
sipped a cup of green tea, somewhat like those empresses from
chinese dramas
As everyone finished eating Sparmi stood up once more, to talk. "My
dear students. I hope you have had a wonderful meal. Tomorrow, you
start your first year at the Royal Academy. There will be morning
exercises for the knights as well as the mages. Just because you're
a mage, you shall not neglect them. With that out of the way, you
will be lead to the dorms by Professor Angler and Sir Fisch. Have a
good night's rest."
The mages followed Prof. Angler, while the knights followed Sir
Fisch to their dorms respectively.
"See you soon, You- Sam." said the slightly embarrassed Tien. It
was still rather hard for him, not calling Sam 'Your Highness'.
"Good night, Tien!" Samton smiled and then followed Prof. Angler to
the dorms.
