Chelsea tore her eyes away from the sky, turning them to Akiro. His words settled deep within her heart, filling her with joy. She stepped forward, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and kissing him. Everything would be alright. They were going to escape with each other. They were free.

Akiro pulled her closer to him, kissing her back. This was the happiest he had been yet, and he had no doubt that with her, he would be even happier as they left this death trap. Time seemed to stop for him, and he couldn't stop smiling. Akiro was going to escape with the person who had taught him to trust, and he wouldn't have it any other way.

She gave a simple nod before looking back at Rui, struggling to get back up so she could stand properly. “I’m not sure... She looked up at...” she stopped, realizing that Jacovin would have no clue what she was talking about. “The dome broke and a large hovercraft came down, I’m assuming to get us out of the arena....” she explained, continuing to stare at Rui. “She saw it and started crying... she looks upset...” she said sadly, wondering how messed up her head was to be upset about being free. She looked down at the dog, then back at the two tributes that had followed her. She wasn’t all that fond with stuff like that, but she was happy for them. Both of them didn’t have the pleasure of being loved as much as she was, and now they had a chance to be happy again.

Jacovin seemed to flinch. "The dome broke? I thought it was supposed to be impenetrable?" He still didn't turn his head, though he did open his hand when Liali pushed her nose into it. As his hand rested on the wolf's head, he listened closely. There was no sound of guns, no sounds of screaming or of death... Were they really that safe?

The warm embrace of Akiro's arms filled Chelsea with joy, his kiss sending her back to the blissful peace they'd had in the desert temple. Tears of happiness and joy were making their way down Chelsea's cheeks, her smile never growing dim. They were about to be free. Free, with each other. They were safe from the touch of the Capitol. The tributes here only wanted to escape. They didn't want to win. They wanted freedom, too. Everything was still beautiful and perfect, and freedom hovered over their heads, descending slowly as the two kissed.

Akiro was unpertrubed by the sound of the hovercraft, all that he could think about was Chelsea in that moment. The same burst of joy from the desert temple filled him, and while he was desprate to leave the games, he didn't want this moment to end. He had forgotten what it was like to be wanted, to want to be with someone. And now, he didn't want to leave Chelsea for the rest of his life. Akiro would deal with Ashley later. Right now, there was someone else he wanted to think about.

“I’m shocked too but... Nothing bad seems to be happening...” Lesia muttered, looking back up into the sky, then at Rui. “Rui... what’s wrong?” Her voice was stern this time, like she was demanding an answer. She knew that she shouldn’t push, but she was concerned. All she wanted right now was to see her happy, but she knew she wouldn’t see that just by talking to her.

Rui was quiet for a bit before she lifted her head and answered. “That thing will take us out of here, right...?” She asked, like not even she was sure it was safe. After a small nod from Lesia, another tear made its way down her face. “Don’t let me go on there... I can’t go back... I...” she swallowed a lump in her throat before continuing. “Let me die here... please...”

Chelsea leaned into Akiro, holding both of them tight to the other. 'This is perfection, in the purest form,' thought Chelsea. Indeed, it was a moment of pure bliss. She didn't see anything but the one she loved, the one who she'd literally bumped into. It had been small, then. It had been nearly meaningless. But that boy there in the Capitol had drawn the twisted malevolence out of her, brought her back to who she had been. And she loved him for that, loved him because he'd taught her how to love properly.

Jacovin choked on his tongue, hearing the words that Rui spilled. A fire lighted itself within his heart, a small drip of rage tingling on his tongue. "None of that," he snapped. "You are going to stand up and go to that hovercraft. Is that clear?" His voice gained an edge never seen before, as if somebody had acted up, and he were the drill sergeant. He still didn't turn his head, though his voice carried just as much power. "Now enough with the weeping, and stand up. Now." His face was twisted slightly with a stern glare, though it still faced straight ahead.

Lesia nearly jumped in surprise when she heard Jacovin’s voice, shocking her with how serious he was. “He’s right... You’re not dying, and you’re coming with us. I don’t care about what you think of yourself, you don’t deserve any of it. Get up, we’ll use brute force if we have to.” Her voice started to harden as well, it wasn’t as intimidating as Jacovin’s but it was still effective.

Rui lowered her head to reach her knees, firmly clasping her hands over her ears. The tone terrified her, striking fear into her core. That tone was all too familiar, but she saw it as something that was dangerous and terrifying, something to avoid. “S-stop...” she managed to let out, her body very subtly shaking. Fearing what would happen if she didn’t, she did her best to stop crying, and wiped the tears away before standing up. It was almost like an instinct, something she couldn’t exactly control. She wanted to protest but those words seemed to stun her, leaving her unable to say anything to oppose it

As Chelsea leaned into him, Akiro looked down at her and smiled. This girl was amazing. She had taught him to trust again, that he could open up to someone without getting hurt. All of the things that had made his life miserable, they felt like nothing now. She was a miracle, something that he never would have dreamed of before. All that he could say was, "I love you, Chelsea. And I can't wait to leave this place with you."

Chelsea smiled, muttering into Akiro's chest, "I love you too." She was safe here, and he was safe too. They were all safe, now. The sound of the hovercraft became silent in their own little universe, again drawing them into perfection. It was lovely, the idea that nothing could stand between them now. They were alone, even if they weren't.

Jacovin held still as Rui stood, his hand now resting on Liali's head. The wolf was tall enough-or the Tribute was short enough-that she could lead him from there on.

Akiro's past was running through his mind as he stood there, holding Chelsea in their own little bubble of peace, like a high-speed slideshow. There was still a lot of hurt in there, fueled by his mysterious nightmares, but for once, it didn't bother him. He turned his attention back to Chelsea, still smiling. Even if he had a lot of scars, both physical and emotional, he wouldn't let that stand between them. It was hard to belive, but maybe his past shouldn't haunt him anymore. Whatever the case was, he was happy right here and now.

Rui had her gaze fixated on the ground below her, tears still going against her will and falling down her face. She wanted to reject Jacovin and Lesia so badly, just to finally have some peace, but she couldn’t. She was forced to listen to them and live. Not only that, she still had hope and that annoyed her. She kept telling herself that no matter what she did, she would still be miserable but that didn’t do anything. A very small part of her wanted to live and she hated it... She didn’t want to go back to her parents, she didn’t want to go back to a world where she would be punished and ridiculed just for trying to survive. Even if she was allowed to go back to someone else, why would they want to deal with her? Tears continued to fall, no matter how much she swept them away or tried to stop them.

Lesia gave a sad smile as Rui began to stand up, unsure of what to do now. She knew she wouldn’t be able to change her mind, but at least she was listening to them. She continued to look between Rui and the hovercraft before she began to hear soft sniffles. She looked down at Rui and the smile immediately faded. “Rui...”

Jacovin led the way, guided carefully by the large wolf at his side. Occasionally, she ducked out from under Jacovin's hand to nudge Rui forwards a little, as if trying to teach a newborn how to walk. She kept walking large circles, from Jacovin to Rui and back again. While Jacovin did make progress, it was slow, with his guide constantly vanishing.

As the hovercraft descended above them, Chelsea felt her hope swell again. Their escape was directly above them, approaching with every passing moment. Only two thoughts occurred to Chelsea at that moment. How comfortable she felt in Akiro's arms, and how much she wanted to kiss him again. So she did. She pulled back ever so slightly, then leaned forwards and kissed him. To her, the feeling would never fade. It was pure bliss, packed into a single action. And she never wanted it to stop.

Lesia watched as Jacovin slowly moved forwards and immediately gave herself a mental facepalm. She quickly went over to him and gave him an indicator that she was near him, willing to help. She continued to keep an eye on Rui, knowing she would still most likely not come with them.

The hovercraft was droning out all other sounds as it descended, but to Akiro, that was just another perfect detail. He kissed Chelsea back, on the verge of tears of happiness. The sounds of the hovercraft just made the fact that he wasn't going to die this young even more real and perfect. He was going to leave with Chelsea, the one person who mattered to him most.

Very slowly, the hovercraft lowered itself until it was close enough to the ground where the tributes could climb a ladder to get up.

Rita and Co had arrived around the time the dome had gone down, Coraline was leaning against Bella for support, though she still looked like hell.

Jacovin gratefully accepted Lesia's help, allowing Liali to bother Rui and get her to walk. Jacovin couldn't help but ask, though. "What is your name?"

Chelsea looked up, the hovercraft quickly starting to fill. Taking Akiro's hand, she lead the way to the ladder, grinning the entire way. They were so close to being free, just a short walk and a climb. Turning to look briefly at Akiro, she giggled. "You're going up first this time."

“Oh, sorry about that... I’m Lesia.” She replied with a smile, giving herself another facepalm when she realized she forgot to say who she was. She had a hard time making sure Rui, Laili, and Jacovin were still following. She couldn’t feel his hand on her shoulder due to it being metal, and the dog’s wild movements were very distracting, keeping her from having an eye on Rui as well. A few times, she had to call her name to snap her out of it and get her to follow, which concerned her. She continued towards the hovercraft, seeing that it was low enough to get inside. “We’re almost there...” she told Jacovin before looking back at Rui, who was pretty far behind. “Rui, come on! We’re almost there!” Even then, she didn’t budge. Lesia stopped for a moment, thinking about what she should do. “Wait here, I’ll be right back” she told him before slowly approaching Rui. “I meant what I said. You. Don’t. Deserve. Any. Of. It.” She said firmly. She tried to move her arms over Rui’s shoulders to comfort her, but she forgot that they barely worked at the moment. “Guess I have to force you, don’t I...” she muttered quietly to herself, doubting Rui didn’t hear her as well. With a bit of trouble, she managed to get Rui on her back and carry her over to Jacovin, who she allowed to have his hand on her shoulder, then moved forwards.

Akiro let her lead him to the hovercraft, blushing a little before taking the ladder and pulling himself up into the hovercraft, once he had, stepping back a bit and waiting for Chelsea to come up. He still couldn't believe that they were this close to getting back, to escaping the Minegames. He briefly wondered who it was that had broken the dome, but pushed the thought out of his head. That wasn't important.

Clambering up next to Akiro, Chelsea sat down with a huff. "Awfully long ladder there." She smiled, then looked at Akiro. "Oh, that was a great view by the way." She couldn't help herself. Even if the twisted parts had been banished, she still liked teasing. It was in her nature now.

Jacovin nodded, then froze as Lesia vanished. When she came back, he did notice that the progress was slightly slower, and that Liali had returned. Her panting was loud enough for Jacovin to know she was there. After a few moments of piecing it all together, he asked, "You're carrying Rui?"
