"That's very brutal and disgusting" Kayda agrees. "But fixing your wing is important so I'm going to do it anyway. I promise I won't vomit." This was at least something she could do, she was familiar with wings, and knew how they should look. She did have Tenacity's other wing as a reference too. She hesitates when she places her hands on his wing. She doesn't want to hurt him, but there could be too many complications if she didn't do this. "I'm doing it in three, two, one-" with a sickening crack, she manages to tug the bone into place. She visibly flinches at the sound, and meets Tenacity's face with wide, apologetic eyes. Did I hurt him?

Tenacity blinked, then shuddered. "I guess I'd better than my lucky stars that there's no nerves in there.." He shuddered again, then glanced around. Swallowing hard, he turned back to Kayda. "Don't worry, you didn't hurt me." His voice said the same, as did his eyes. Glancing around again, Tenacity sniffed. A frown washed away his neutral expression as his left hand went to his nose. "Dammit.. Now?" He had pulled his hand away, then looked down at it. A black liquid was on his knuckle, where he had touched it to his nose. He gave Kayda an apologetic look. "It's just one thing after another, eh? I'll go look for sticks to make that brace.."

Kayda nods, stepping back to let Tenacity pass. But when he has his back turned to her she speaks. "I'm not going to look past that anymore. Something is obviously wrong Tenacity. What's happening?" She asks. It seemed to have all started the day before the private sessions. He had rubbed his nose with his normally gloved hand. She knows the extent of his powers from his memory, he knows that.

Tenacity stopped in his tracks, his shoulders slouching a bit. Turning, he held up the corrupted hand. "Corruption." Tapping the right side of his face, he gestured to the eye. "Purity." Spreading his wings, his voice became somewhat haunted. "War, Imbalance." Looking into Kayda's eyes, he explained further. "The wings are useless, they do more harm than good. The Corruption despises the Purity, and vise versa. Corruption tries to destroy Purity, Purity tries to destroy Corruption. Wings flourish. I don't. Every time one of the parts takes a strike at the other, it does something. A black liquid from my nose, bruising around my hand... It varies. Eventually, the Corruption will have taken up the outer areas of my body, while the Purity takes the inside. The wings will be massive, and my body will be lighter. I'll be able to fly, but..." He trailed off. "But I'll be the embodiment of the word 'abomination.'"

Meg continued sleeping and then her family disappeared and she looked for them and saw her uncle killing her little brother over and over agin. She was having a nightmare .she tired to run away but they scene was all around her.she woke up and jolted awake crying.

None of that sounded good to Kayda. But what was she expecting? She takes a deep breath, finding that was unable to hide her worry. "Okay" she says calmly. "Is there any way that we could stop this?"

Tenacity looked thoughtful for a moment. "One way, that I can think of." Holding up his right hand, he drew an invisible line around the edge of the Corruption. "Take it off maybe." After a moment, he set the hand back at his side. "Unless there's some type of cure-all for mysterious powers." He shrugged, gave a half smile. "I'll be at least thirty-three when the whole thing is over.. I've seen it in a dream from the Purity. Along with a sort of voice, begging me to get rid of the Corruption." He shook his head, as if this were no big deal.

"Thirty-three!? Tenacity! That's barley a life! And who's to say that you'll even be able to enjoy that full life, since it won't take long for the corruption to mess up your life!" Pain fills her eyes as she says these words. "Are you seriously okay with that? You don't have a lot of time left!" But what did that leave? Cut off his arm? Kayda didn't want that to happen either.

Tenacity shrugged. "I don't really have a choice. I can't see how getting rid of my dominant hand would do me much good, since I can't really write or anything with my left hand. Besides, if I'd gotten the dream earlier in my life, I would have done something about it. It started in the very edge of my fingertips, and if I'd known it was bad, I'd have just bit my fingers 'till it was gone. Now, I can't do anything about it." The dead eye sparked to life suddenly. 'Show her.' Tenacity blinked. "Do you mind if we do a Swap?" He gestured to the dead eye.

"Something tells me I'm not going to like what I'm going to see." She was going to allow the memory switch of course. She wanted to understand, needed to understand. How could somebody like Tenacity deserve the power of corruption. Hiw could he even get it in the first place? She hoped that this would answer it. As she gazes into his eyes she can only think of one thing:

-The strong and quite foreign feeling that Kayda felt when she looked at Tenacity during her interview as she privately spoke to him about she truly felt. She wanted to guess that this feeling was love, but it was still far too early to tell. Still, the feeling was strong and everything Kayda needed to continue to push herself through the Games.

Tenacity brought forth the memory of the dream, a prediction by the dead eye. As soon as the memories were brought up and eye contact was made, they swapped.


Darkness surrounded a figure, their head whipping back and forth, hoping to see. A white orb appeared in front of them, enveloping them. Then, something past the identification of 'human' stood before the viewer. Two enormous, black wings were pulled tight against the back of the beast. Then, a light appeared, revealing the figure. Their face was locked in a dark gaze, a sad, neutral frown settled across their mouth. On their head, there were two horns, similar to a dragon or devil. Holding up their right hand, the being revealed five long talons, each as sharp as a razor. Their eyes opened, both blanks white. They were trapped within this body, forced to try and save the man that once stood there. The wings spread, reaching nearly sixty feet across. The figure stood up as straight as they could, nearly reaching eleven feet tall. One flap of the wings sent them skywards, leaping into eternity as the white orb from before slowly closed. After a moment of darkness, a voice. 'The Corruption lies in your hand, and it will spread. You must purge it, vanquish it from your body. Else you will become the beast that you just saw. Your weakness is flesh, your strength is metal. War and Imbalance will finally serve you, and the Purity will be trapped within your nerves. You will be trapped, an empty vessel to the Corruption.'

Fear fills Kayda's eyes. She isn't afraid of Tenacity's memory, no, she is afraid of Tenacity becoming that beast. She can't even imagine it. "Why?" She asks. "Why are you corrupted?" She shivers because for a moment, when she sees Tenacity, she sees him as that beast. But she shakes it off quickly. "Nevermind, I'm not even sure if you know that yourself. I don't know what's worse. You loosing an arm or you becoming that thing." That's a lie, she already knows that him becoming fully corrupted is way worse. But she doesn't want to openly admit that "I wish there was something I can do. It hurts knowing this is going on and I'm powerless to it" she admits.

Tenacity watched Kayda's memory for a long moment, nearly bursting into tears as he remembered his point of view. Her voice broke his trance, asking a question that had no answer. "Kayda.. I've heard rumors. A place that can synthesize flesh. If we found that place, we could save my body. We could have the Corruption taken away, replaced by uncorrupted flesh. But we'd need to get out of here first. We need to focus on something, whether it be hunting down our opponents, or something insane like tearing the arena down. We just need to focus on something that can get us out of here." His voice had become thoughtful, as if he were pondering over the words even as they crept from his mouth. She might find hope in that. I've found hope in it. Maybe she'll find something to believe in, if she can't believe in me.

"Then it's no question. We are going to find that place if it's the last thing we do. If that means destroying our opponents-" well, she didn't want to kill anyone, "Or destroy the arena, then I'll do it in a heartbeat!" She would rather destroy the arena, at least that meant she wouldn't have to kill anyone or risk anyone in her alliance being killed. "How would we even try destroying the arena!?" Her heart lifts slightly and her voice sounds excited. Just as Tenciaty anticipated, she had clung to this hope. It was a powerful emotion, hope could either be a sweet lie or a happy truth. There was no way to know the difference.

Tenacity grinned, his voice becoming quiet as he glanced around at the trees. "There's metal supports lacing the arena around the entire place. If I can get to one beam, I can take the place down. But you'll have to run. I know I can guard myself from anything that falls, but I don't know if I can cover both of us. Alrighty?" His scheme sounded entirely real, except that it was insane. He had it all planned out. From watching the Mine Games before, he'd accidentally analyzed the structure of the arena from the glimpses you saw of it on the television. He knew where he needed to go, but there would likely be something guarding the area. He wanted to find out, to bring down the arena so that they would be free from the hell that this was.

"Fine, I can run. But your plan, while it may work, it sounds pretty dangerous. Are you sure you'll be able to protect yourself?" Kayda asks skeptically. He was right about her running. That would be safest for both of them, and it's not like she would be any help to him. Still, she didn't like the idea of him being left alone in a dangerous situation.

Tenacity raised an eyebrow. "As long as I can see what's coming at me, I can avoid it. It wasn't just dumb luck that I dodged that Ox the first time, you know." He had a teasing tone in his voice, as if taunting the other to argue further. He had a winning statement for anything she could ask, he knew that. He didn't know if she knew that, though. He hoped she wouldn't argue against it any further, else he might even lose hope in himself.

Kayda sighs and shakes her head. She still didn't like it, but it was clear she wasn't going to get through to him. It was a risk, but life was full of risks. That didn't make it any easier though "Alright if you feel confident then let's do it. Just promise me that you'll be careful. Should we head back with these sheep and tell the others about what we are planning?"

Tenacity nodded, then turned and looked at a sheep. "So, do you want to try and ride them back, or just lug them over our shoulders?" The question was directed towards Kayda, but his gaze remained fixed on the sheep. "I don't think they'll go the right direction if we try and ride them, so maybe we should try and carry them." Stepping towards the sheep, Tenacity bent low and looked it in the face. "Actually, I doubt these ones have any brains left in their skull. I bet we could pick them up easily."

Kayda snorts at the last part. He was right, the sheep looked quite stupid. They allowed the two to get close to them, seemingly more interested in chewing on the grass. "I agree, it would be best to carry them." She picks up the gray one, finding that it was surprisingly light. Even lighter when she balances it over her shoulders. She waits for him to pick up his sheep before they make their way back to their base.
