Felix stayed put, but a smile creeped across his face. “I see, so
the Spades want to play. There seems to be a fun mutation as well”
he said while he readied himself. He knew there would be more.
Tundra glanced up at the sky as she gripped a handhold attached to
the ceiling of the bus. Confusion creased her brow; there seemed to
be a very large crow circling over a singular location perhaps a
mile or two away from her. Distractedly, she moved to the window of
the bus, trying to get a better view.
Dooley heard the crowing and looked up, a smile still on her face.
"I do believe it's time I showed them what I can do." She tossed
the smoke bomb up in the air and caught it, then began walking
forward. "Ello there, X-Loyalists. I-" her voice caught when she
saw Bronx, but she continued in a level voice. "We're not here to
hurt you, no matter how much I would like to throttle each and
every one of you. Just step aside and let us destroy these weapons,
and you can go back to your slimy leader Governor X without a
scratch, no?" She motioned to Xaiven, who stepped out from behind
the sandbag. "There may be more of you with your silly little
mutations, but at least we think for ourselves. So what's it going
to be. Are you going to cause trouble, or step aside?"
Derek walked slowly towards one of the cars, firing up the cutter.
Two arms extended from the end, ready to snap open and rotate in a
large circle, slicing through metal and anything else in the way.
His eyes were in constant motion, glancing from here to there and
back. He clearly expected an attack, but he also clearly knew he
could take on one or two X-Loyalists at once. The massive boy kept
approaching, ready to snap open his tool if needed.
Felix sighed, “I can’t let you do that sadly, These weapons aren’t
for you to touch or destroy” he said to Dooley while stretching.
“I’d suggest you step away, and let us be on our way” Felix said to
Dooley with a smile.
Dooley gave a small mock gasp and a smile. "What? You're actually
going to try and fight back?" She shrugged, smirking. "Alright
then, if you want to get destroyed, it's your choice." She hefted
the smoke bomb, then considered it carefully. "Funny, what one
little bomb could do. The minute this smoke made contact with you,
you'd be paralyzed completely. Unable to move at all!" She held it
out for them to see. "I wonder what would happen if I were to,"
pinching the end between two fingers, "throw it at you." Rover
circled around her head, it's metal tail clunking as it hit her
shoulders. Xaiven stepped forward, hefting his own bomb. The twins
teleported to stand next to Dooley, who scooted a few inches away
from them. "I'd love to see you try and stop us."
Felix shrugged, “Throw it.” He calmly said while crossing his arms.
Multiple soldiers started to step out of the trucks, and started to
go around the trucks, checking for any Spades.
Derek sighed. "You really don't have brains, do you? What, you
think we'd just put Spades under the cars? Cripes, they're half as
smart as me, and half the size." Turning to glance at Dooley, he
wondered aloud, "How many do you think I could take out before I
encounter an issue?" Turning back, he powered down the cutter and
stowed it in his backpack. "I'd recon..." Counting a few of the
troops quickly, he put on a thoughtful look. "Most of them,
assuming they can actually hear what I'm saying. If they can't..
All of them."
Dooley considered this. "I don't know, maybee-half of them? I mean,
the other half will be frozen in their tracks by the time we're
done with them." She looked at the Twins next to her. "Would you
like to play catch?" The Twins looked back at her and nodded
slowly. "Then, catch!" She threw the bomb directly at Felix just as
the Twins disappeared and reappeared in the middle of the group.
The bomb sailed over Felix's shoulder and bounced against the
twin's outstretched hands and onto the ground. They teleported once
more just as with a loud, albeit muffled noise, the bomb collapsed,
leaking out strands of grey smoke that caused a group of
X-Loyalists to collapse, their muscles twitching slightly as the
paralyzing gas. She brushed off her hands. "Spades are better than
Diamonds, don't you think?"
Felix jumped back into the group, before the smoke became
uncontrollable. With one sweep of his left hand, the smoke bomb was
scraped away, and off into his dimension. “What an interesting toy.
The governor could definitely use you.” He remarked. “How about you
join us?” Felix joked.
Dooley laughed, then snarled at him, "I'd rather stick Rover's tail
in my eyes. The Governor ruined my life, and I'm sticking with the
Spade Gang until the day I die. Rover, come here, now." The tiny
robot zoomed over to her, and with a loud clunking noise, switched
forms. She hopped on, and with a flash was behind them. Bronx was
quick to follow her, with a uncertain look. Dooley eyed him. "So
this is what they've made you. Pitiful." A hatch opened on Rover's
side, and she grabbed another smoke bomb, rising above the group to
drop it in the gathering of Diamond Leauge members. "You really
deserve this."
Felix opened his right hand and a silver spear appeared in his
hand. “You have her taken care of, Bronx?” he asked while walking
towards Derek. “I can take care of this one” he motioned at Derek
with his spear.
Bronx hesitated, before smiling. "Right-o!" Inside, something was
bothering him. It felt like he had seen this girl before, but not
just on missions. Where had he seen her before? He flapped his
wings once before speeding after her. Dooley ducked to avoid him,
her feet almost slipping off of Rover. The two of them ducked and
circled, each trying to get a hold on the other. They seemed
equally skilled, when one gained an advantage the other would seem
to have their own footing. Dooley flicked out one of her other
inventions-what looked to be a heated knife but had a strangely
rectangular blade. She rushed in, trying to jam the knife into
Bronx's shoulder. Oddly enough, it seemed to radiate a sort of
steam that made Bronx's eyelids flutter-but he had a job to do so
he ignored the strange feelings to sleep and kept avoiding her.
Tazu had followed Dooley mostly just to help her, now trying to
distract Bronx by attempting to remove his shoe. It was a rather
strange way to distract someone, but probably every sensible person
would, if their shoe fell off, go over to where their shoe was and
put it back on.
Tundra's jaw dropped as she stared out the window; a smoke cloud
seemed to be rising far off in the distance, and now two more
figures whirled through the air. "This is my stop up here," she
lied awkwardly to the bus's Helper Bot. Unsuspectingly, the robot
pulled up at the next stop, and the copper-haired girl quickly
alighted from the vehicle. She set off at a half-walk, half-run
towards the spectacle. She was well aware that Stockholm City
citizens were not meant to investigate this sort of stuff, that it
was to be left to the Diamond League, but she had broken the rules
before. So long as she wasn't caught, she reasoned, she ought to be
fine.
Derek sighed, then turned and looked Felix in the eyes. "I'm really
sorry about this- Wait, nevermind. I'm not sorry." Grabbing one of
the various handles that stuck barely out of his backpack, Derek
drew forth a short stick. Flicking his wrist, Derek smiled as the
stick extended both ways, then sparked to life, electricity
covering the ends. "You're all that's keeping me from a nice, hot
breakfast right now, so as far as I'm concerned, you deserve every
last volt." His eyes remained fixed on Felix, but he was mentally
picking out everything he could use to his advantage. The unseen
tripwire behind me, maybe if I jump back just right, I can get over
it and get him to step through. In one hand, he held the
electric staff. The other hand was behind his back, clasping
something that he seemed to want to keep hidden.
Bronx looked down. What the-was that a crow, trying to remove his
boot? For a minute, he was distracted, shaking his foot violently
to remove the bird. Dooley took that chance and successfully
stabbed his shoulder with the "sleep-knife", causing him to loudly
yawn before closing his eyes and snoring loudly. The winged man
began plummeting to the ground, but not before Dooley caught him by
the hood of his aviator jacket and tossed him on the roof of one of
the trucks. She glanced at Tazu. "Thanks for the help!" Out of the
corner of her eye, she swore she saw someone. Reinforcements,
maybe? But for whom?
Tazu flew down, and went to safely remove the boot, trying not to
wake Bronx up, since she wanted to try and use it to distract the
other one. She wanted to either stuff it full of random garbage and
toss it, or just keep it as a trophy. Either way, there was no one
stopping her, so... might as well.
