Trigger/Content Warning: Child Abuse (nothing too graphic, but just wanted to alert people that it's there)

Tundra could see her mother's mind whirling. She knew the woman well enough to discern that she was trying to determine how to punish her. If she went to the Diamond League and reported her daughter's disobedience, that would reflect poorly on her, and if nothing else, Ms. Grey cared deeply about her reputation. Knowing that this egotistical nature of her mother was her only chance at getting away with this and that, if she did decide to turn her in, the Diamond League would immediately connect her to the whole incident with the Spade Gang, the copper-haired girl's knees shook slightly as she continued to stare down at the ground, awaiting her mother's judgement. She could deal with any punishment, aside from being reported, she told herself.
Finally, with a mix of a sigh and a growl, the blonde woman grabbed Tundra's arm, her long, acrylic nails digging into the small statured 17 year old's cream colored skin, and dragged her into the house. Biting back tears, both from the pain and indignation, the girl stumbled along, not letting out so much as a peep, despite her natural reaction of wanting to tear away. After being forced up the stairs, through the door of the apartment, and into her room with a harsh shove, Tundra was told in a voice raspy with anger, "I will put in a request for you to be grounded for the five days due to having "back-talked" me again. Seeing as how this is the umpteenth time, I feel that I can say for certain it will be granted. You will not leave your room, you will not even open the window. Is that understood?" Tears pouring down her cheeks, the girl could only nod meekly. "I said is that UNDERSTOOD?!" her mother roared. "Yes!" she cried in terror. With an curled lip, the woman turned away, slamming the door behind her. Tundra tumbled into her bed, blood trickling from the marks on her arm, and sobbed into her pillow.

Eventually, Tazu found the place Dooley was taling about, and landed in front of the building, shifting back into her human form. Now all she had to do was wait.
