Caddie certainly was desperate, but it wasn't too long before she caught wind of Racer's frantic calls. "Racer! Racer, it's me!" she called out. Racer heard her and immeadiently started crashing around. When he saw Caddie, Racer ran and lept into her arms, almost knocking her off her feet. "Woah!" Caddie laughed. She hugged her furry friend. "Miss me much?" Now that she had found her friend, she was starting to forget a little about her pounding headache. Racer immeadiently began jabbering away and crying about how worried he was, but all that Caddie heard was "Pancham, pan, pan, Pancham Pancham!" She tried to calm Racer down with a weak smile.

McQueen hummed along to a song of her childhood, the melody lulling the baby Pokemon in her arms into a light slumber. Its tiny snores reminded her of herself, falling asleep to her mother's voice whenever she would have to sing the song to soothe, the then much younger, McQueen's fears. Although she would be too stubborn to admit it now, as a child, McQueen was terrified of Pokemon. Despite her older siblings and mother helping her to get over it, she's never been able to find an acceptance for cat-like Pokemon. There was just something about them. Perhaps it was the way they looked at her or, maybe, their claws. She could never place a finger on it, they just made her feel uneasy.
"It feels like we've been walking forever.. Where is everyone? Ah.. Don't tell me I've taken the wrong path," she curses under her breath, "Alright. I'll keep going. Maybe we'll be able to catch them at Eastcliff."
Song Translation-
'Tomorrow.. With a run-up to tomorrow
Everywhere there is a door of hope
Waiting for Tomorrow.. You can move on little by little
See from here'
Catching the sound of ecstatic laughter, Kaoru turned around to see Caddie scoop Racer up in her arms and sighed in relief. The sight of the pair reunited made Kaoru's chest hurt for a moment, but it was quickly replaced by a fond smile. As if sensing her trainer's sadness, Raindrop smushed her cheek against Kaoru's shin chittering insistently as her tiny arms came up to bat against his leg. "You're oddly perceptive, you know." He chided lightly, lifting the Wooper up into his arms. By now, he couldn't feel the jolts of pain arcing through his body as he cradled his partner close to his chest.
"Well, all is well that ends well." He spoke out loud, Raindrop barking out a squeaky "Upah" in agreement. In his head, he began to plan his route. Eastcliff was everyone's first stop and there he'd get himself and his pokemon looked at. Then he'd be on the road back to Islesbury, the one leg of the journey that he 100% was not looking forward to. If he was crafty enough, he could just skip the gym there altogether and make a break for Seameet, avoiding any unpleasantries waiting for him in Islebury. With that plan in mind, Kaoru nodded to Raindrop getting ready to return to the road.
Caddie nodded. "Thank you for helping me look for Racer." She placed Racer on her head and started heading up the road. She was a little worried about her headache, though. It had continued to pound mercilessly. Maybe she would be able to find help in the next town. She tried to remember which one it was...Iselsbury? She stopped when she reached the road, but Cyrus seemed to be preoccupied. Caddie decided that she would go on ahead and wait for him to catch up. It wasn't far, after all. She called out to Cyrus, "I'm going up ahead, okay?" Then, she started making her way down the road, looking at the scenery around her. It reminded her a lot of the forest..the forest near her home. She wanted to talk more with Karou but wasn't sure if he was the kind of person who liked to make small talk. Plus, he seemed hurt. Did Raindrop accidentally get some of her toxic mucus on him? Caddie hoped he was okay..
Waving as Caddie departed, Kaoru sighed and pushed back how own bangs. "Guess I've gotta face the music sooner or later." He groused, gently stroking Raindrops head. "Let's get going, girl. Can't leave daddy dearest waiting." Rolling his eyes as hard, Kaoru shifted Raindrop around to a more comfortable position before setting out on the road. He covered a fair amount of ground, zipping his jacket shut with Raindrop peaking her head out of the collar. Taking a side path which he knew would shave off a few daylight hours off his travel time, he only made a few more steps before his knees buckled and he ate dirt. Delicious.
Groaning, he quickly rolled onto his back and unbundled his jacket to make sure that Raindrop was still safe. She was and a soft sigh left his nose. "Ow." he stated flatly, sitting up properly. While he could probably stand up and walk a few more steps, Kaoru wasn't particularly inclined to aquiant his face with the ground anymore so than it already has. For now, he'll rest for a moment and once he felt like he wouldn't trip over thin air he'd make his slow and steady way to Eastcliff.
Racer did his best to make Caddie happy, but thoughts that Cyrus had purposely staid behind because she had pushed him away like the others plagued her mind with worry. She shook her head, trying not to think about it. Maybe she was worrying for nothing. Caddie hoped so. She kicked at a pebble on the ground, sending it skittering ahead.
He started running down the path, his Jangmo-o following quickly. Both of them wanted to catch up, not intending to walk alone.
Milo had broke out into a jog, Lana following close behind them. Now running down Route 1, the gym leaders made sure to waste no time. Seeing a few new trainers, Lana held up her hands to wave them down. The two approached them, the two had a Pancham and Wooper Milo noted. "Hey! Have you guys seen anything dangerous?" Milo asked rather bluntly. All he knew was that the professor had called them frantically, saying something was up on Route 1. "Yeah, Milo said the professor seemed pretty worked up." Lana added, giving a small smile to the Wooper before looking back at the trainer's.

Having stumbled through the shortcut, Kaoru breathed a sigh of relief when he could see Caddie travelling down the road. Gently easing himself down the small outcropping which the shortcut exited out of, he stumbled slightly, hoping to at least catch up to Caddie. Instead, when he turned a corner, he was meet with Milo and Lana instead. At the sight of the latter, he glowered slightly, already familiar with who the water trial captain was. Anyone who had grown up in Iselburry as he had would already be familiar with the small island which housed Nana's outdoor gym. Putting aside his reservations, however, Kaoru did his best to smile, albeit slightly tiredly.
"You're gonna have to elaborate on what you define as dangerous." He answered lightly, holding Raindrop close as she tried to hop out to closely inspect Lana. "Wild Pokemon? Yup, plenty of dangers like that in the tall grass. Other trainers? I think I saw a few scattered around the route, but I don't think anyone would define them as dangerous." He was aware he was rambling slightly, but he was at least answering the two's questions. To an extent.
