How do you feel about online chat rooms? I'm much better at talking
online than taking on the phone. I HATE the phone. I think I'm bad
at interpreting voice inflections. I'd much rather talk in person
or via chat / email What about you?
Between talking on the phone or chatting online, I would go with
the latter on this. Not just because I prefer texting over phone
calls (which is why phone calls give me anxiety...) but as someone
that has Discord and while some folks are fine with video chatting,
I get antsy at the idea of having other folks hear my voice... But
even with the chatting online thing, I just cannot fathom the idea
of talking to complete strangers - unless there's a common interest
we share. And even then, I'm still an awkward little kiwi...
Don't get me wrong, you put me in front of a computer and I'll type
my heart out like a speed demon. Phones - I can try but sometimes
the keyboard is a bit less smart than the phone itself. And
sometimes, I do find someone I really want to know better, but
goodness knows my brain is full of buzzing butterflies on high
sugar mode.

Yes. I like talking in person, but talking to people outside your
family and meeting new people in person is really hard now, due to
the pandemic and all that. I don't really have Discord anymore, so
I can't talk to my irl friends too much anymore, and during virtual
school, they do meetings, but they NEVER really give students a
chance to talk about non-school-related things, so I've mostly been
just typing away on my tablet and phone while moving into my JJBA
phase, and chatting and roleplaying a lot both on here and on

i prefer to speak over text than calling people. i dont like
speaking over the phone since i stutter and slur my speech a lot,
and i have to clear my throat a lot because my voice gets very
gravely very quickly. ive always felt like ive been much better at
expressing myself when it comes to writing. not to mention i can
get as casual as id like. i have a lot of typing quirks that are
meant to reflect how i speak irl so it feels more natural for me to
type
got good friends who'd love to
headline with a pretty pretty nine
I prefer talking over the phone because it just makes the
experience more human. I love being able to hear my friend's
voices, it's also a lot easier to tell how someone is feeling on
the phone than it is through text. My mic has been broken pretty
much since the start of quarantine and not being able to call with
my friends is absolutely killing me, at this point Ive just
resorted to turning on my webcam and playing charades
I hate talking on the phone! If I have the option to text or chat
with someone instead I will do it instead. I never feel like I can
speak to the same level I'm able to write. I guess my brain just
can't think fast enough for it!
I honestly don't really mind speaking over a voice chat or
something if I know the person. If I don't, I'd rather talk over
text.
I've been on discord too much to the point that talking in vc is a
regular thing to do. It has kinda made me actually okay with my
voice which is good.
My friend even did vids on yt with my voice in it and its not that
bad either. I just kinda got used to chatting over vc.
For some reason though, I cannot speak irl, especially since I'm
supposed to make eye contact which is extremely awkward in my
opinion, but thats just me.

yup it's the easiest way to find new friends and maybe love. I
found free random video chat app that helps to find new friends and
make pricate video calls. It's easy in use and one of my friends
met new gf with its help. Useful app
Normally irl I don't talk much and people don't hear my voice or
mistake my words for something which is annoying. But in texts
everyone can see what I'm saying and I can actually express myself
without people not hearing me.
