The knives hit the walls, obviously not finding any marks to
strike...however...
The moment they hit, the knives started curving back on themselves!
They were greyed out but...
Emerald was immediately taken off guard and was struck.
So did Hiro. Even Azure.
Fortem was lucky. His rock shields and quick reflexes let him dodge
the attack. He looked around, panicked. He wish he knew a healing
move. "Emerald! Hiro! Azure!" Fortem cried out, worried. He turned
to face Mortis, his heartbeat sounding as loud as a loudred, and
adrenaline pumping through his veins.
"Adverse History." Mortis said. He caused knives made from shadow
to fly towards them. When they struck the wall, they bounced back
in the exact same trajectory as before. The problem was that there
were a lot of projectiles flying in all directions. It seems as
though Mortis can create after images of his projectiles and then
make them real....
Hiro put up a shield to protect them all...it immediately popped
after the attack.

With Hiro's quick timing as well as Fortem's shield, the damage
transferred was minimal.
Mortis just chuckled. "How well can you face this...attacks that
defy memory...." He threw more bullets of darkness, immediate after
images appeared after they were thrown, becoming real, and speeding
towards them.
Fortem was still really scared... this was maybe one of the key
moments in their journey, and his fear still didn't fade away, like
they did in the stories. He began to feel dizzy, and dug his claws
into the ground, surrounding himself with rock shields to protect
and ground himself.
Some of the chains slipped through the cracks in the rocks and
wrapped around Fortem, who struggled to get out. I'm
failing, he thought. I'm failing my friends! He couldn't
heal, was scared, and was stuck... he struck some of the chains
with his paw, desperate to escape.

Something yanked the chains away from Fortem. More
accurately...they were sliced. Emerald stood near him, paws glowing
and a green magic circle at his right paw...
"Fortem...are you ok? I panicked when I saw those chains..."
Azure used Sheer Cold to deal heavy damage...had it not missed, and
was now going full close combat with his ranged moves.
"I'm fine," He croaked. "Thanks," He shook his fur. This only
reinforced how much he disliked having to battle... he felt like he
was unhelpful compared to pokemon like azure and opal, and hated to
see everyone hurt... He made a mental note to see if lycanrocs
could learn healing moves, and then tried to use bite on some of
the chains, missing mostly, but snapping a few.

Azure was still keeping Mortis at bay, while Hiro was healing
him.
Emerald dragged Fortem to one side. "Don't be afraid...we got
this..." He hugged Fortem's neck. "Try and...use some offensive
moves. I know you dislike hurting others but...think this way. Some
people have dished out so much pain that...you're giving some of
that pain back to them. What they deserve..." He murmured

The Rock Throw made Mortis stumble a little, letting Azure strike
him.
"Some people don't know what they're doing to others...it's up to
the people they wronged to show them that..." Emerald murmured.
"That's called a hero..."
Fortem smiled at his encouraging friend, and used rock throw again
on Mortis, most of the rocks hitting. Azure seemed to be handling
the darkrai well, but Fortem wanted to help, even if it did push
him out of his comfort zone.

Opal's and Azure's attacks were doing significant amounts of
damage.
Even Mortis was surprised at the turn of events...he wasn't
expecting them to be this driven. Could that...brat really mean that much to them...? He
thought as he fought back with another powered Dark Pulse
"Just give Yung back, explain why you're doing everything, and stop
attacking us!" Fortem said, hurling another rock throw at Mortis,
which, although signifigantly weaker than Opal and Azure's attacks,
still did damage. He felt the need to give the darkrai one last
chance to redeem himself before he went full attack mode, or as
much as he could, at least. "We wouldn't have to do this in the
first place if it wasn't for you!"
This Drove drake back. He smirked. Now painlessly embedded in
Morris’s arm were tiny crystal clear spikes. They were his fate
weapon. But he wouldn’t activate it just yet. But he was slowing
down. He grimaced
