OH shoot. Fortem stayed quiet, waiting for Azure to lead. A million
thoughts raced through his head at once. Was Yung here, maybe? Had
anyone brought the instruments? What would happen? His fur stood on
end, and he hoped that the Darkrai didn't have a nose, or he would
be able to smell Fortems scent of fear.

"Hmph." Mortis the Darkrai turned to face them. "Why continue your
foolish crusader of fruitlessness? Why not just accept that we will
be saved? Why fight against fate?" The Darkrai said, calmly. Even
though he was an enemy...he had a somewhat...gentlemen-like voice
"Who says that's our fate?" Fortem growled back, though it had a
nervous undertone. "And why try and stop us if you think the end
won't change? You contradict yourself."
[All]
"All I'm doing...is trying to save you from your foolish end."
Mortis continued. "Once the world ends...life will be reborn anew,
more beautiful and bountiful then before...a world free of
poverty...what is the point of resisting?" He spread his arms out
"I think someone hit you in the head, " Fortem said. What the
Darkrai was saying didn't make any sense to him. Next to his
friends, he felt a little braver.

Mortis looked at Opal. For a brief moment...
"I see. You are 'one' of them huh?" His eyes gazed over him in a
cold stare. "One of the lackeys...the leader of them no less."
Mortis said.
"Give back my dad!" Emerald yelled out.
"I'm afraid not...I cannot let him go..." He said. "I--"
"How's THIS for an answer!?" Emerald yelled as he brought the bell
and swung it, smashing it over Mortis' head.
Mortis stumbled back...the shield breaking again. "...force it is
then."
For once not hesitating, Fortem leaped in to get the Darkrai with a
bite. Helping Emerald get Yung back was his primary goal, and
though he didn't like hurting others, he decided that this Darkrai
had caused too much pain to his Riolu friend, and Fortem wasn't
gonna let the chance Emerald had gave him go to waste. He heard his
own heart thumping loud, almost like a battle drum as he
attacked.
Fortem jumped off and listened to Opal, still growling, bust
stepped back, like his friend had said.
His eyes were black voids now Opal deflected the dark pulse in an
instance “Know that I will not fight you as Opal the Mew.” A pure
black mask appeared in his hand. As he he put if over his eyes, his
fur began to brighten to white “I will fight you as the Leader of
the fates, and as the first human. I am Drake Gale. You fall here.”
He threw a psychic force so powerful it override the Dark typing of
his opponet

Azure wasn't surprised. He knew.
Emerald WAS surprised. But he always had a suspicion that Opal was
special...he thought he was the equivalent of the Grim
Reaper...
Hiro was a little afraid but stayed back to act healer.
Mortis sent a dark force to counteract the psychic energy. "Fate of
Judgement. The truth...will be seared into your eyes. Give up." He
launched a barrage of dark bullets at them all.
Mortis threw a circle of knives which had very obvious gaps within
it at them, which spread across the arena. He'd repeat the process,
with the circle varying in curvature each time
Fortem was surprised. There was a lot about Opal he didn't know,
but he trusted Opal. He stayed back, wanting to help, but not
really knowing how. When Mortis started shooting projectiles,
Fortem created shields of rock to cover them.
