Emerald passed all pf the restaurants and all the rooms, going to
their room. He was pretty dry by now, and he unlocked the room.
“Wanna pounce on it?” He pointed at the giant red one
Remus laughed heartily. “You really are quite the nice
person...people like you can be rare sometimes.””
Fortem did the same, leaping onto the bed. It bounced like a rubber
ball under their weight, sending Fortem flying into the air, before
landing back on the balloon bed. He laughed, wheezing from the
expected flight.
"Thank you!" Audax picked up his heavy bag. "Really? That's pretty
cool. Which branch did you study in?" This was something that Audax
actually enjoyed talking about,
Emerald laughed and laughed. "This is great!" The balloon made some
amusing squeaks as they bounced on it. It also wobbled like crazy
from the two pokemon
Remus chuckled. "I initially studied Fire magic. I did study
Thunder magic...but the shop took over." He grinned. "I've still
got what it takes, I believe."
"It is!" Fortem agreed wholly with Emerald as the two of them
bounced up and down. The balloon eventually came to a halt, leaving
Fortem wheezing, both from exhaustion and laughter.
"Wow!" Audax grinned. "I should get going... thanks, si- Remus!"
Audax hauled his bag over his neck, and began padding back to his
home.
Emerald was giggling away as he sat near Fortem. He then looked at
him up and down. "Hey Fortem? I don't know if you've ever heard
this from anyone but has anyone told you you look like a
superhero?"
Remus grinned as he waved him off. "Such a good kid...he has a
bright future ahead of him."
"Hmm?" Fortem asked, oblivious. "What do you mean?" He got up to a
sitting position and tilted his head.
Audax couldn't decide what to do next. These sort of decisions were
hard for him. After walking down the paved, cobble streets of
Luminia for half an hour, he finally decided to just keep on
walking to see what things me might see to do. There were still a
few days before he should go back to the school of magic.
"I didn't take time to look properly before..." Emerald marvelled.
"You have dark blue fur around your face, which looks like a mask!
You have that same fur on your back - a cape!" He exclaimed
excitedly. "And...your white fur on your feet as well as a ring of
dark blue fur...boots."
Audax soon found himself wandering towards the crossroads to
Sleipnir Park. To the left was the stairs leading down to the Cloud
Playground. The right was towards the Heavenly Orchard. Striaght
ahead, was of course, Sleipnir Park.
"I... guess," Fortem noticed, looking down to examine his paws,
then turning his head to look at his blue 'cape'. He laughed at the
observations, a smile blooming on his face.
Of course, even when Audax was just wandering, his paws would
naturally guide him to the one place he hung out the most. He
smiled, his ears tilting amusedly at the thought. He padded into
the park. Some magic practice couldn't hurt (probably). He scanned
the park, just looking around for a place.
"Fortem, you keep getting cooler and cooler every day!" Emerald
said, his eyes sparkling with admiration. "Seriously. it's amazing!
I can't believe I didn't notice it before!"
Sleipnir Park was peaceful...but there was something off this time.
Fortem blushed, before changing the topic to something he noticed
about Emerald. "Y'know, you already look a little bit like a
lucario!" He paused. "Well you're a riolu of course, but even more
than that. See," He gestured to Emerald's paws. "They're black,
like a Yung's! And the your black mask, which also makes you
look a little like a super hero, has a line carrying up just a
little bit." He nodded towards Emerald's head.
"Hey now!" Emerald started giggling. "You're not trying to get out
of me stating the facts about you right? About how amazing you
are?” He playfully poked his stomach. "Don't change the topic to
praising me...!" He did appreciate it though
“Let me order it!” Emerald grinned. After a few minutes, he had
managed to get room service for two sundaes to be delivered to
their rooms. He had ordered a tropical variant. He walked back and
sat next to Fortem. He giggled lightly. “It’s funny how your spikes
are just squishing into the red balloon.”
It was odd...there was just something odd about today. Something
odd in the park...
"It is," Fortem agreed happily. "It's such a stretchy material! But
cozy as well. Hmm...." He paused. "I think I have a new idea for
Remus. What if he made a balloon, but covered the outside in some
sort of fur or fluff?" He looked to Emerald, hoping for a good
answer. "If he hasn't tried that already, of course." Fortem
added.
To put it simply, Audax was extremely confused. He tried listening
out for anything weird, and sniffing around too, but he couldn't
shake off the ominous feeling. He went for a brisk walk around.
“Maybe you can tell him when we get back!” Emerald said happily. He
began grooming him as he leaned on him. The motion was causing
Fortem to bounce lightly
As it would turn out, the disturbance was some fighting in the
park. It looked very dangerous from a distance
"I will!" Fortem smiled. At that moment, there was a sharp knock on
their door. "Must be the icecream! I'll get it," He offered. Fortem
reluctantly moved away from Emerald, snatched up a couple copper
coins from his bag, and opened the door.
The bellboy was there. Once he saw the coins that Fortem was about
to offer, they shook their head. “Room service is complimentary.”
They placed the ice creams by the bed and then waved to leave. It
was teo tropical sundaes!
Fortem nodded, but he decided to give a tip to the hotel when they
checked out at the front desk. "Look at these!" Fortem exclaimed,
muzzle pointed towards the two sundaes. They had a few different
unknown berry flavours of icecream, topped with some whipped cream
and various fruit bits.
Audax stared at the fight. What was going on? He tried to make out
the pokemon, and what they might be wearing, to determine who they
might be, before he did anything.
