“Careful, it’s gonna be real slippery.” Emerald grinned as he
watched the other pokemon excitedly start the course, trying to run
without falling.
“Great.” Remus said approvingly. “To be truthful, I’m not sure what
else we can do with the party. I think you’ve hit every mark on the
criteria for that party in terms of aesthetics.” He grinned
"I can tell," Fortem noted, wincing as he saw a skiddo slide of the
course. Thankfully, the fluffy green pokemon surfaced from a wave,
laughing. Fortem watched the other pokemon, making a few notes of
the obstacles and what seemed to work for others, before marching
up the first slope. He was thankfull for having rough pawpads,
which gave him a good grip of the rubbery ground.
Audax smiled. "Thank you!" He organised the supplies a bit, folding
and fiddling with them until they were neat and stacked up.
"To you as well!" Fortem shouted at Emerald, who had almost reached
the end of the ramp. Fortem followed suit, running, and hoping that
he wouldn't slip. As he got the the end of the ramp, he took a
flying leap across the open gap.
"...I don't think so," Audax said in his naturally soft voice. He
was curious to see what it would be like.
Emerald would get past the water sprayers and eventually reach the
wall with the mini punching gloves trying to push him off. He
managed to evade them...
“You know I get some weird customers sometimes.” Remus smiled. “But
hey. Anyways, I’ve made a new batch of balloons...but these ones
make loud amusing squeaks when you bounce on them.” He began using
an air pump to blow one up. “Apparently some customers like hearing
it when they’re going at it.”
Fortem followed after Emerald. The water sprayers weren't much of
an issue for him, but the punching wall almost knocked him off. He
got to the end of that obstacle huffing and puffing.
"Interesting," Audax murmured. "Should I just get on, or...?" He
asked, uncertain.
Emerald got to the red orbs and tried to traverse them, only to
bounce on one, the force of which sent him crashing face first into
the second and falling off the course
Fortem paused between the obstacles to check up on Emerald. The
course looked pretty safe, but, hey, just in case. "You ok?" He
called out to the Riolu in the ocean below.
Audax hesitantly took a step onto the balloon, then another, until
he was completely on top.
Fortem gave a brisk nod, then looked at the big, red spheres.
Hmm... they looked sort of like bubbles... Thats it! Fortem watched
a pikachu bounce on the orbs to confirm they had the elasticity he
thought they did. Fortunately for Fortem, he'd had a lot of
practice hopping on balloons and bubbles... Now he just had to stay
balanced. Mentally thanking Hiro for creating his Bubble Emporium,
he took a big leap onto the first orb. It jiggled under his weight,
but it wasn't hard for him to stay on.
Audax batted at the balloon with his paw. It make his whole body
wobble, and the ballon squeaked like it was intended to.
Emerald would eagerly watch Fortem from the sidelines. The last
obstacle was a swing of sorts to the finish. Unfortunately the
swing was pretty thin...
Remus was watching the Eevee awaiting his reaction
Fortem reached the end of the red orbs, and stopped to catch his
breath. The swing looked like a hard obstacle... He decided to just
go for it, and jumped towards it. Unfortunately, he misjudged the
gap, and only his front limbs for a hold of the bar! Holding on for
dear life, he was flung off and flipped as the swing reached it's
peak, and by some miracle, landed safely, if a little battered, on
the opposite side.
"Wow!" Audax admired the balloon. "They definitely seem to be
working! And it's a cool experience too." He shifted his weight
from side to side, continuing the wobbling of the balloon.
Fortem gave Emerald a tired grin, slowly getting up and shaking off
a some of the seawater from the course, getting the whole area wet
in the process.
"Got it!" Audax got to his feet unsteadily, and jumped. The balloon
let out some more squeaks, making Audax smile. He continued the
process a little longer, to make sure it was working like Remus
wanted.
"I guess we'll see what there is," Fortem said. "I bet there's at
least a handful of unfamilliar flavours." Fortem regretted not
bringing his money pouch. Hopefully it was complimentary, or there
would be a billing system? He'd have to see.
"Thank you!" Audax resisted the urge to put 'sir' after those two
words. It was just natural for him to use a word of respect to
those he thought deserved that sort of respect. He gave Remus a
small smile as he picked out a black balloon, not a squeaky one, to
possibly use as a bed. He didn't really want ballon noises keeping
him up at night.
“It’s complimentary!” Emerald said as they reached the room. “I
dunno about you, but I’m up for some cuddling and bouncing on the
balloon beds.” He giggled
Remus smiled. “If ya wanna enjoy the squeakier balloons, just ask
and I’ll set one up for you during breaks.” He grinned
"Sounds like a plan," Fortem gave a toothy grin as the walked back
to the main hotel building. There seemed to be various resturaunts
and food in different spots all across the island, which was nice
if you felt a little peckish after an activity.
"Thank you," Audax said, once more. It would be nice to have the
opportunity to bounce on the balloons in his breaks, and it would
be good to have the squeaky ones, since he worked a few early
shifts and didn't want to end up dozing off. He got back to
organizing the last of the purple decorations he'd been sorting
before talking to Remus. He thought once more of the school of
magic. He could probably do some practice tommorow or another day,
before returning.
