"No... It's fine. Thanks for the concern though.""' Crystal said,
returning the smile. Yeah, perhaps she is just seeing things. It
has been a hectic day after all.
Crystal: Hazel smiled in relief. "Well, let's go
eat! I'm starving! Everyone said Cole caught a big deer today!
FEAST!" she said and pulled you towards the camp laughing.
"Race you there!!" With that, she started running, leaving Hazel
behind. Flora flapped her wings and flew above her. Feeling the
wind against her face, Crystal smile as the old feeling returned to
her. For a moment, she felt free.
Crystal: After a long run, you reach the hut. The
smell of food wafted in the air. Hazel started to drool. "Oh boy
that smells good! Leo must have cooked a great meal. Such a chef,"
she said licking her lips. "Well, let's eat!" she said walking in.
You saw Cole and Caleb. "Hey Cole!" she called out. Cole smiled at
you two and waved.
Caleb was still next to Cole so by instinct he also turned around.
To his surprise,it was Crystal and probably her friend. His face
brightened up and he slightly waved at her, trying not to seem rude
to her friend. For some reaskn, even though he hadn't slept at all
due to hunting,he didn't feel tired at all! Maybe it was the
fascinatng creatures that made him even more curious about this
world.
Caleb: Cole led everyone to an empty table and
everyone got seated. The food was already laid out. The deer which
Cole hunted and weird fruits you've never seen before lined the
table. Cole rubbed his hands together. "Well Caleb, we deserve a
feast for the all-night hunt, don't you think? Help yourself!" he
said taking a bite of the juicy meat.
Caleb sat between Cole and Crystal. He cut a piece out of the
deer's meat and it tasted quite well. It was in the perfect
temperature as well. "Hey Cole, what are these?" he turned to him
after gulping down his bite and pointed at the fruit. "I've never
seen anything like those." he added.
Caleb: Cole glanced at you with a mouthful of the
fruit you just pointed at. "We just called it applemelon because,
well, it tastes like it," he shrugged. "Most of the fruits here are
either exotic or just plain weird. You should try the chillipear.
It looks spicy but it's actually sweet," he said, taking another
bite of the fruit.
"Ooooh smell delish..." Crystal said, almost drooling. The scent of
the cooked meat filled her nostrils, the other fruits sweet scent
further adding on to the scent in the air. It almost smelled like
the last time she had a meal with her whole family.
"Hey Crystal! How'd you sleep?" He turned to her and smiled. He was
glad she was enjoying thid whole feast. This seemed like a pleasant
and quite welcoming community. Maybe it was that they couldn't
bother asking becaue the rest sat quite far from them but no one
seemed to ask them about who they were or where they came from and
such.
Caleb and Crystal: Just as you were enjoying the
feast, you head the people gasp and a blast of flame shot through
the hut. It shot straight at you then slowed down and landed in the
space between Caleb and Cole. It was just Hestia, looking at Caleb
with pleading eyes for food. Hazel let out a breath of relief.
"God, I thought someone was using flamethrowers here. Nice
phoenix," she complimented.
"Ahh jeez, now you've really caused a scene...Here...." he said as
he gave her a piece of meat. It felt awkward having so many people
stare at him. "So uh yeah,Crystal this is Hestia. Hestia this is
Crystal." He said as he raised his shoulder for her to sit on to.
He would have to endure it.
Caleb: Hestia looked at the food and gobbled it at
once. After it's meal it looked at Flora and let out a angry caw
and flew back outside. Flora tensed for a second before calming
down. "Dragons and phoenix really can't get along. They fight too
easily," Cole sighed chewing his food. Hazel shrugged. "Can't be
helped I guess, they get jealous of dragons for they're size,"
Hazel added.
"And I guess Dragons get jealous of Phoenixes majesty..." Flora
looked up shocked, letting out a noise that sounded like a protest.
Laughing, Crystal reached down to pet Flora.
Crystal: Hazel chuckled. "Well, maybe," she said
with a laugh. Cole looked around a little confused and looked at
Hazel. "Where's Bolt and Fluff?" he asked Hazel. Hazel shrugged
then called out names. Bolt came running in, almost knocking all
the tables because of it's huge size, really you were surprised he
could even fit, and a kitsune followed behind looking at Bolt
disapprovingly. Bolt looked at Flora and they both gave a welcoming
smile.
"Oh! Nice to meet you guys!" Crystal said, smiling at both
creatures. It was always nice to expand your eyes to the different
kinds of creatures this world hold.
Caleb sighed. "Sorry about that..." he apologised to Crystal. He
leaned in a bit closer. "Who's that next to you? Have you learned
anything?" he whispered to her, also eating. He would have to go and
look for Hestia later.
Caleb: Hazel's kitsune seems to have heard you and
tells Hazel, who smiled at you. "I'm Hazel, I'm pretty sure we've
met before in the hut when you first came here, but I don't think I
introduced myself correctly," she said scratching her head. "How
rude of me. I'm the.. how would you call this.... doctor? Yeah, I
treat everyone here. If you are feeling sick or ill be sure to
visit me in my hut! It's just across Cole's workshop," she said.
"Cole, you should show them around here," she suggested. Cole just
nodded and cleaned up, he finished his meal.
"Glad to meet you,Hazel. I'm Caleb." he said as he smiled
awkwardly. He didn't expect his whispers to be heard. He wasn't the
best at both whispering and lying. His face brightened up from the
mention of them being shown around the settlement.
Cole came back from washing up his stuff. "Say, Crystal. I
thought you said you wanted to tell me and Caleb something?" he
asked. Hazel pouted playfully. "How come I'm not invited," she said
jokingly. Cole smirked and let out a chuckle. "And if you don't
mind, tell it to Hazel too because she won't let me sleep in peace
if you don't," he added
