Drew thought he could speak first. “I mean, maybe we should try it,
at least.” Drew said. He sighed. “We have to be careful, who knows
what could happen.” Drew said.
Fortem heaved a sigh. He might be too tired to complete the thing,
and he certainly didn't have enought strength to make a stone edge
platform if he fell... in spite of himself, he decided to try, not
wanting to let his friends down. Little by little, he made his way
from platform to platform, careful to to fall, and breathing
heavily.
[Fortem]
Emerald was making bridges for Fortem. He had basic manipulation of
aura and can create temporary barriers. He also ran over the
barriers himself. But he most of the time, leapt across the
platforms
"Thank you emerald!" Fortem said gratefully, with a nod. They kept
climbing up the platforms, eventually reaching the top, where
Fortem sniffed again, and had another look around the temple room.
Fortem examined the scroll. "Who do you think put this here, and
made the temple?" He asked Emerald and Drew. The ink writing looked
very old and messy, and Fortem was worried that touching the scroll
would break it. The paper seemed to have hardened a little bit over
time. He sniffed it curiously.
[All]
“I think...there may have been people here in the past...but they
either died out or migrated up to Luminia...” Emerald said quietly
as he looked at the scroll
Fortem nodded, then tried to read the text. It was such scribbly
writing, that with Fortem's blurred vision, he wondered if it was
even in a familliar language.
"Mewtwo?" He looked at Emerald again, just as confused as before.
"Is he, like, a reading connoisseur or something like that?" He
eyed the scroll again, and sneezed from the dusty atmosphere of the
temple.
[Fortem]
“When we were trapped in the right room...we found many ancient
texts. That’s when we discovered Mewtwo could read them!” He said
enthusiastically
"Really?" Fortem exclaimed. "That's pretty cool!" He took a deep
breath, tired from the parkour. "Hmm... Emerald, can you make a
bubble we can land on, perhaps?" He asked. "We can get ourselves
and the scroll down, safer and quicker."
"Yeah, you can do it!" Fortem encouraged, his tail wagging. Sure,
it wasn't the best now, but Fortem believed that Emerald's bubbles
could be as good as Mewtwo's (or even Yung's, but he tried to
ignore the sad thought of the missing lucario).
"Ah, its ok, you'll get it next time," Fortem said, genuinely
believing in his friend. "Let's go back down by platforms, then."
He carefully hopped to the first platform, then the next, and so
on.
