Shadow raced around the corner. “I was defending some villagers.
What happened?” Then he saw the cafe. “Oh. It’s not your fault.
Without us, the whole village would have been destroyed. We just
hadn’t had enough training to control you’re powers. Then he
noticed Alex. Alex? Are you there? Worried, he rolled Alex over.
I’ll bring him back, you guys check on the villagers.
"They are all gone don't worry, but could Alex use a potion, this
one might help." Lyra pulled out a pinkish green potion so that
Alex could drink it. If he didn't wake up after this one, he was
done for...
Lyra put the potion near his mouth hoping he could at least drink
it.
Silver blocked Shadow with her wing. "The Guild is too far. The
villagers are fine. We need to get him some medical help!" Wrapping
her claws around the ginger body, she spread her wings and powered
her way into the air, straining the tired muscles. "Let's find a
local nurse!" She hovered, looking for a red cross.
If Silver wanted, Alex that was fine with her but she would at
least want him to have his strength, that's what this potion would
do. She decided she was done helping people, no one needed her
so she just left, glaring at everyone before marching back to the
guild. If these people couldn't see that this was the best she
could do then maybe they didn't deserve her help.
Hey, Lyra, come back! Shadow called after her. “What’s up? Is
something wrong? We need you and your potions if we’re going to
help Alex.” Everyone is splitting apart, Shadow thought. At this
rate, we’re all gonna be injured or even dead. “Sigh”, I wish I
could have prevented it. Not as bad as a death, but seeing Alex and
Lyra so discouraged, I’m afriad for what’s to come.
Silver wondered if her blood remedy would help Alex in this
situation. She decided finding a nursing center would be better
than hurting herself over a panic blackout. She flew away with Alex
still in her paws, finding the red cross easily from the air.
Slowly, Alex began breathing again. The blackout wasn't from an
injury, just panicking and hyperventilating. "Whoa, guys, I'm ok,
just panicked for a second," Alex said hoarsely. It was only half a
lie. He hadn't been injured badly, but his opinions definitely had.
The realization that a completely innocent person with a family
might have died directly due to his recklessness, and his elemental
powers hit him like a brick.
He realised Silver was holding him in the air, and he asked. "What
are you doing?"
Shadow was torn. Should he go after Silver and Alex, or back to the
guild with Lyra? After a minute or so of intense decision making,
he decided to go after Lyra. After all, Alex’s situation wasn’t
fatal, and Lyra’s feeling were hurt. If he were to keep the group
together, he should make them all feel like they were
appreciated.
Before he went, he made sure to pick up all the coins. No embers,
though. He would be sure to split up the reward once Alex and
Silver came back.
Lyra just glared at Shadow, as if she was trying to say Go
away!. But then she realized that he wasn't trying to piss her
off. "It's just, Sigh..., No one seems to need my help
anymore, so thats why I'm not gonna help anyone any more, if they
get hurt it's their own idiotic fault." She didn't sound caring
anymore, all she wanted was for these cats to see their
mistakes...
She hurried back to the guild, leaving Shadow behind.
“Wait, Lyra!“, Shadow said. “I have your part of the coins for
you.”
“Urrghhh”, Shadow moaned in frustration. “Everyone is walking
away.” With nothing better to do, he went back to visit Alex,
hoping that he could offer better moral support than Silver.
Silver panted as she dropped Alex beside the nurse. "I need to put
you down, gosh!" She collapsed beside him, curling her aching
wings. "You were unconscious, so I was worried. You didn't like,
breath in smoke or anything, did you?"
Alex began coughing slightly, but his fire powers had also granted
him a small bit of fire/smoke immunity. Alex hated it. He cursed
under his breath, and swore to never use fire or electricity again.
It might not have been the wisest battle choice, but he could live
with it, and it did more bad than good. "I'm fine," Alex muttered.
"Okay the. We'd better head back." Silver started to walk back to
the guild, her flying muscles needed a rest. Her wings were flat
against her back, still feeling the effects of the prolonged use.
She'd have to get used to it, build up the stamina. She might need
it if they were to be racing after dragons for the next while.
Alex was unusually quiet on the flight down, except for a small
huff when they landed. Didn't even try to make a pun or anything.
He had a lot of thoughts whirring through his head. He looked at
his surroundings, observing, before mumbling: "Lets go beck to the
guild, I guess."
Just arriving, Shadow saw Silver and Alex going back. Alex seemed
abnormally quiet. “I guess he just is a bit tired from all that
drama. Shadow thought.
Then, he had an idea. “My offer for grappling hook flying is still
open! I know how much you like to have fun, and it won’t bother me
at all.”
Alex smiled, then sighed. He appreciated Shadow trying to help, but
would he really be treated the same by the group if they knew that
he had burned down half the cafe? "Eh, I'm fine, thanks." Alex gave
a forced but real looking smile. The group continued heading back
to the guild.
Silver let herself be satisfied with the coins she'd picked up on
the quest. Maybe she could buy an upgrade eventually, who knows?
But they'd have to tell Starlight about the cafe, hopefully she
wouldn't be too mad about it.
"Theres four of us and the guild, we need to probably give half to
the guild and split the rest four ways." Alex was happy to get his
mind off of guilt, but it didn't help much. "There's 2000 pieces
here, so we should give 1000 to the guild and each keep 250
pieces." Alex said calmly. He used a claw to split the money into
piles.
Lyra was frustrated with everyone, Why do they not trust me,
thought the despairing archer. If they were gonna act like that to
her why would she even help them. When she got back to the guild,
almost everyone was awake. There were cats by the cauldron, there
were others practicing for battle and then there were the resting
ones. She wanted to make some potions for the guild so she walked
over to the cauldron, so she could try to make some useful stuff.
