"Ashburn refused to go any higher than a Baron before because he didn't want the King's eye on him, as he was planning this whole Vampire thing. Now that he's managed to become a Vampire, he wants to get as high a position as possible, not for power, but to get closer to the King and deal the decisive blow."

Yggdrasil looked around to make sure no one jumped out at them. Relic and Vestige scented the air for the same reason. Vail and Kiro along with Kiro's knight, Storm were trying to think of a plan.

Duke Ashburn was laughing at his new base of operations:

"It's only a matter of time before I'm made Highlord. And from there on, it's over for that fool Arthur!"

A guard loyal to the King tried to stop Ashburn, but the latter simply sent him flying across the hallway:

"Now, my friend, I give you two options. You can die painfully against an immortal vampire... or you can recieve this immortality."

The guard bowed to Duke Ashburn. The Duke then transformed the guard:

"Of course, everyone chooses vampirism over death."

Ashburn then made a public appearance, holding a speech about how he is going to end the curse. His speech got him the title of Highlord. A messenger came for the knights:

"By order of His Majesty, King Arthur, the Knights of the Round Table and their Pokemon have been placed under direct command of Highlord Ashburn. You are to meet him at his own castle just outside the city. If he thinks you worthless and makes you into slaves, you are to obey his command!"

Yggdrasil turned looked around. Him and Vail stayed close to each other. Neither of them had a knight.

Owin stayed close to Relic and Vestige. Storm and Kiro stayed close as well.

Isake was with Mirage a few miles away from where the other knights were.

Two of Ashburn's guards went to get Isake and Mirage. Ashburn stood up when he saw the knights enter:

"I see that my new knights have arrived. You have hated me for so long, yet you've never seen face to face with me. Let me introduce myself. I am Highlord Cecil Ashburn."

The Highlord stood up and slowly walked towards them.
That's why I said 'Hey, man, nice shot!'

Mirage doesn't have a knight. He's confused about Ashburn's motives.

Storm and Kiro were both quite scared. They hadn't been a Knight-Pokemon pair for long.
