Mirage is unsure if he should follow, in order to try and keep Nell safe.

The Baron's spies brought him a vial of Destral's energy retrieved from the battle against Phantom:

"Luckily, I never even thought that that useless husk of death would help me. This will be enough."

The Baron drank from the cauldron. Suddenly, he started growing taller, he went from old and overweight to young and handsome, his eyes and skin lost all color, turning pure pale white, and he felt the need to drain blood. He looked one of his servants in the eye. Suddenly, the servant died and the Baron's skin regained some color:

"Glorious..."

He prepared his next plan. His next arrow would be aimed at Destral.

Meanwhile, the news quickly. A town crier yelled out near the knights:

"Breaking News! Count Dalton was slain by unknown forces and Baron Ashburn is now Count Ashburn. He has been asked why he looks so young, and he admitted the scandalous truth! He took a potion to make himself younger and fitter because he hated his old body! Of course, we all believe the Count- he's one of the most influential people around!"

Hans and Franz facepalmed:

"We aren't the brightest around, but come on, these people are just stupid! Count Dalton gets murdered by weird inhuman forces, Ashburn succeeds him as Count and he suddenly looks young and pale! This can only be vampirism!"
