so, i know a lot of you must use the fountain. it can be very useful, especially with its increased shiny chance and increased mega chance, but.. that megachance is completely useless when you are breeding a pokemon without a mega. for example, my current hunt is nudes. that little dude doesn’t have a mega. so, my suggestion is the following:
- if there’s no mega for the pokemon you are currently hunting, then you cannot get increased mega chance from the fountain.
- INSTEAD it is replaced with a higher chance to get nothing from the fountain or to maybe get the higher breeding chance (i feel like i remember getting this from the fountain, i may be wrong).

so a quick run down of that is
- breeding a pokemon that has no mega = no chance of increased mega from the fountain = higher chance to get nothing from the fountain or getting a higher breeding chance

i do hope i explained that well enough??

Problem is that all of them have a chance of being useless, depending on your circumstances, so only doing this for mega able would be unfair.

how would it be unfair if getting the megaable would have 0 use if you’re on a hunt that has no mega? everything else is useful. if you don’t want the shiny you can sell the shiny. if you get the breeding chance, you get more eggs to get whatever you need. i’m not sure if there’s any other chances besides those tree and nothing happening. but if you’re on a hunt without a mega, it’s literally the same as nothing happening so why not just take out the chance is its not possible to get on that hunt?

The person in question might not be hatching any eggs [focussing on leveling] or not breeding any pokémon.
Just because it doesn't apply to you, doesn't mean it doesn't apply to anyone.

why would they use the fountain if they’re not breeding pokemon? all the bonuses have to do with breeding pokemon. the increased breeding, mega-chance, and shiny chance, then nothing happens according to the wiki. so what use would they have for the fountain when everything that it does has to do with breeding? and possibly fishing or the honey tree, though i’m not sure if the fountain affects those.

It's literally 24 hours max and 100 PD spent, it's not that deep.
Yeah it's frustrating sometimes, but at the end of the day it really doesn't matter. I also find sometimes that even with the increased chances of anything at the fountain no matter what hunt or anything I'm doing, I don't end up getting it either. For example, I've sometimes gotten less eggs in the daycare on a day where the fountain said I had an increased breeding chance than the previous day when I didn't throw a coin in the fountain.

Mega chance: can be used with lab hunting (I got a nice mega-able Larvitar from the lab on a mega boost day)
Shiny chance: lake trio vouchers, retro eggs, and honestly that random shiny chance from the lab does get people lucky sometimes

It's not all breeding. Overall I'd rather not make the fountain overly complicated, it's nice and simple and is exactly how it should be.

Even if ur not breeding a mega-able pkmn, a mega boost would also be useful. One example of this is when u wish to get a mega-able from the beach e.g. sm magikarp, mega-able event magikarp.

The reason it is so entertaining to use the fountain is because it's based on chance. Might as well have a shiny lab because then you could have all the shinys you want.
