There are already tons of mystery box items, and there are so many other ways that it could've been gotten from. We have the not even released silver box and Ultra Saddle will be put into the rest of the pack of colored boxes. Which will make ultra beasts much more harder to find and sought after. They aren't even supposed to be a mascot too - they are just mini legendaries or not even legendaries at all, very similar to the three birds and beasts. The item may be better as a consumable, but it shouldn't just be another one of those really rare summon items that you can barely hunt and get things with, and think about it. You would need 11 ultra saddles to get all the ultra beasts! Not only would this make it more easier to get ultra beasts (still harder than most legendaries like Hoopa though), shiny hunters and regular users would be able to plan their hunts except for leaving it to luck. Zekrom, which was released a year ago still doesn't have shiny on-site because of it being a summon item legendary. Should ultra beasts really go the same route? Here are some ways that I think would be a better place to get them.
>50,000 GC (this would make 14 items in the game center and 10 Pokemon)
>50,000 PD in the item shop (Misc. Items or rare daily offer, I mean, could even be a saddle saturday or something with a stock of 1500...)
Least recommended
>2500 FP in Emera Square
>Battle Shop for 50 BP
>Gem Cauldron recipe
>Berry Garden recipe
>Commonly found in Space (rumble area)
>Trading in emera beach
>Reward after every time you spend 250DP
Keep in mind, the prices given are subject to change to be more fair
According to recent data the chance to get an ultra saddle is estimated to be 4% or one out of every 25 boxes.
People often think the PH sprites are bland. Do they shade? Well, yes they do. You'll be surprised how much care is taken for these sprites.
When beach came out I used to go there everytime to get new items but after a few days it became boring since I had gotten every item so I think putting saddle like mega stone in beach would be great.
-Most players are not big fans of the battling system, so I'd imagine moving the saddle there would make the userbase angry.
-I personally just don't like the berry garden. I bought all the legends from here via GTS because I can't see myself investing a lot of time in leveling berries.
-The beach is a "love it or hate it" place. There's already a lot of rare things to be found there, so I'd rather see the beach be an additional place to find the saddle, not the only/primary place.
-It makes no sense to have in the gem cauldron, since the cauldron produces gemstone-like items (aside from the "whoops" items with mega stone boiling). It would also make the gem market even more broken than it is now. There's already a lot of uses for gems, and it would make shiny hunting the UBs very cumbersome (because I can guarantee: it would use dragon gems).
I'd be fine with it being a rare item shop item... IF there's a cap set on how many a user can buy per day, or it has unlimited stock. Otherwise, it will turn into a scenario where the same users buy out all the stock and resell them for more PD than they paid.
Space is a fine idea too (Space, Ultra Space, makes sense), but considering it blocks off all the users who don't have Deoxys and you only have a chance of getting one item per week, it would make things painfully slow. Alola would be a better choice, since all users can get the area relatively easily and it doesn't take as long to rumble there (plus the UBs originated in Gen 7).
tl;dr I'm fine with them being in mystery boxes, but if they HAD to be moved, I'd rather it be as unlimited stock in the item shop on rare occasions or as a rare find in Alola.
But yeah, I think putting them in Mystery Boxes is going to break prices of them tremendously, and it won't change for a long time. Ultra Saddle price is already broken enough as is, they are going up to 2m if not even more. That has never really happened with an event item before, especially where lots of people can get one easily with such an event. This means that there's a substantial demand for it, and basing its long term availability around an RNG-based system isn't going to help it, especially with there being a time gated source for obtaining them (keys & boxes) behind that. You got to think there's going to have to be tons of these for shiny hunters, and they will be saving them up in loads especially considering how many Ultra Beasts there are, and how many of the item you would need for 1 shiny hunt for a single Ultra Beast. They were also all just thrown out at us also which isn't really a good thing either, and you can't really argue it, because normally this never really happens with a lot of Pokémon that get released which are special in some way here on site. Although personally, I love seeing a bunch of Pokemon we're finally missing that are arriving on site, but you got to really think how much of an impact this is going to have on prices and what the economy will be like.
I agree with the idea that this suggestion is putting across though, 100%. Maybe not so much about what this is particularly suggesting for such an idea though.

note that; I'm not against the box idea, however because of RNG and the number of keys to boxes I have That don't match it already takes a long time to open a box, then to just get a berry or something that isn't the saddle. I'm fine with it being in the boxes, I just think there is a better way to do it. Especially for shiny hunters.
i think getting ultra saddles from rambling in alola like nebula stones is p cool, though i think they should be slightly more common than nebula stones because, well
9 legendaries
im not too sure if i like the idea of buying ultra saddles with PD though or else it could get pay to play really fast
game chips and festival points are a bit more fair but very bothersome to get imo
Getting them through PD is probably the best option so far, it would ensure that everyone who are fairly active can buy one. I mean, you can argue it would be pay to play/win, but PD isn't necessarily the same as nuggets.

You can trade nuggets to gems but that doesn't mean getting Zygarde is unfair. (even though thats how a lot of people feel)
