Kovu agreed with a short smile. ''I rather we only run into kind
dragons and nothing less! Maybe even a baby dragon so we know it
cannot hurt us! Though I agree. The mean dragons could ruin
everything for us. They could attack the village or be
killed...either way it is not good for what we wish to do.'' He
sighed. ''Was it the same dragon that scared your horse?'' He
asked.
Rose shook her head. "There was another that scared him off. I'm
not sure if that one knew I was there or not either. It's hard to
tell sometimes." She Pat her horse once more before she looked at
Kovu. "Shall we find your cousin and get her into that hut?"
Kovu nodded and headed towards the entrance of the stable. ''She
shall be super happy to hear that she can have the hut. She will
take the best care of it! She also will take the best care of
anyone here, as she loves caring for people.'' He smiled, waiting
for her. ''If you get hurt by a dragon....'' He smiled weakly.
''She will help you.''
Rose smiled. "I hope some of the herbs are still there and useable"
she replied. "Though if there aren't, I know there are still some
herbs here in the village she could use."
Kovu smiled at the thought of his cousin finally getting the job
she wanted for so long. '''I am sure she will plant a herb garden
too, if you would allow her to. Thank you so much, Rose. '' He
smiled glancing about outside of the stable for his cousin. ''It
has been a while since we have had a healer.'' He then looked over
at Rose with a laugh. ''I wonder if there is a herb that is like
catnip to dragons!''
Rose couldn't help but laugh. "There is room by the hut for an herb
garden. I am glad we will finally have a healer. It will be better
if anyone gets sick again, or hurt."
Zeek let out a sigh. He slowly stood up and shook of the dirt that
was on his wings from the cave. He was sleeping in a trash nest as
he wasn't able to get a nest made recently.
Kovu smiled towards Rose with an agreeing nod. ''Right, it always
is hard caring for a family yourself. In my house, once one gets
sick...everyone gets sick! At least now we can get help before the
sickness gets us all.'' He smiled softly. ''Yeah, be glad you don't
have a home filled with kids. There is always something happening
or someone getting sick...as apparently it is okay to play in the
cold while it is raining.'' He laughed spotting Kona and waving at
her.
Kona glances about before approaching with a frown. ''Did I cause
trouble?'' She asked.
Ratholas glances about before looking at the two young dragons.
''Where are you two going?"
Kanguard glances at Ratholas before looking at Sarkany. ''Off to
the top or at least try to the top of the mountain.'' She smiled
softly, only getting a little glare from him. ''Be careful. Before
you go, did you two bring your yak to Zeek? I know you did not
finish it and it has a lot left on the bones. I told you, Kanguard
to bring that to Zeek.'' He then panicked a bit. ''Wait, did anyone
see him come up with us?"
Rose smiled and giggled. "Actually, I want to show you something"
she said. "And you aren't in trouble." She motioned Kona to follow
her and Kovu. "I think you will like this surprise. And you are
right Kovu, sickness spreads easily with a lot of people."
Kona followed after the two, slightly worried for a few seconds to
what they were bringing her to. Though she held a smile hearing
Rose and seeing Kovu's smile. ''Talking about your family and the
common cold?" She asked.
Kovu agreed with a smile before glancing at Rose. ''I plan to stay
with you cousin when that cold does hit the family.'' He smiled.
''You will enjoy it for sure!''
Rose held her smile as she lead the way to the hut. "I heard you
wanted to be a healer" she said. "And that your family doesn't
fully accept it. I know the feeling of family not wanting you to
follow your dreams."
Zeek headed to the entrance of his cave and looked out at the
village.
Sarkany shook her head, heading off towards a ledge to climb up.
''Come on Kanguard!'' She called. ''If he wants any yak, he can get
it. We must see how far up we can go.''
Kanguard glances at Ratholas before taking off after Sarkany.
Ratholas shook his head when the young dragons barely listened to
him. ''Kanguard, Sarkany.'' He said sternly, though they ignored
him again.
Kona smiled towards Rose, bowing her head. ''Yes, it has been my
dream since I met the healer as a child.'' She looked rather
curious then. ''Wait, why are you saying this?" She glances back
before seeing the hut. ''You are allowing me to follow my dream?
Rose! I cannot! That is the hut!'' She smiled over at Rose. ''Are
you truly offering me the position?"
Kona bowed her head, smiling at her. ''How can I ever repay you for
this? I am utterly shocked! Thank you!'' She rushed into the hut,
opening p the old door slowly to let light finally filter in. She
smiled happily to look at what would be hers.
Kona turned around looking at Rose. ''I will be the best you have
ever known and ever will meet.'' She smiled. ''You can always stay
here on a cot if you ever need away from your parents. We know what
it is like being in each other's shoes. I cannot believe you are
doing this after what is happening. I am sorry.''
Kona bowed her head happily. ''I shall request you for sure.'' She
said quietly, glancing at her cousin. ''You as well, I know you are
good at farming.'' She smiled amused.
Kovu rolled his eyes, looking over at Rose. ''Why don't we make
Hunter do the garden?" He laughed. ''He can have all my jobs in the
farming! I do so hate it.'' He muttered. ''He can make a garden
too.''
Kovu smiled towards Rose with a laugh. 'Wonderful! I am still sour
over what he had said! It was just rude!" He nodded before smiling
at his cousin. ''If he ever goes to you for herbs, give him useless
herbs first. He needs to suffer a bit!'' He smiled.
Kona smiled a bit towards Rose and at her cousin. ''I will see what
I can do...if he gets sick...Anyway, thank you Rose. Thank you. It
would be wonderful if you helped me with the garden.''
Rose laughed. "I am still rather sour over it too, though I knew it
was coming" she replied. "Thank you both, and Kona, I do have a
small favor to ask."
