Okay, I was just mucking around and this idea came out of nowhere. I hope it doesn't sound like my old one, because now that I think about it that was just plain stupid. But enough of that.

How it works:

Every week, we can host a Ponyta race. Players make bets of up to 500 on one Ponyta out of six. If the Ponyta a player bets on wins, then they get double the amount of money they betted. If the Pokemon loses, then the player loses the money they bet.

If your bets win three times in a row, you get 1 nugget, and a Mystery Box of a random colour.

I'm going to accept suggestions for this, and I really do hope I can help Pokeheroes in some way.

You didn't define what we are betting 500, is it pd, game chips, anything else?

Are the chances which ponyta will win random? (I assume yes since your win is fixed on double of the bet)
To win three in a row chances are 1/216, on average that special price will cost you 36k not defined units, doesn't seem worth it, if once a week the game is played, probably no one will care for it since getting that special prize seems like it will never happen. And just like mentioned, not worth it.

Putting the special prize aside, this game is obviously made for losing, is not even close to being fair.
If win was 6 times the bet, then it would be just another coin flip but with six options, which would basically be throwing a dice, while the possibility of another price "if....then...." makes a difference.

Alright. Taking in what you said, we'll be betting PD, and we could narrow the chances down to three or less Ponyta. And I also said "bets of up to 500" so it's their choice if they want to bet a lot of money or not.

Pretty good! Initially reading the title, I had assumed we would be entering our OWN horses into races which actually sounds fun now that I think about it, but betting is also a pretty cool concept so support from me!

Could you have each ponyta having a different chance of winning, and the less likely a ponyta is to win, the higher the payout?(i.e ponyta 1 has a 25% chance of winning, and you get, say, 2x your bet, where ponyta 2 has a 5% chance of winning but gives, say, 10x your bet)

Or something like that.

I like this idea! Support :) But I kind of agree with cosmin, it's a bit similar to coin flip. To make it more different, maybe you could add an event or something that's only obtainable through that? Sort of like getting Lugia from the lottery. Also, I think the maximum bet should be higher, maybe 5k or something like that? I also like Turtles's idea.

Possible. But I'm not sure if the spriters would be happy creating another Ponyta event Pokemon just for this. Turtle, your idea could work, because it's still be random, but once everyone worked out the Ponyta with the highest winning possibility, they'd just bet on that one.

They don't have to be the same each time, although what I meant earlier is that you can see the probability and multiplier for payout, and you should be able to bet accordingly. There should be a lot of Ponytas so that no Ponyta's probability of winning is above 25%, though.

We could have an alternate form of game chips or something, or we could just use game chips, or, alternatively, we could go back to the original idea and just have, for example, a better mystery box the lower the chance of winning.

I'm torn on this. I like the idea, it's a good one. And I support something close to the idea.
But as a weekly event for gambling? Doesn't seem worth it to me.
My suggestions? Put it as an option in the Game Center.

That makes more sense. I can imagine it being a payout of how many Pokemon there are (Doesn't have to just be Ponyta or Rapidash! They aren't the fastest out there) for example if there are six Pokemon racing, then your bet multiplies by six. And I like Turtles' idea, it can be in multiple forms of currency, Pokedollar or Game Chips.

There can be multiple stages of racing (Beginner, Intermediate, Pro; Like the Concentration game) that can maybe be unlocked for different Trainer Levels? Just an idea. Each level has a different number of Pokemon racing, thus the different chances to win.

And then maybe adding a special prize at the end of getting a surprising five-win streak or something. Maybe another way to get the Lake Trio? I'm having a very difficult time getting those on my own.

TL;DR - I like the idea, but I think it should be implemented as a game in the Game Corner instead.

@MetalHeadKendra Also a good idea. Maybe I could change it to the Game Center option. Beginner could have 4 Pokemon, Intermediate could have 6, and Pro could have 10 or something? Your idea of having the bet multiplier depend on the number of Pokemon is also great. And the Lake Trio option is possible too! @Turtles88888888 We could have a random way of picking which Pokemon could have which probablity like you said. Switch on an old lava lamp and count the floating blobs maybe? You're also right, the probablilty of wining about (insert number here) would depend on the number to get the fair choice. For example, following MetalHeadKendra's idea, Beginner would have no probablity above 25%, Intermediate 15%, and Pro 10%. However, that would make it more of a guessing game. And yes, we can have a special currency—maybe Laramie Tokens? Speed Coins? Any ideas?

I support this new idea, and, although I could see why people don't, I can see the fun in a new method of Gambling on non-traditional Gambling method such as this, and possibly more in the future.
