Makau hadn't said anything since the moment she walked in, and she
wasn't breaking that streak. She had listened to what they were
dealing with without giving feedback, signed 'Fear' under special
operative without a word, and claimed the top bunk of one of the
beds silently. Truly, the girl who had the bottom bunk wasn't too
bad. Makau had seen her writing in a notebook earlier, and lurking
next to the wall. She didn't mindlessly chatter like the others, or
seem too confident and boastful. It reminded her of someone, and
she made a mental note to possibly talk to her later. As she
thought about this, she stared up at the ceiling, and knew she
wouldn't be sleeping much tonight.
Clover woke up the next morning, face down on a desk. She blinked
and sat up, wiping the drool from the side of her mouth. She
checked the clock: 6 AM.
She ran out of the room. "Up, everyone! Time to get going!" She
called.
Makau was already awake, and simply hopped down from the top bunk
as gracefully as she could. It wasn't her best landing, but she
didn't injure herself. Briefly stretching, she ran a hand through
her hair to correct it.
Clover stretched and ran up the balcony, turning on the coffee pot.
"...All we really have are protein bars. They're good, though, and
most of the people out there don't have even that much due to the
perpetual blizzard..." She pointed up, to indicate the outside.
"We're low on coffee, too, so be wary of that."
