So I received a light stone from the free event. When I went to use it at the ancient cave, it asked me a question, which I answered. A page popped up that said my light stone had gone away, with a red message underneath it that said I needed a light stone in order to activate the page. I received nothing. :(

Ah, forgive me for adding on, but I've heard that even people who've answered correctly have been losing their stones. ^^;

I, for one, answered incorrectly, so I lost my stone, but it seems a lot of people who did answer correctly still lost their stone, so maybe this thread is worth making.

I think how it works is that if you answer it wrong you lose your stone in general, and if you get it right you lose the stone but get a wounded pokemon to heal which will continue the quest

Yes, but I've heard people losing their stones even after the wounded Pokemon event, so it definitely seems a little fishy. It'd be nice to hear if it was a bug or just a quest no one's figured out yet.

You get to try again if you chose the right answer and got the wounded pokemon.

If you answered wrong you cannot get the wounded pokemon or advance.

What I think is confusing is the question. Other than whether or not you get a wounded pokemon or not, how are you supposed to know whether it's the right or wrong answer? Just by chance?

Ok lets clear this up.

You got to the cave - and as soon as you answer the question Right or Wrong you will ALWAYS lost your stone.

Get it right - You get a wounded pokemon which you HAVE to bring up to a level and then you exhcange that pokemon for the Egg to 'prove your worth' so to speak.

Get the question wrong - You lose the stone AND you don't get the pokemon.

Sorry that's how the game works and as Error said, the front page tells you which one if you read it ^^

Hope this clears up any confusion.

Also if you HATCH the pokemon (Legendary) It WILL break your shiny Chain.

Adopting the egg DOES NOT. Hatching dose.

One second, just out of complete curiosity. What happens if you have a party full of eggs when you get to that part? Does it let you like claim it or?

You will be able to claim the wounded pokemon with a full party. It will just go to the first box with a free space
