"Wouldn't the butterfly have been its breakfast?" It would make sense at this point that Rylie had absolutely no clue what a dragon even was. To her, it was just a lizard. If she even knew what that was.

"A dragon that small doesn't eat people yet." Mals says, poking his head around the corner, blinking at the figures in front of him. He'd been unable to resist going after someone with a creature so... majestic. He'd never been allowed pets, so he had to make do with the sparse encounters he had occasionally. "Duh. Anyone can see that. Butterflies probably aren't enough, though."

Apple looked at Rylie, then Mals, then Lance, glancing at them with the same face, an utterly confused and done expression. I only left the house for about an hour and this is what it comes to? he thought before going back to his senses. "Hey, hold on! Elise you dang idiot, you killed guards and now we're going to be wanted as criminals!" Apple yelled yet whispered to her. "I know we caught that thief over there and found a wizard with a minuscular dragon but that won't free us from fate!" he continued, rambling on and on about what would happen to them.

Lance was a little confused as to how the new dude that just started speaking knew that he was a wizard, but decided to shrug it off. »Dang right, you're in trouble, because I, the great Lance, am here to catch you and bring you to the guards to ensure safety around the kingdom!« he said while striking a heroic pose, completely ignoring the fact that an unknown person just had low key exposed the fact that his dragon wouldn't be able to actually hurt any of these people.

"Take one step out of this alleyway and i'll toss you into the trash." Apple warned him, pointing at the mountain of garbage bags near them. "Anyway, for the time being you'll be stuck here with us wether you like it or not." he said, clearly irritated. Please tell me this isn't the party i'll be stuck with from now on, he said to himself in his head.

Rylie pulled out a cracker and gave it to the dragon, speaking in absolute gibberish. She was pretty much completely unaware of EVERYTHING around her. Everything. The world could have ended and she wouldn't have noticed.

(Basically, Lance showed up and threatened everyone with his baby dragon who just ate a butterfly. That's basically it, I guess)

Lance glared at Mals. »I'm not in a predicament,« he said quickly.
He saw that one girl tried to feed his dragon a cracker. »Hey wait don't do that, she's allergic to gluten,« he said quickly and took the cracker out of the girls' hand before his dragon could even nibble on it.

"Well, it was lovely to see such an adorable creature up close," Mals gives the dragon a little scratch in a place he knows it'll like, hiding a smile. "But I really must go." As much as he hated to leave when he could spend more time with the scaled specimen, he had to keep moving. He always had to keep moving. Maybe he could pick up an animal of his own, they did seem to like him more than the usual person.

Lance stared at Mals. »Hey you, wait. If they'd suspect me, they'd surely end up suspecting you as well,« he said and grabbed his arm to stop him from going. »So you'll be stuck with us as well«.
He didn't want to admit that he was amazed at how easily Mals seemed to bond with this dragon that he, personally, had a hard time bonding with, even though he was the one taking care of it all the time even before it hatched, and he didn't want to admit that he wanted to learn how he did that.

"Not if they don't see me and I never come back." Mals replies, staring at the boy who had grabbed his arm. Truth be told, Mals was quite uncertain about whether or not he could escape this one. Sure, he knew some shortcuts and stuff, but still. Not to mention he really wanted to spend more time with the dragon, and ask the owner a few questions.

Lance fixed his eyes at Mals'. For a moment, he was quiet and only looked into the other persons' eyes, as if he was waiting for a reaction. But before anything else could happen, he started yelling around. »Yo, this dude belongs to our group as well!« he yelled, shoved Mals out of the alleyway for everyone to see and instantly pulled him back. »Welp, now they saw you, oops. Guess you'll have to stick with us after all«.

Mals felt a flare of anger, and he almost, almost, lost his temper. A dozen ideas of what to do flashed through his mind - shoving the kid back into a wall, punching him in the face, the possibilities were practically endless. But he didn't, he brushed the kid's grip off of him and rolls his eyes. "Great. Now I'm stuck. If my family ever hears about this, they'll kill me, you know."
