Mel looked between the two of them, slightly amused. She honestly wasn't too surprised, considering she'd been listening to Lucario for god-knows-how-long at this point.

"Anyways," Roy continued, "What ARE you doing here? I haven't seen you since... then."

"I have a job from my employer! It involved finding you and your friends here and telling them something... but I forget what..." Rose said, looking like she had forgotten what she had meant to say.

Meanwhile, a Pokemon's glare came from a bush, looking... almost malevolent.

"This isn't the shining, you don't have to say things at the same time." Mel muttered, crossing her arms and shivering. She glanced at Lucario. "By the way, I'm gonna call you Riu again. Mom's not here to stop me, she can fight me."

Riu nodded and then turned his head slightly, ears twitching nervously. Something felt off. He tugged on Mel's sleeve.

"What?" She asked in surprise.

"I don't know. There's something weird around here."

Mira saw it. She got to her feet instantaneously. "Welp, if you want to tell us something, we better go get Tiger," She said coolly, managing to hide the worry from her voice quite well.

Toka glanced down at Riu from Mira's hood. "Uh. I don't think this is good."

Riu looked between Toka and the bush. "Agreeing with that." He growled, taking a few hesitant steps forward, just enough to stand in front of the group, but not close enough to reach the bush.

"Tiger went to challenge the gym, remember?" Mel pointed out lowly.

"WHAT NO DON'T LEAVE ME WITH HERRRRRRRRRRRRR!" Roy shouted towards Mel and Mira, noticing the bush.

"Relaaaxxxx, little bro."

"We're twins."

"I'm older by 5 full minutes."

"Whatever."

While Rose and Roy were arguing, the Pokemon hopped out of the bush. It was a Gible. It immediately launched towards Roy and started biting his leg.

"AAAAAAAAAGHH!!! Rose, help meeeeeeeeeeee......" Roy said, being dragged by the Land Shark Pokemon.

Mel paused midstep, back turned to the scene. "Do I want to turn around?"

"Only if you want to see Roy getting dragged away by a land shark" Riu said, watching the scene. "Should we..?"

"Ehhhh.." Mel grinned. "Yeah. HEY ROY, YOU NEED HELP? AURA SPHERE." She shouted to Riu, who nodded and leapt forward.

"Shoot. Now I feel bad. Hang on, can we.." Mel dug around in her backpack, holding up an oran berry victoriously. "Can we, like, make it less willing to attack us?" She held out the berry in front of her, slightly nervously.

Riu prepared to leap to her defense.

Scyther was hit by the ember he shook himself in an attempt to shake the move off. He ran at Charmeleon with a quick attack. Charmeleon then slid back from the move. "Use a dragon claw" Tiger said quickly. Charmeleon nodded and ran at Scyther the move made contact and Scyther fainted.

,(Was to lazy to make a full fight scene...)

Victor was also distracted from the battle and noticed Gible.
"I don’t think the Gible will be satisfied with such a small berry." Victor said, looking in his bag for more berries. But Cosmo suddenly came out of his bag compartment and looked around. "COSMO I TOLD YOU NOT TO COME OUT." Victor shouted quickly looking at the Cosmoem.

"Cosmo, return." Victor said, his voice now as stern as he could make it. He didn’t want Rose to know that Cosmo was a legendary. "Things might not be safe." He said to the Cosmoem in an undertone.
"I need fresh air. I'll go in only if you give me Sundays off from the bag." Cosmo said and went into his compartment once more?
