"It's not safe or a good idea. Dusk was just mind controlled, everyone was beat up-- Wait, where's Mira? Wasn't she with you?" Mel asked in confusion, looking around.

Mira finally willed herself to sit up. Literally nothing changed. Everything still looked the same, from the forests around, to the Pokemon Center. Everything.

Toka bounded out of the boat, elated, and Mira couldn't help but follow. People looked her way as she passed. "Mira!" Someone called out. She looked over.

"Hey, Mr. Vernon!" Mira replied, waving to the fisherman. She looked back to her pokemon. "Ah. This is nice. Wonder if we'll see Liam?" Toka shook her head, and Mira giggled. "Nah, you're right. He's back in Vermilion."

They continued to Mira's old house, that was long untouched for about two years. She smiled sadly and rummaged around her bag until she found the keys.

Ivan was bored, and eating a malasada outside with his 'mons out. There was really not much to do. UB Burst is doing something, Victor is becoming the champion, and he didn't know where the rest of his friends lived. Booring.

Mel nodded. "Sounds like fun." She said, and then looked at his door. "The last time I was here was when you fell off a waterfall." She noted. "I hope Mira's okay."

"She said shed be fine..." Tiger said kindly, hoping to convince himself more than Mel. He then sighed, and shook the memory away. "This time is different" he said quietly, and opened the door to his house.

As soon as the door to the house unlocked, Mira was hit with the smell of dust. She sneezed and went in, looking around the old house. Still, everything was untouched, and just how she left it. "Hey! Toka, look!" Mira ran up to an old jacket. "Hm. I guess I never noticed this; Dad must have forgotten it."

Toka slithered up to the jacket and sniffed it, sneezing. Char barked, making them look over. She held a little rubber ball in her jaws, tail wagging. Mira frowned slightly. Salandit, noticing, nudged her.

She sighed and rubbed Salandit's head. "Okay, to business. Let's see if Dad had some insane foresight," Mira grumbled, letting Salandit jump off of her shoulder to bug Amana, who was prowling around.

She went to the old bookshelf and ran her fingers over the spines of the leather books. Journals, handwritten notebooks, and a few official textbooks lined the shelves until her eyes locked on one in particular: Mega Evolution and its Effects on Pokemon

"I hope so." Mel murmured, following Toger. "By the way, how's Dusk?" She checked. She'd completely forgotten about the Charizard.

"He's healing" Tiger said in a concerned tone. He remembered how the Pokemon was acting in the foundation. Tiger then threw his bag on the couch, and headed into the kitchen.

"I'm surprised they had the technology to make that machine. It must have taken ages." Mel sighed. "It was easy to destroy, though. They need better security around their stuff. I hope it doesn't happen again."

"You and I both..." Tiger said grimly agreeing with his friend. He then pulled the hot chocolate out of one of the cabinets, and got some moomoo milk from the fridge.

"Mega evolution can be tricky.

As we've learned through Abby, mega evolution really should not be activated more than twice a day. Any more than that, and the pokemon will begin to exert its power in moves outside of mega evolution, causing fatigue. Four times a day, and the pokemon can faint whenever it tries to use even the weakest of moves."

Mira winced slightly. "Toka, you remember Abby, right? Absol?"

Toka glanced over and nodded. "Dad wrote about her; apparently, accidentally activating mega evolution helped. Glad little five-year-old me could contribute."

Mel scampered over, staring at the stuff Tiger was taking out with wide eyes. It had been a while since she'd had hot chocolate (she guessed at least a few months). "Ahahahahahhh." She breathed, grinning. She shook herself. "I feel like I've already asked this today, but do we have school tomorrow?"

Tiger shook his head. "Not for the rest of the week...we go back in three days" he said partially distracted. He then put some milk in a pot, and began to hear it up, he added the hot chocolate mix to it.

Mel stared at the pot in something akin to child-like excitement. "That's good, 'cause I would have fallen asleep during class." She said cheerfully, skipping in a small circle.

Tiger nodded, and tilted his head slightly as Mel acted like a child. He then sighed, and shook his head, turning back to te pot, he finished the hot chocolate, and poured it into a cup for Mel. He then went to the fridge once more, and grabbed a sandwich for himself.

"Thank you so much." Mel breathed, cupping her hands around the cup. "Even if Alola is ridiculously warm at times, hot chocolate is still great." She said cheerfully, and then paused. "By the way, where is your mom? You said she got the moomoo milk from Johto? If it's by okay for me to ask."
