Mel yawned and closed her book, standing up and dropping it on her
desk before moving out of her room and into the kitchen, muttering
something about cereal as she did so.
Mira tapped her fingers against the table, and sipped her tea. She
sighed. "...I think we should go back to Kanto."
Char, Amana, and Salandit all blinked, surprised. "Just for a day!
I need to get something. We'd come right back, believe me. I'm not
done here, yet."
Amana got to his feet and butted Mira's leg gently. "It's... For
research purposes. Dad had these old books that I never got a
chance to read, books that he did himself with research on
different pokemon and minerals. I think Aether is up to something
that Dad may or may not have information on."
Tiger ate his malasada. He glanced at his pokegear in an attempt to
figure out what Aether might be planning next. He looked up
information on the UBs.
(Mira's probably the best character, she deserves a subplot
owo)
"SO LUCARIO MY BUDDY MY PAL MY FAVORITE GUY-"
"If you're going to ask me to stop hogging the blankets, the
answer is no." Lucario said gruffly, pulling the five blankets
closer to himself.
Mel shrank back into the kitchen. "Maybe we should go out and find
the others? I ran off."
"Your choice!" Lucario shouted from the living room.
"Fine. Let's go." Mel said, and she grabbed her backpack from the
floor and dragged Lucario out the door, leaving a pile of blankets
on the couch. "We're gonna go into town and get hot chocolate
because iVE BEEN CRAVING SOME FOR A SOLID MONTH."
Mira finished the tea and threw the cup into the trash. Nurse Joy
came out of the back, holding Toka's pokeball, and put it on the
counter. "Thanks!" Mira called to her, getting up and grabbing the
pokeball.
They raced outside and Mira let Toka out, who did not look
happy. "I got you out of Aether," Mira pointed out bluntly. Toka
rolled her eyes and cracked a smile, slithering up to Mira. "So.
Surprise. Back to Three Island for us."
Toka nodded, not seeming at all surprised. "I should probably tell
everyone, hm? Or..." Mira thought a moment. "Nah, I will."
She brought up her pokedex and texted Tiger: Heading back to
Kanto. Won't be for long, I'll be back tomorrow at the latest. Tell
Mel for me too
Tiger jumped in shock, and nearly fell out of his seat she his
pokegear went off. "Oh it's from Mira" he said with a sigh of
relief, and opened the message. He nodded, and replied back
alright I'll tell Mel. Stay safe he then closed his pokegear
and sighed. He then got to his feet, and walked outside. "Maybe the
library will have more information about the wormholes..." He said
to himself.
"HOT CHOCOLAAAATE." Mel shouted, barreling down the street. She
burst into the Pokémon center, dashing towards the drinks and
nearly leapt over the counter. "Please tell me you have hot
chocolate." She begged.
The man shook his head.
Mel sank to the floor. "Fine. We'll get our own. We just need
chocolate." She stood up and marched out the door.
"Please calm down." Lucario begged, following her out.
Tiger nodded, and got the last message from Mira. He put his
pokegear away, and looked up in shock as Mel, quite literally,
knocked him backwards. Cyndaquil looked after where Mel ran into
the Pokemon center yelling something about hot chocolate. "Uummm
if I didn't hear the hot chocolate part I'd think she was in
trouble..." the Pokemon said softly.
Tiger nodded in agreement with his pokemon, and got to his feet.
Mel's eyes immediately widened. "I love you, you're my
favorite."
"Excuse me??"
She ignored the pouting blue Pokémon. "I'm calm now." She said and
took several deep breathes. "I'm good. Sorry. You don't have to. I
know how to make it, I'm just missing milk."
"How are we out of milk? That's something a house that's
supposed to have two three year olds should have."
"I have some moomoo milk in the fridge. My mom is still out in
Johto visiting Elm, and she always brings some back from Whitney's
farm" Tiger replied partially thinking to himself. He ignored
Lucario's comment about the milk being for two to three year olds.
The ride made Mira realize just how far Kanto really was
from Alola.
It was a different time zone completely, and to Mira the sun stayed
in its same position the entire time. During the ride, she even
checked how many difference in hours it was--nineteen.
The weather changed quite drastically as well; it dropped. A
lot. For the first time in seemingly forever, Mira had to put
her hoodie on. By the time she reached the docks, she had fallen
asleep; Char had woken her up.
"ACK. Oh. We're here," She yawned, stretching. The sky was light,
yet she was somewhat afraid to sit up and look at Three Island.
"Umm..." Tiger said awkwardly. "Sure you can have some..." He said
wi a shrug, and walked in his direction to his house. "I need to
research more on the UBs anyway..."
(I can't even take her seriously at this point XD)
"Woo! Thanks!" Mel grinned and punched the air before skipping
after Tiger. "You're researching the UBs? Didn't one get into Alola
and Victor wasn't able to stop it or something? I think it's still
wandering around Alola." She realized in surprise.
Tiger blinked, and sighed "I'm not sure if it's safe to go looking
for it at this moment" he said uncertainly. He was still slightly
hurt from the wounds that Dusk dealt. "We could keep an eye out for
it if it decides to attack a town..." He said quietly.
