Before Koikit could answer her, Ivykit's ears perked up. She slowly made her way to the entrance of the nursery. A sparrow had landed right smack in the middle of the camp, looking away from the nursery, chirping quietly. She smiled and crouched down in a pretty incorrect hunting position, trying desperately to copy what the apprentices did outside of their den.

Stalking forward slowly, trying not to make a sound, she leapt a fox-length away from the bird and landed just short enough to nick the tail. The bird shot up into the air and flew away. "Aww..." She sighed, sitting down.

"We aren't apprentices yet, Ivykit," Koikit laughed slightly, "Nice try." She looked over to Snakekit and tilted her head. "Hey Snakekit, what are you doing?" she asked.

Ivykit smiled at Koikit and turned around to face Snakekit as well. "Do you wanna play with us?" She added, licking her ruffled chest fur.

Tigerpaw walked back toward camp with the rabbit in her jaws. She decided to go ahead of the group, she was about to continue forward when she bumped into Sandfeather. "There you are" she hissed crossly. Tigerpaw dropped the rabbit, and drew her ears back.

"I was just.." She began before she was cut off rudely.

"Save your excuses..you need to obey my orders, and as your mentor you need to finish the den" she said lowly. She then glared at Shellspeckle. "...so why did you bring her out here" she asked lowly.

Ivykit heard the exchange. She turned slightly and looked at Sandfeather. Jeez... I hope she's not my mentor... She thought, flicking the tip of her tail. I feel so bad for Tigerpaw...

"Oh, good, old Sandfeather," Shellspeckle purred, "I took her out because she looked bored. You can't keep an apprentice in camp forever. You need to train her. She's an excellent hunter. Besides, they're going to clean the den now. They even brought food for the elders."
(Wait when will it be night time so they can go to the Dark Forest?)

(Soon. If you'd like we can time skip to the meeting Flamestar was planning. After that the Dark Forest scene can happen)

Sandfeather looked at Shellspeckle, and sighed "she isn't your apprentice...and she was being punished" she said crossly, and walked away to the Warriors den.

"Punished for what?" Shellspeckle asked crossly. "Getting up late? Like you didn't get up at sunhigh when we were apprentices. Plus, if she is your apprentice, treat her as such."

Sandfeather shrugged simply, and narrowed her eyes at Shellspeckle "I'm not a fan of Tigerpaw...yes she's my apprentice, but I'd rather have Lilypaw as my appren-" she was then cut off as Flamestar walked over.

"Well I was going to ask you about that.." He said grimly. He then nodded a greeting at the two warriors.

"I'm doing quite well, Shellspeckle, thank you. Though I have a question for you two" he spoke formally, and sat down wrapping his front paws with his tail.

"Yes" Sandfeather asked lowly, and looked at the leader, she gave no greeting to the ginger cat.

Flamestar flicked an ear in annoyance, and looked over to Shellspeckle "I saw you take Tigerpaw out to hunt" he began evenly, and fixed his sapphire gaze on the warrior. His expression was unreadable.

"Well I was going to ask I'd Sandfeather wanted to train Lilypaw, but since it seems she hates Tigerpaw it'd be best if I gave Tigerpaw for you to mentor. You are a skilled warrior, and you don't have an apprentice yet. So since Lilypaw needs a mentor, and Sandfeather is there for her more than she is for Tigerpaw it'd be best if I gave her to you" he said respectfully. Sandfeather looked away sharply, and hissed crossly.

"Tigerpaw is still my apprentice, and I-" she began Flamestar then raised a paw in silence.

"I am leader here, Sandfeather. Tigerpaw needs to learn if she's going to become a warrior, and I believe you aren't the right fit for her" he said calmly, he then fixed his gaze on Shellspeckle once more "so what do you say?"

Flamestar nodded, and dipped his head respectfully. "Alright then. The meeting will be at moon high, and I have some other business to attend to" he began, and glanced at Owlpaw, Ravenpaw, and Crowpaw. He then remembered Ebonyfur's request, and looked over toward the medicine cat, who was glaring at the clan from his den. "Tell Tigerpaw, then all of you should get some rest. You'll need it before the meeting" he said kindly, and walked off to the apprentices.

Lilypaw poked her head out of the apprentice den, and flicked some fresh moss off her ear. "Tigerpaw is in the elders den, she might be talking to Lightningclaw right now" she said kindly. The young apprentice then pointed with her tail to the elders den "if you're looking for her that'd be the best place to do so" she purred, and went back into her den to continue cleaning.

Tigerpaw padded out of the elders den, and looked genuinely confused. "What's wrong Shellspeckle? I just got Lightiningclaw to stop complaining about his ticks" though she looked slightly annoyed at the sudden excitement the young warrior had, she purred a friendly greeting, and shook her orange pelt out. "Did something happen to make you as excited as a kit who just left the nursery for the first day" she added as a joke to the older cat.

"Flamestar came to talk to me and Sandfeather," Shellspeckle explained. "He said that Sandfeather will mentor Lilypaw, and I can mentor you."
