The mouse stood up and Ivypaw stopped, holding her breath, until
the mouse leaned down again. She took a few more pawsteps forward
and sprang, landing her paws on the mouse. She killed it with a
swift bite to the neck.
Tigerpaw shook her head "no...I mean it was the first night in a
while that I didn't dream, but I didn't get any sleep" she sighed,
and shook her head clear. "I didn't wake you did I?" she asked a
bit more concerned.
Tigerpaw nodded in understanding "yeah" she sighed. She looked back
at the river, and blinked. The movement of fish slightly caught her
attention, and reminded her she didn't eat since before the battle.
"I feel the same way" she said slightly distracted before going to
the shore of the water.
Tigerpaw narrowed her eyes to get a better view of the fish. Quick
as lightning, she flashed a paw into the river, and drew a fish
out. She then bit it swiftly before it went back into the river.
"Thanks" Tigerpaw nodded kindly. "They usually don't come
around...they only show up in times of a terrible storm" she said a
bit more to herself. "Which means..." she mumbled, and looked up.
She saw heavy clouds in the distance.
Flamestar looked up, and yawned. Tigerpaw blinked, and looked over
her shoulder at the storm. The rain beginning to fall down, and the
thick scent of the massive storm coming from behind it. "Tigerpaw?
Ivypaw? What's wrong?" He asked in concern, and tilted his head. He
was completely unaware of the monsoon storm coming.
Flamestar parted his jaws, and scented the rain. He looked outside
his den, and narrows his eyes. "We need to get to higher ground
then...the river might flood the camp" he said concerned, and went
outside. The rain began to pick up even harder.
Ivypaw frowned and stepped back, jumping down into the clearing.
She padded into the apprentice den. "Everyone up! There's a storm
coming and the camp could flood!" She hissed.
Tigerpaw went straight to the elder's den to help clear it out. She
sniffed around, and spotted Lightningclaw. "We have to go" she
meowed softly. Lightningclaw nodded, and looked over to the den's
exit where the river water was rising fast.
She worked her way to the medicine cat den next. "Shadowflame, wake
up! The camp is going to flood!" She called. Though I should
probably just leave you... She added silently.
