Easter Egg Hunt 2017
Forum-Index → News → Easter Egg Hunt 2017Instead you send us on a wild goose chase across he whole domain.
I don't get why this site obsesses about being hard.
hard =/= fun
frustrating =/= rewarding
I have clicked literally every single link on this site I could see and have 8... like what the hell.
It was just a turnoff, and I've stopped hunting and have stopped coming to the site as often as I used to because it's just frustrating.
And that's mostly if you want the special prize for finding all the eggs, though I know some are stuck with less than 10. And, well, it's still an Easter Hunt, so you can't really expect us to just hand them to you.
Just because it's hard, doesn't mean it's not fun for everyone. Something can be frustrating/challenging and still be fun. Now, clearly that's not the case for you, but that's simply a risk that's taken. We try to make the events fun for everyone and while we don't like failing, it's something that is bound to happen. Everyone has different likes and dislikes.
We're sorry you're not having fun with this particular event, but that doesn't mean no one is having fun.
Kitties! Riako has no idea what he unleashed with that update🙀

(You can win your own non-shiny Articuno in return)
Breeding events for the cause here!
No, you're right, frustrating and challenging can be fun, but this site uses it as an excuse.
And the flip side to your logic, just because you or one person is having fun, that doesn't mean every one is.
I don't mean to be unappreciative. Riako, you, and the whole team do a lot of work for this site, and put a lot of time and effort into this site, and I greatly enjoy the site. I'm naturally a collector and love being able to collect these nostalgic, fun, childhood memories via the site.
Please don't lose sight of the great things you do on here while reading my complaint, because I certainly haven't lost sight of it while writing it.
But that said, this site loves to make things tough on its users.
For the longest time, you weren't allowed to discuss Harvest Sprites (which I have still found zero of, even with new guides, btw...) or how to get badges. Even still it's frowned upon by some mods and users asking for help are painted as not being a true participant.
Even the clues given on the site are vague, often misleading or uninformative ("The beach of Emera Town is very useful for fishing. I'm always searching for the best place to find the biggest fish."...)
And as a new-user it's very difficult to gather PD, or win auctions as you get sniped last second by someone who easily doubles the highest possible bid you could make...
Interaction-based events require thousands and thousands of interactions.
As great as the site is, reality is we all have real lives. Most of us don't have the time to make 3000 interactions per day, or click on every page of every forum thread 10 times in hope of the last Easter egg popping up.
Wouldn't we all love to spend the whole day on here? Yeah! Sure! But that's just not possible.
@Catlady, if I record my "rummaging" throughout the sight, then later after the event egg locations are revealed it ends up that my last egg was indeed on a page I looked through but it wasn't visible, what then?
i agree with omosky, what if after the event is over, we can prove the eggs didn't exist? -.-
That's exactly it Eevecharm! There's not skill testing, nothing to actually be that proud of or that rewarding; it's just brute force.
A riddle or puzzle of equal difficulty would be instantly better.
Going through the site over and over again with no reward though is just tedious, taxing, and frankly boring.
