I never thought of hating or disliking it as a fan of Pokemon though, I sort of see it as another anime series I watch with a 'similar' concept ^^
To be honest, I think I prefer its animated series over Pokemon's, especially with Digimon Tri (which I've been loving so far), don't get me wrong, I love Pokemon and it's games and I loved its series as a kid but as I grew older, it sort of.. seemed really cheesy and tacky to watch xD; (kinnda blaming Ash though //shrugs//) I still watch it, Origin and Generations did remind me that I love Pokemon but yeah.. I like Digimon! >u<
Digimon even has some great games, I've played World 2 and Dusk/Dawn, not to forget Cyber sleuth - all of these I've enjoyed and I can't wait for the next game, they've all been fun <3 (Could have done without the recent rumble game though >A>)

I really want to find Digimon Tri in English...
I actually prefer it over Pokémon.

Now I love both and the Digimon Anime is really better than the Pokemon Anime. Digimon tri is so awesome and brings back many childhood memories. <3

I watched one episode, and wasn't a fan. The quality just ?? wasn't as good imo, and I disliked the theme song. Granted, that was quite a few years ago and I may be more open minded. But hey, I'd much rather scream the pokemon theme than "digimon, digital monsters" repeated in a weird voice. But everyone has their opinions. I did like the voice actors and character designs though! <3

I can say that the two animes aren't really comparable, past 'monsters as pets'. Pokemon is a very cheerful anime, with the problems always being solved and there being no overarching storyline but 'Ash gets to the Pokemon League'.
Digimon was way scarier. The kids get stuck in some parallel dimension, and manage to befriend the alien inhabitants, but they're stuck there! In one episode one of the kids breaks a plate at a digimon restaurant and is told he has to work there for three months to replace damages. The other kids break him out, but it's pretty awful for a children's show. :P
Pokemon is by far my favorite, but I've always had a soft spot for digimon, traumatic life lessons and all. :D

As an Anime, It's... too... Shallow. It's just about a boy named "Ash" or "Satoshi", who NEVER GROWS UP! In a Literal and Metaphorical sense. He wants to be the very best that no one ever was, but he never was and never will be. I've watched ever series and I have to say it so ANNOYINGLY REDUNDANT!
As a Game, It's Fun. I've played most of the main games from Gen I to Gen V, and the spin-offs like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon and Rangers. And It is always good. And the Character can actually be the very best that no one ever was.
Digimon: I prefer.
As an Anime, It's Dark, but in a way that a kid can relate to. I prefer Digimon because I grew up with it. I've also watched every series (From Adventures, to Xros wars until now), almost every movie and even listened to a japanese radio series. I love the characters, Especially "Takeru" or "TK" and "Patamon" and even the ugliest of the digimons like Numemon. Yes, the "mon" prefixes is annoying, at least it's just a name.
As a Game. I've only played The Digimon Story series and the frontier fight. It's good... But it's boring to grind, more boring than that of Pokemon.
So to summarize for anime Digimon wins and for the games I prefer Pokemon.
