The definition of sic is 'used in brackets after a copied or quoted word that appears odd or erroneous to show that the word is quoted exactly as it stands in the original'. Are you sure that you found that in your soup? Alternatively, 'sic' can also mean 'Sicily' or 'Sicilian', but I doubt that the chef would be able to fit the entire island of Sicily or a Si-oh. You mean that there is a human in your soup? Okay. You probably ordered Sicilian soup not knowing that the menu meant it literally, then.
