I was really excited for sitting on benches, too. I don't know why, I just thought it was kind of cool...and new. Like everything else in the game. I think I'll pick Fennekin, but I might pick the Frog starter, because my mum loves frogs. :3
I don't have a 3DS....nuuuu! >.< And I don't think I'd have enough to get it anyways....but still!

Right now, I personally prefer the Y version Pokémon, but I might get X.....who knows? :P

I'll be getting X. I so love Xerneas - I immediately fell for him in the very first moment. I've always had have a weakness for sylvan creatures. *sob*

Also, I'll be picking Fennekin. Ain't he cute? *_* Let's hope his evolutions won't turn out like Tepig's .. Tepig is such a cutie but Pignite and Embrorar .. I mean .. the hell!?

I'm so excited, can't wait to get my copy already! Seriously, the footage I've seen so far really impresses me.

I would actually get Y. *Spoiler below*

The fact that Xerneas is Fairy-type amuses me to no end.

I've always wanted a Dark birdy other than Murkrow. <.<
Nintendo are also doing a special pokemon X and Y 3DS XL design. Fuuuu... (But then again, I got the Legend of Zelda: Four Swords anniversary edition last February... because it was free xD)
I have a feeling that Yveltal might be the bringer of spirits to the underworld or something?

I think Xerneas is the Pokemon of life and Yvetal is the Pokemon of destruction. I don't remember where I saw that though, so it might not be accurate ;P

Well, to be honest, I've only ever played Pokemon Red, Diamond, and Platinum (yes, what a sad life indeed D: ), and I barely know anything about Unova, but I'm gonna try and catch up soon >:3 Maybe X will help me c:

@tina1016: All the regions are individuals, so you don't really need to know Unova for Kalos. Same with the Pokemon, since I don't know gen 5 that well, either. With the first Black and White, the only Pokémon you could get in-game before beating it was gen 5 Pokémon. They changed this in Black and White 2, but they might do it again in X and Y. So, we might not even need to know anything about Unova Pokémon. xD

Destruction pokemon FTW! I never liked Xerneas that much and when I found out it was a fairy type, I liked it even less. Though, I was kind of hoping Yveltal would be dragon and dark, but I guess it makes more sense to make it flying since it's a bit avian like (still looks more like a dragon than a bird to me).

I'm really looking forward to X and Y. I'm getting both, since I couldn't decide which I wanted more. Also glad it's being released on a Saturday so school won't get in the way.
The only thing I don't like about it is the new type. I mean, I would've been ok with a light type or some others, but fairy? My poor Gardevoir might be ruined. And my Salamence...
But anyways, I was sick of people hatin' on Unova, I'm glad not as many are doing it to Kalos.

Maybe because there's the awesome 3D animations.
But, Fairy-types.. @_@ Augh.

If I ever do get X or Y, I think I'll get Y and go with Fennekin.

Froakie is a french frog that's copied from the Poliwag line and the Tympole line.
Chespin... Is a chipmunk... thing. That's probably based off of the Bidoof line? 0-0

Honestly, the originality for Kalos is pretty terrible. There's a sword. Sylveon's pretty cool, but..

Can't think of good Eeveelutions? Let's just make one because Gen 1 had three! Can't think of a good appearance? Let's give it ribbons made of flesh! Can't think of a good type for it? Screw the people who think it'll be flying or light; let's make it fairy, and make a bunch of other Pokemon from the other gens a fairy-type too!

I'm not hating, just voicing my personal opinion. I'm deeply sorry if this offended anyone here.

I know, right? I can't believe they changed Mawile into a dual Steel/Fairy type, too. Now I'm almost definitely choosing Y....if I can get it. Depending on which Pokémon get announced next (and their place on the lame scale), I might want to wait for the next generation. I skipped Black and White since I could neither afford them nor make myself want to play them. :p

Anyways, my favourite part is exploring, so hopefully Kalos will be full of surprises. ^-^

Honestly...
I'm excited for everything in X and Y.

And... I'm gonna try and explain my opinion on the originality debate as clearly as I can, please don't get upset if I explain this badly..

I've watched the Pokémon franchise change and grow since the very beginning. I used to have the very first episodes on VHS. And I can honestly say, the originality debate has been happening since the very beginning...
Yes, Honedge is a sword... Well Magnemite is a magnet. Yes Froakie looks like Tympole, Poliwag, etc.. Spheal is also similar to Seel. These are the same ideas, repackaged.

One of the main reasons, I believe that so many people have a problem with this issue, is because it's human nature to dislike change and to believe that 'things were better when we were younger'.

I'm honestly surprised it took this long to have a fairy type. Look back at Clefairy, it's the 'fairy pokémon'. Or all the others over the years, who could easily have been made into the first fairy type.
I KNOW that this upsets a LOT of people, and that a LOT of people don't like it.
But hey, things change and grow.

What I'm trying to say is... You may not like these new Pokémon, and types right now... But when the next generation comes along, there'll be something else new that we don't like, or we'll start seeing more similarities between them and this generation. But these similarities have always been there..

I usually try to stay out of these debates as much as possible, since a lot of people are very close minded about it and I kinda have panic attacks about the idea of getting into arguments.
But, I know that all of you will listen (read), to what I'm saying and while in some cases, you may disagree, you will still respect my opinion and hopefully recognise that at least one of my ideas is valid.

Also... Yes some of the Pokémon they've decided are fairies have taken me back a bit, but hey! What can you do? It'll still be a fun game! There'll always be something we don't like right?

That's my two cents anyway!
Please don't take this as me bashing your opinions as I fully respect them and your right to have them, this is just mine :)

Two cents? More like a dollar! :D I agree with you, haters gonna hate. But I won't lie and say that I actually liked the Gen 5 Pokemon....

@Umfitsev, Mawile as a fairy type is something I thought they should have done long ago :P Also, I didn't want to buy B/W either, so instead I got it from mu library to try it out, and I kinda liked it :P The Pokemon still tick me off though....

Hehe, I did ramble a bit huh? :P
I didn't like Gen 5 at first, but they grew on me after I watched the anime :)
Mainly after Sewaddle's debut episode. 'Se-wa-wa!' -headbump- ^^ so cute.

After some thought I can SEE why Mawile is a fairy type now, but I'm still a bit 'ehhhhhh are you SURE?'
It could be worse though! They could've made something like Golem a fairy type, then we'd just be sitting here in stunned disbelief :P

I'm kind of irritated at the fact that the Shiny distributions will be only at GAME stores in the UK, instead of being a WI-FI event. The fact that my nearest GAME store is about half-hour to 45 minute drive doesn't help. -_-

If I do get the Gen 6, I'll probably get Froakie, then when it's possible to tranfer pokemon from other regions, I'll dump it and tranfer my Serperior and Reshiram. xD

Actually, Kira, I agree with you! Your two cents are certainly worth more than two pennies. :3 I think the brand new Fairy-type Pokémon will be exciting to see as they're revealed. I don't have a problem with Clefairy becoming a Fairy-type, that makes sense. But I for sure wasn't expecting Mawile to become one. I guess I just never thought about it fitting in as a Fairy. I'm still not set in stone about my plans regarding the games, but that doesn't mean I'm not slightly hysterical happy about them coming out. That also doesn't mean I'm excited about everything, but regardless, they'll be loads of fun.....I can't wait....come on, October! :D
